interview.
for the past two days, jihae and her group were asking around their school building for who could help them with this interrogation they were about to do.
they were planning on compiling the videos this weekend, while finishing their reports within the week, as a result of them needing to be done filming before saturday.
some of the people they were planning on interviewing agreed automatically while others became too shy and said they couldn't face
the camera.
luckily for jihae, she already got her brother to say yes, even though it costed her money. she also talked to mingi and jongho yesterday during lunch when they ate together again. they didn't have any hesitation since they were already used with a camera and an audience.
so today, she was planning on asking seonghwa. she couldn't have asked the day before yesterday because jungkook wouldn't let her off his
sight. she didn't see him the whole
day yesterday.
maybe she could have messaged him about it but, little jihae here had a bit of trouble remembering talking about the project over text since she was always caught up in their conversation.
it'd make her heart excited when seonghwa asks her if she had eaten, tells here to sleep well, and not stress herself. it made her day when he texts her good morning and to stay safe.
yes, they had been texting ever since the junior saved her number and they weren't complaining about it.
it was just during class when she remembered how they had little time to finish the assignment and that she needed to talk to him fast.
she remembered him saying his
lunch time was around hers during mondays and wednesdays, and
today was wednesday.
she was praying they'd at least bump into each other, say hello and tell him to join him and yunho.
she still had a good ten minutes before her class ends, so currently, she was just impatiently tapping her pen quietly, wanting time to move faster so she could run to the cafeteria where her best friend is waiting.
-
yunho was currently on his phone, sitting on a table alone since all his friends still had classes. jihae was almost done, though. he just had to wait a little longer.
"yunho!" a deep voice with a hint of excitement called. "you're alone? do you mind if we join you?"
he turned around to see mingi, together with seonghwa and jongho, with a bright smile on his face, holding two drinks. "not at all."
he smiled.
"we're sorry. we couldn't stop him from basically sprinting here." seonghwa rolled his eyes at the red head. "we could leave if-"
"ey, hyung. of course, i don't mind!" yunho said, earning a told you from mingi.
the newly arrived boys settled down. the musical theatre major suddenly gave yunho one of the drinks he was holding. "here. you seemed stressed."
the computer science major was stressed. the past few weeks had been hell. the only fun time he had was during the time they watched a movie. there were more recitations and books to read. he didn't like it
one bit.
the blonde was a bit surprised but nonetheless, accepted the drink.
he took a sip and his eyes instantly lit up. "iced caramel macchiato! my favorite! how'd you know?"
"i didn't." mingi smiled and giggled.
"yunho!" this time, a girl's voice yelled his name which made the four boys snap their heads at the source.
seonghwa immediately smiled seeing the lass jog towards them.
"oh, hi mingi! jongho, you're here, too!" she grinned greeting them, and finally laying her eyes on the junior.
"hwa!" she waddled towards him, causing him to chuckle. it always made his heart flutter when she calls him by his nickname. the girl gave him a quick hug before sitting beside him.
"hi, ji." he greeted back.
"how come we don't get hugs?"
mingi pouted.
"and you're sitting beside hyung, too? after everything we've been through, jihae?" yunho faked a hurt tone.
"you're both being babies." she stated, resulting the youngest to snort.
"noona! don't insult babies." he seriously told her which made them laugh except for the two giants.
"right, before i forget. hwa, are you willing to be interviewed? it's just five questions, i swear." she pleaded. "and mingi and jongho are doing it as well."
seonghwa thought for a bit. "will it be done by you?"
jihae nodded enthusiastically.
"then, of course." he smiled and the female sophomore returned it as she locked her arms with his, saying thank you.
"ah, ants are coming." jongho dramatically scratched his body, implying that they were being too sweet, making the two giggle.
"jihae, i'm hurt. you didn't snuggle up to me when i agreed." the redhead frown.
"we were literally talking on the phone." she reminded him with a laugh, which made him put on an embarrassed smile.
"let's eat now, yeah?" the eldest cleared his throat.
"yep! anything you guys want? my treat!" mingi exclaimed.
they all squealed in happiness as
they told him want they want.
"that's a lot. yunho, how about you help him?" jihae suggested to which yunho, of course said yes.
"so, jongho. are you free after classes?" the girl questioned once the giants made their way to the counter.
"yes, i am!" he answered with a smile, seeming hyped with this interview.
"that's great. we can do the interview, in the science lab? is that okay with you?"
"that's perfect." the freshman gave
a thumbs up.
"i'll meet up with mingi tomorrow, and..." she turned to the junior. "hwa, we can do yours on friday?"
