6: Elation

Learning the whole longing part took quite some effort and self-study on Jungkook's part. It was difficult to remember the exact order of the moves and only after he had mentally divided them into sets with a unique character, he was able to get through without fail. Unfortunately, that left them with only one and a half weeks until the big dance, and they had not touched the elation part, yet.

But Mrs. Kim was positive that the last part would go well, so she told them to practice the first two with music until there was no error anymore. The lifts of the last part would be taught in the last week. Jimin was convinced that this was good because they now had the time to make the dance their own which was not so important for the last part.

However, to soothe Jungkook's mind, they had agreed to meet on Sunday, too. So, right now, they were at one of the studios to go over the parts, he was not confident with.

"Okay," he wheezed after going through a lift for a n-th time and successful. "Let's do the whole thing?"

Jimin was equally out of breath and sweaty but nodded. "Just a minute." The dancer walked over to his bottle and took two big gulps.

"What will you be wearing?" Jungkook asked. The question had popped into his mind just now when Jimin had adjusted his pants.

A lifted finger told him to wait a second while the older took his phone and began to search for something. Curious, Jungkook walked closer to look over the other's shoulder. Tiles of pictures flew past under Jimin's thumb until he picked one and turned his phone so that Jungkook could get a good look.

Jungkook's first thought was 'as expected', but that did not make it less beautiful. The Jimin in that photo was wearing a skin-tight pure-white outfit. It was simple, almost too simple had it not been for the ends of the sleeves and legs to fade into a skin-tone that matched with Jimin's, giving off the impression that the clothes and Jimin were one. Only the turtleneck gave away that it was in fact a bodysuit.

"Will it match with my suit?" Jungkook asked unsure.

"I think it's perfect," Jimin replied with a nod. "Tainting the sacred with the human."

Jungkook snorted. "You mean desire is human and you represent... what? The supernatural pureness?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. Was that not a little histrionic?

"Not supernatural," Jimin explained. "Pureness -of mind and of body- has an expiration date. It's something that belongs solemnly to children. They're untouchable, and that inviolability is sacred."

"But puberty ruins it all," Jungkook stated ungracefully.

"That sounds really inelegant, but basically, yes," the older agreed with a pained face.

"So, I was right!" Jungkook protested. "I embody your desire."

"Yes and no," Jimin gave in with a sigh. "I suppose since you changed greed to longing, you could say that, but before that, I considered your part to be intrinsic and extrinsic desire."

Jungkook tilted his head. "Now say that again, so I can understand?" he asked of the other.

Jimin smiled and rolled his eyes. "You were supposed to be the inner and the outer desire. The desire of me and the desire that's projected onto me."

Jungkook let that settle into his brain for a moment before he drew his conclusion. "Two questions: one, are you really that egocentric? Two, what kind of relationship did you have to make you think like that?" The second question sounded a little more incredulous than he had intended it to sound, but honestly, who thought that greed was part of desire?

Jimin looked like someone had slapped him. And that made Jungkook realize that he had been really mean just now.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I-"

"Oh, you didn't?" Jimin snapped sourly. "Tell me, Jeon, have you ever done an own choreography? Do you even know how to do that? Do you only put one move after the other, trying to look as cool as possible? Probably." He looked really angry now and Jungkook did not know what to do to make it go away. "But this is not hip hop. This is not just about looking sexy and rolling your body to impress some girls," Jimin hissed at him. "I dance to tell a story. I want to show real emotions. My emotions!" He was biting the insides of his cheeks and Jungkook just wanted to kneel and beg for forgiveness. "I can't tell the story of anyone else, Jungkook. I don't dare to. I can only tell people about me."

Jungkook wanted to speak, he really did, but Jimin's words felt like a thrashing and he could not move his tongue from shock.

"Does that answer your questions?" Jimin growled.

Jungkook could only nod.

"Great," the dancer huffed and grabbed his bag before walking around him to leave.

But Jungkook could not let him leave, not in this mood. He had to apologize for being an ignorant ass. In his hurry to do something, he did the next best thing that crossed his mind and caught Jimin's wrist to pull him back and into his arms. "I'm sorry," he croaked out. "So sorry. I know you aren't egocentric. That was an asshole question."

"Yes, it was," Jimin murmured into his shoulder.

Jungkook wanted to know more. Who had Jimin had in mind when he had created his choreography? Who had made him feel so suppressed? But he did not want to push it, so he sticked to apologizing.

"I'm really sorry, please don't go," he said again.

To his surprise, Jimin slung his arms around his middle and leaned further into his embrace. "I like the choreography we have now," he said quietly.

Unsure of how to reply to that, Jungkook stayed quiet and simply held onto the smaller body in his arms.

