Chapter 3: Bat Cave

Bruce woke up with a metal box at the end of his bed. He got up slowly and opened the box, inside was all the items he had asked Mr. Fox to get him including a fully automatic grapple gun. Bruce got out of his bed and walked on down to the kitchen Alfred was sitting in a chair in the dinning room and walked on over to Bruce.

"Mr. Fox said not to open the box sir but I had to take a small look. What are you going to do with a five grand body armor suit may I ask?" Asked Alfred as Bruce turned around and looked at Alfred.

"Have you seen what Gotham looks like Alfred it is in ruins everything my father left it is all gone. This city needs hope and after being away for three years I have learned how to fight and how to protect the ones I love. And I will not let Gotham be torn apart any more than it has already been." Said Bruce as he stormed off thinking that Alfred was mad at him.

"Well, you will be needing a secret lair right sir?" Asked Alfred as he looked at Bruce with a big smile.

Bruce showed a smile on his face as he followed Alfred to the west wing and into the library. Bruce looked around this was not a secret lair nothing more than a boring collection of books. Alfred walked over to the books on the wall and pulled one out with the title Under the Red Hood.

"Your father made this, he wanted to make sure he had a place to think and make new inventions for the company." Said Alfred as they walked on into an elevator that took them down under Wayne Manor.

"Well he must have had a lot of time on his hands." Said Bruce as he walked into a room full of lab equipment, monitors, and large storage bins.

"Will this help with your saving Gotham plan?" Asked Alfred as he looked around the lair.

"Yes, Alfred it will work fine." Said Bruce as he heard someone come down the elevator. "Who else knows about the elevator."

"No one sir." Said Alfred as hide behind a table.

"This is how you greet me with your fist in the air." Said Lucius as he walked on out of the elevator and over to Bruce and sat the box of his stuff on the table. "You forgot this upstairs."

"How did you know this was down here?" Asked Bruce as he opened the box and started to lay out the items he had given him.

"I helped you father build this place and I am glad we did, it will definitely help with your skydiving trip." Said Lucius as he gave a smile.

"Thank you, for this it helps a lot." Said Bruce as he laid all of the items onto the table.

"Well I did not come here just for your thanks I came to give you this." Said Lucius as he pulled out a large piece of fabric from the bottom of the box. "This is stiffened fabric, when hit with and electric current it will widen and well make you be able to fly if needed."

"It will help, I also am wanting something for a mask." Said Bruce as Lucius left and went off to find him something.

Bruce spent the next seven days down in the lair and built it up from the ground. He had made a large computer room, a place for all of his gadgets, a built in training room, and a suit that made him look like a bat.

"Why did you chose bats?" Asked Alfred.

"Bats used to scare me but now they drive me to do greater things." Said Bruce as he finished installing the last communication device into his bat ear.

"Do you think we still can call this a lair I think of it more as a cave." Said Alfred as he helped Bruce put on his mask.

"It is a cave Alfred, the Bat Cave." Said Bruce as he took off the mask and put away the suit.
