Chapter 9: The Joker
Bruce drove back home having the box of evidence on the Joker with him. He made it back to the bat cave and placed the box on the table and opened it there was really not much. There was a playing card with blood, half a picture of a building and a gold pocket watch. Alfred walked into the room and helped Bruce place the items on the table and looked at them.
"Is there anything that we can go on from this Master Wayne?" Asked Alfred as Bruce sat down in a chair and looked closely at the items.
"We will need to run a DNA scan on the playing card figure out who's blood this is and why." Said Bruce as he picked up the card and placed it into a small DNA scanner. "It seems that this blood has no pattern, the DNA strand is all messed up there is nothing here." Said Bruce as he slammed his fist down on the table.
"Are you sure maybe there is something more that we just can't see." Said Alfred trying to help Bruce but only making it worse.
"There is nothing I have looked there is no trace, not even a sign sign of who or where the Joker is!" Yelled out Bruce as he slammed his head and arms down onto the table.
The gold pocket watch launched off the table and shattered. Bruce looked down at it to see a manufactured company inside of the watch. He picked up the watch and ran it through the bat computer seeing what he could find on it.
"It seems that this company has been shut down for a couple of years but the evidence bag says they got this a week ago." Said Bruce as he looked outside to see the night strolling in.
"I believe that you might want to were your other business suit tonight." Said Alfred with a slight chuckle in his tone.
Bruce hoped into the bat mobile and headed off again, he had not stayed to long and this was starting to take a pull on Alfred. Bruce found the fastest route to the old watch company and hide the bat mobile in an old shipping crate. He grappled up to the roof and looked down inside that was twenty men in the middle working in some sort of make shift lab. Along with ten men with guns on the rafters.
"The boss wants these chemicals mixed up as soon as possible lets no waste any time." Said one of the thugs as they kept on mixing some of the chemicals that had been stolen in the last few weeks.
"Alfred, I have found where the chemicals have been taken. They are at the old watch company's manufacturing ring.
"I will contact GCPD." Said Alfred as he was about to call the police.
"Not yet I need to make sure that it is safe I think there might be a lead on the Joker here." Said Bruce as he looked to see some sort of small office in the back of the building.
"Yes, master Wayne." Said Alfred a little worried for Bruce.
Bruce launched his grapple and flew to one of the higher rafters that the gun men could not see and headed over to the office slowly. He could not see inside the windows where blocked with news paper on the Batman who ever was in there really did not like him. Bruce turned on his enhanced hearing a little gift from Lucius.
"Boss please don't I promise you we will pick up our pace." Said one of the workers inside of the office.
"I would love to see that, but cane you really make it happen? CAN YOU!" Yelled out a unfamiliar voice. "You see I have no patients for men who can not work. I like the ones that can. So can you work? Yes or no?"
"Ye...s" Stuttered the man.
"Good now please get back to work." Said the voice as Batman heard the door open. "One more thing." Said the voice as the door stayed open. "I do hate lairs." Said the voice before a horrible laugh came over the voice and three gun shots where fired.
Batman saw the body fall out the door, the man was dead. The voice of the person did not walk out it looked as if there was no one else there. The men that were working looked up at the office and then continued there work. A shadow appeared in front of the door and out walked a male standing 6'5 he looked down at the men working on the chemicals and looked happy.
"I love to see hard labor people doing what I wan for freeee. Isn't it nice?" Asked the man as he walked around in a purple jump suit.
This man was weirder than most having being taller than most of his workers and skinnier they all still looked terrified of him. Then he turned his head around and Batman got a clear look at his face it was cover white with what looked like war paint and made him look like clown.
"Alfred I have found the Joker." Said Bruce into his coms.
"Well done, have you caught him yet?" Asked Alfred.
"Not yet, call the GCPD and give them my location." Said Bruce with out hesitation of what the police might do to him if he would be caught as well.
