Thanksgiving was a concept that Alexis had never experienced. In all honesty, she forgot it even existed.
After all, they didn't get a lot of turkeys where she was from, and it certainly wasn't a celebrated event. So when she was asked her plans for Thanksgiving this years she said the most logical thing she could think of at the time.
" What?"
Jason rolled his eyes with a small chuckle, his feet annoyingly propped up on her coffee table, no matter how many time she pushed them off.
" I said, what are your plans for Thanksgiving," he repeated with a smirk.
She glared at him, shoving him playfully.
" I heard what you said, idiot, I just didn't understand why you were asking me," She groused back.
With an overly dramatic sigh he threw his hands up in the air.
" Girl, you make it real hard to ask you to dinner," her boyfriend sighed, pouring on the drama since he knew she found it annoying.
" Hey! If that's what you wanted, you should have just said it in the first place! No, as of yet I have no plans, yes, I will come with you," Alexis answered with a sigh of her own, snuggling up in to his chest.
Jason smirked victoriously and pulled her closer.
" Yeah, well, you'll regret your decision when you meet MY brothers," Jason murmured softy.
" Huh?" Alexis asked sleepily, having not been paying proper attention.
" Nothing dear," Jason murmured, stroking her hair as she used him as a human pillow.
Thanksgiving was a perfect day, the sun shone weakly on the snowy Gotham, which was an improvement on the normal grey clouds. For Alexis, the cold snow was a nightmare, and she was tempted to bust out some of her fire powers just to stay warm, yet she refrained.
Jason came to pick her up in his car for once, not his bike like usual. She was glad of this, her navy dress just wouldn't withstand his rough motorbike. Besides, she actually decided to put in a bit of effort in the hair and make-up department today.
When they drew to a stop outside Wayne Manor, Jason opened the car door for her, which made her raise an eyebrow in confusion.
" Alfred wouldn't forgive me if I wasn't being proper to a lady," Jason explained.
With small shrug and grin she exited the car gracefully.
" A girl could get used to this," She chuckled, taking his arm as they walked towards the huge front doors.
Jason knocked strongly, and barely a moment passed before Alfred was there opening the door, looking perfect as usual, not a thread of clothing out of place. His smile was so bright she almost needed sunglasses.
" Master Jason, it is so good to see you," Alfred said with a huge amount of love in his tone.
It almost made her want to cry.
" Yeah, Alfred, it's good to see you too," Jason murmured, and did she see regret in his eyes?
Maybe he regretted not seeing the kind old man I'm his anger towards Bruce?
" And Miss Alexis, you are truly radiant my girl," Alfred murmuring, taking her hand in his and ushering them inside out of the cold.
Now she really did want to cry, he was so nice it almost hurt. If only her grandad was so nice, he was just a cranky old man trying to hide from the nursing homes.
But Alfred, well, she was incredibly surprised that he wasn't married in his youth.
" You are too kind Alfred, too kind," Alexis murmured, as he helped her with her heavy black coat.
He just smiled at her, but she knew he was overjoyed to see Jason in the house again, and voluntarily too.
" Thank you for bridging the gap between my boys," Alfred murmured quietly when he passed her, and she knew he was truly thankful.
They entered the living room, and Alexis was instantly assaulted by a fierce hug. Looking down she chuckled when she saw Richard hugging her around the waist, before he latched on to Jason as well.
" HI! He chirped happily.
" Hey Richy," Jason chuckled as he ruffled his younger brother's hair.
" Must you persist with your degrading nick names, Todd," A slightly accented voice drawled.
Alexis turned to see who had spoken and her eyes were drawn to a man that could only be Damian Wayne. He was tall, with tan skin, slicked black hair and a chiseled face that looked just like his father's, but with his intense eyes he looked as though he could be approving, or plotting her murder.
The boy seated across from him looked about the same age as Jason, maybe slightly older, with dark brown hair, and she assumed by the book in his hands, that this was Timothy Drake.
Then there was Bruce who stood by the fireplace, observing Jason with surprised eyes. He'd invited them sure, but he hadn't expected Jason to actually accept, much less show up smiling and willing.
Beside him stood another man who she knew either had to be a wrestler or just extremely muscly, built tall as can be, with shining blue eyes and black hair, which seemed to be the trait. His glasses just didn't seem right for him.
He stepped forward, holding a hand out to her.
" Clark Kent, I'm a friend of Bruce's, from work," Clark greeted.
She would be lying if she said he didn't almost crush her hand in his grip.