"sure, but i get off rather early that day." he chuckled lightly.
"how early?"
"two p.m."
the girls mentally slapped herself. her classes will be over by five thirty. she couldn't let seonghwa wait for three an a half hours.
"oh..." she bit her lip, thinking of a way to solve this.
she couldn't do his interview together with jongho's since she was kind of in a rush. it was her grandmother's birthday and they planning on visiting for a bit.
tomorrow, she also couldn't meet with the junior since mingi had their interview planned. yes, mingi planned it. he already arranged a place and time. they also had some catching up to do, things that the redhead wasn't ready to open up to his friends yet.
however, she also can't have it later than friday. what am i gonna do?
"is something wrong?" seonghwa suddenly snapped her out of her thoughts.
"well, if you're classes are done by two, that means you'll have to wait three hours for me." she sighed. "i'm not letting you do that."
"i can-"
"no." jihae denies firmly, leaving the cinematography major raise his hands as a sign of surrender. he tried not to laugh at the strict face the girl was giving. she's too cute.
the youngest cleared his throat. "you could do the interview at seonghwa hyung's apartment." he suggested.
the two stared at him as he
mouthed a "what?"
jihae scratched her head. ...i suppose it's not a bad idea.
"excuse him. he wasn't thinking of the fact that you might be uncomfortable being alone in a guy's room." seonghwa glared at the youngest for blurting out such a comment.
the sophomore shook her head. "no, no. it's a good idea, actually. you can go home and do your stuff and i'll just go there when i'm done."
"see, hyung! i give great ideas!" jongho exclaimed.
seonghwa looked at her, making sure she wasn't forced into this.
the girl chuckled. "don't look at me like that." she pushed his face slightly.
just then, a certain brunette walked over to their table. "hyung! jongho! jihae!"
"yeosang hyung!" jongho stood up and pulled his hyung to sit beside him. "thank goodness your here. i've been third wheeling since forever."
"well, why the hell did you sit beside them?"
"because mingi-" he was cut off by the two tall guys returning.
"here you go!" they placed the trays on the table, letting everyone get their food.
"oh! yeosang." the redhead waved. "i bought you your favorite."
yeosang's eyes widened at the fried chicken on the plate. he moved closer to jongho and whispered, "why is he being so nice?"
the youngest shrugged, also weirded out but wasn't complaining. he got a free meal.
while eating she saw soyeon walking in the cafeteria with dahyun, so she waved and was about to invite the girls to eat with them.
however, when soyeon saw her sitting beside seonghwa, she just grinned teasingly while waving back and finding another table.
the sophomore shook her head, smiling at the playfulness of her sister before eating again.
after finishing their meals, they were preparing to go to their individual classes, except for yeosang who was waiting for san and hongjoong.
they bid each other goodbye, seonghwa and jihae taking a lot
more time than the others, before
actually going.
"see you later, noona!" jongho said.
"see you! thank you so much for helping me out."
"anytime." the freshman ran to the exit, telling them multiple times he was going to be late.
while getting out of the canteen, mingi sneakily went to the girl and tangling their arms together.
yunho was behind them and just looked at them suspiciously.
he had a feeling mingi liked his best friend but it was just a hunch. the redhead could get along with anyone and everyone. also, considering jihae's personality, they click very well.
they were chatting about something in a whisper manner, casually laughing.
both heads turned around to look
at him. mingi gave him a grinned.
"well, ji. i'll go now." the strawberry haired male said as he ruffled her hair. "don't forget our date tomorrow!"
jihae, while smiling widely, nodded. "of course! wouldn't miss it for the world."
once mingi was gone, yunho immediately took his place beside jihae. "you're going on a date?"
"something like that. it's for the interview." she explained. "and
maybe hangout a little."
the tall guy scoffed. "focus on
your studies!"
"yes, dad."
yunho shook his head as jihae
skipped towards her classroom.
he usually doesn't mind who
jihae goes on a date with, but it's
impossible for mingi not to know seonghwa likes her. and he knows
for a fact, she likes him back.
it's a skill you obtain when you've been friends since you were toddlers.
or maybe he just ships the junior with his best friend more. either way, he really doesn't think mingi will have a good ending.
if there's one thing about jihae he should know, it's that she can be dense without knowing. it's a trait they both shared.
unlike wooyoung, both of them wouldn't know or admit someone likes them unless the person says it face to face.
jihae got better now, though. having an interest in psychology helped her in reading people, so she could tell.
he, on the other hand, still can't. he always likes to think that people are just being friendly. even those flirty girls on the hallways waving to him right now.
he could be wrong but he's got a bad feeling about how this will end up.
