A Cure?
For the next few hours, Dr. Woof and Barbara talked, getting to know each other a lot better. Suddenly, out of the blue... "There's one thing I'm curious about," said Barbara, "is there an alternate dimension where there is a cure for paralysis that the TARDIS can travel to?" This question surprised Dr. Woof at first. Then Dr. Woof realized why she asked it and understood. "Well, I've been to the Speed Force before," said Dr. Woof, "if the TARDIS can travel there, then I'm sure finding a timeline where there's a cure for paralysis isn't impossible." Barbara smiled. "But, if we're going to travel, we better tell your father," said Dr. Woof, "because he'll be wondering how his daughter is suddenly walking again." Barbara nodded and said, "Very true..." She then got her cell phone and called her father, Police Commissioner James Gordon.
"Gordon here," the Commissioner said on the phone. "Hi dad," said Barbara. "Hey Princess," Jim said, sounding more happy, "how're you doing?"
"I'm doing well Dad," said Barbara, "I recently befriended a... Doctor... he says he recently found a potential cure for paralysis." Barbara hesitated. She hated lying to her father, but for years, she was very good at keeping her double life a secret from her father that was a master detective. "A cure huh?" Jim said on the phone, "What's this doctor's name?" Barbara hesitated, as did the Canine Doctor. She looked to him for suggestions, and he shrugged. And like a shot in the dark, Barbara said, "His name's Dr. Hartnell. He works for STAR Labs."
"Are you with him right now?" Jim asked on the phone. "Yes," she said. "Can I speak to him?" he asked. Barbara gave the phone to Dr. Woof, holding it for him. "Ello Commissioner," said Dr. Woof. "So you're Dr. Hartnell?" Jim asked. "Yes, and it's an honor to meet you," said Dr. Woof. "The honor is all mine Doctor," Jim said on the phone, "so you've found the cure to paralysis. Are you planning on testing this potential cure on my daughter?"
"I'm certain that this can work Commissioner," assured Dr. Woof. "Is this going to cost me any money?" Jim asked on the phone. "No, it will not," assured the dog. "Well then, alright," Jim said on the phone, "good luck to you both, and if anything happens, let me know."
"Trust me Dad," said Barbara, "you'll be the first to know. I love you." Dr. Woof smiled. "I love you too princess," Jim said on the phone, "I gotta go back to work. Talk to you later." Barbara then hung up on the phone. "Ready to go on the TARDIS?" asked Dr. Woof. "Oh yes," replied Barbara, who got more excited. Dr. Woof opened the door to the TARDIS, letting Barbara roll her wheelchair in, The door was closed as they were both inside. The Canine Doctor set the coordinates to the year 3000 of Earth 39, where a cure for paralysis has been found. "Ready?" asked Dr. Woof. "Ready," said Barbara. The TARDIS then disappeared from the Gotham Clock Tower, travelling into the year 3000.