"I like you as my desire." The words were spoken so quietly that Jungkook had trouble catching them, but he did and it made him smile.

"Well, let's work on the lifting to the sky," he replied softly. He felt like they needed to dance again before going home or something would feel odd the next time they met for practice. And he wanted to be perfect for Jimin, so he wanted to make sure to burn the moves he had refined today into his mind.

"Okay," the older sighed, still sounding a little put out, and let go of him. "Let's do this."

Happy that he had been able to save the mood somewhat, Jungkook walked over to the sound system to start the song again while Jimin got in position.

Once the choreography had become second nature and the music was a perfect match, dancing was like getting high on the tune. Jungkook had had this feeling for some of the dances of his own department, but it had mostly been heavy beats and aggressive moves that had given him the heady feeling of power. But Jimin's dance was intoxicating in a different way. It was making his heart throb. He could feel the tugging in his chest and the warmth of the other body made his palms burn.

With every passing second the music was spiraling higher and higher, dragging him with it. He was high. He was letting himself go. It was unprofessional, he knew, but it felt so fucking good.

The known part of the choreography was already over but for some reason they were still moving. Jimin's legs hand circled around Jungkook's hips and his hand had found its way into Jungkook's neck to pull him closer. And then they were kissing. Hurried and sloppy and so fucking desperate that Jungkook's head was swimming.

With the last of his strength he managed to find a wall and press Jimin against it to allow his hands the freedom to roam while his lips tried to taste whatever they could reach of the other's mouth, lips, tongue, teeth, nothing could satisfy the roaring in his chest. He needed more. More of the sweet moans and whimpers that Jimin breathed over his face, more of the writhing body against his, more tongue, more skin, more anything. Just more.

Their kiss was bordering on violent when the music finally calmed down and with it the two of them. Breathless, Jungkook let go of the plump lips and the legs loosened around his hips to slide down.

"What did we do?" Jimin asked with closed eyes and looking just as out of it as Jungkook felt.

"Created a new part for elation," he joked after gathering his thoughts. This made both of them laugh breathlessly.

Then Jimin's lips found his again for something slower and softer. It was just as good, Jungkook decided. With a satisfied hum he licked over the pillowy expanse of the other's lips. He could do this all day.

Well, they did it all evening until the security threw them out.

"I'm sure he knows," Jungkook said, thinking back to the look the security guard had giving them.

"That's such a cliché," Jimin whined with his hands covering his face. Whether he meant the ballet gay cliché or the dance movie cliché or something completely else, Jungkook was not sure, but being caught sure was a cliché they had matched today. He chuckled.

"See you Tuesday?" Jimin asked once they reached the bike stands. His eyes were filled with a sparkle that suited him very much, Jungkook thought.

"Tuesday," he confirmed and stopped for a moment to grab Jimin's face and place a small peck on the kiss-swollen lips. He still could not believe that this had happened, but the proof was written all over Jimin's and his neck in red and blue dots. Jungkook chuckled again, this time at the mess they were.

"What?" Jimin asked confused but smiling.

"Nothing. See you in two," Jungkook brushed it off and put another peck on Jimin's cheek for good measure before jumping the pedal and taking off into the dark.

"Jeon Jungkook!" Jimin shouted after him sounding rather angry. "Turn your fucking lights on or I swear I'll kill you when you get yourself run over!"

The previous concern morphed into a bark of laughter and Jungkook did as he had been told. Love really turned you into an idiot.

Back at the flat, he found Hoseok sprawled over the couch, watching some chaebol drama while stuffing his face with jjajangmyeon.

"I'm home," he called into the living kitchen room before unloading his bag in his room and aiming to take a shower.

"How was private practice?" Hoseok shouted before his head poked into the hallway. "Anything interesting?"

Jungkook grinned. "Maybe."

"Oh my god, you have to tell me. Now," his best friend demanded and grabbed him by the shoulders to lock him in place. His widening eyes probably indicated that he had spotted the hickeys now.

"We might have kissed," Jungkook confessed shyly and with an undoubtedly stupid grin on his face.

"Whoop, whoop!" Hoseok shouted and began to dance up and down the hallway. "Kookie got his man!" He grabbed Jungkook's face to pull it closer. "Don't you lose him again. I won't survive your sobbing and lamenting."

Jungkook chuckled. Normally he would have complained about how rude his friend was, but he was too happy right now. As if he would let this slip through his fingers. He had only just gotten the man of his dreams within reach, so he would do a damn messing this up.

"Go shower. I made noodles," Hoseok said with a slap to Jungkook's shoulder and turned around to continue with his drama. From the sound of it, the male lead was proclaiming his love with an endless stream of flowery words. Jungkook shook his head. What nonsense. No guy ever talked like that. Not even a gay one.
