fishy.
"uh, j-jihae." the blue haired guy beside her spoke which made her tense up.
"y-yeah?"
yeonjun took a deep breath before telling her, "look, i know the reason why you're uncomfortable around me is probably because you heard i like you."
the girl looked up but was quick to avoid eye contact. she couldn't say anything.
please, don't confess. please, don't confess. please, don't-
"well, truth is, i actually don't. not in that way." he exhaled. "i don't mean it in a bad way. i just," he looked at jihae, hoping she understood.
and she did. "so, wooyoung?"
yeonjun widened his eyes, but he immediately returned to his semi smiling state. "i guess that became a thing now, too, huh?"
jihae was confused on what he meant by that before he said, "no, i don't like him. i don't like anyone at the moment, really." he chuckled. "i'm actually meeting someone here on a blind date."
jihae blinked after processing what he said. how the hell did yunho come up with that?
"oh. so, no feelings?" she asked to make sure, to which yeonjun confirmed.
"rumors only began since one of my friends wanted to hit on you and i told him not because, well, your brother might kill him." jihae laughed at his statement.
"since i didn't help him, he thought i liked you and started teasing me. i guess some people heard and spread it." he sighed. "i'm so sorry it made you think the wrong idea."
the girl shook his head. "no. i'm sorry for assuming and making things awkward."
the door opened again, catching both of their attention since they were waiting for someone.
another handsome man entered the cafe but this time it wasn't just any handsome man.
it was park seonghwa.
he walked in, looking like he was searching for someone. once the two made eye contact, he smiled brightly and approached her.
"hey."
jihae unconsciously grinned when she saw him. "seonghwa! how come you're here?"
the junior gave her a slightly confused look. "i'm here to send you home. didn't wooyoung tell you?"
the girl blinked a couple times. "what?"
"yeah. he said there was something wrong with yunho's car and since i'm headed the same direction, he asked if i could pick you up." he scratched his head.
jihae tightened her lips, forming a straight line. she mentally faced palmed herself for her friends who couldn't keep their words. those two are dead.
"i see."
seonghwa nodded. "so, are you finished?"
"yep." jihae enthusiastically replied and gathered all her things. "yeonjun, thank you so much for explaining. and again, i'm sorry. i hope your date goes well."
her classmate smiled. "it's no problem."
they waved goodbye to each other as she exited the cafe with the boy she was infatuated with.
she skipped beside him, making him giggle at her cuteness until they reached his car.
seonghwa was kind enough to open the door for her, making her heart flutter.
once the two settled, jihae took it upon herself to play some soft music. she did it on purpose so that she could still talk to the cinematography major, and possibly hear him sing again.
the car began moving and the girl quickly asked a question. "if there's something wrong with yunho's car, how are they gonna get home? are they leaving his car at mingi's?"
"they'll actually be having a sleepover except for hongjoong, who has to go somewhere tomorrow, and jongho, who has rehearsals." the boy driving explained.
jihae nodded in understanding. "then are you going back there?"
seonghwa shook his head. "i have to go to work. i can't join them even if i wanted to." he chuckled sadly.
the girl suddenly had a realization.
"wait. aren't i bothering you? you're gonna be late." she panicked which made the boy laugh.
"didn't you tell me to bother you more? you should do the same to me." he glanced at her and slightly smirked when he returned his eyes to the road.
that was enough to make jihae feel her heart almost going out of her rib cage. it was almost as if the junior was teasing her.
she already heard lots of pick up lines or whatever you call them, she thought she was practically immune to them. seonghwa somehow made it sound like that.
the sophomore bit her lip to stop herself from smiling ear to ear and getting caught. this crush she was having was getting unhealthy.
she cleared her throat. "so, those five in a room, huh?" she tried changing the topic to distract him from her blushing state. "imagine the chaos."
seonghwa laughed at her statement. "yeah, i feel sorry for mingi's maids."
"he has maids?!"

after jihae gave directions, they finally arrived at her house.
the car ride was short but it was fun. they head bopped to the songs on radio, and even hummed from time to time.
"wait." the black haired boy suddenly said, getting off the vehicle. she could see him going around it and ending up at the car door on her side.
he opened the door for her, waiting for her to step out. he even held out his hand to help her out, which she happily took.
it wasn't the first time someone held the door for her, but seonghwa sure did make it feel like it.
once she got got off, they stood there for a bit.
"you should go in now." the boy started.
"yeah." jihae breathed out. "get to work safely."
the junior nodded. "okay. eat dinner well." he reminded.
the sophomore playfully rolled her eyes and chuckled. "yes, mom."
seonghwa jokingly pouted and then giggled.
"thanks for picking me up." what happened was so unexpected for the both of them.
the girl suddenly tiptoed to reach his cheek and gave it a small peck.
"b-bye. drive safely." jihae didn't even wait for a reply. she just fast walked towards the door of her house, hoping the cinematography major didn't see her tomato-like face.
seonghwa, on the other hand, stood there frozen. once he got back to his senses, he grazed his fingers delicately on the spot the girl kissed.
he began blushing furiously and the corners of his mouth slowly went upwards more and more, realizing what actually happened. he was like a middle schooler who got noticed by his crush.
he went back to the driver's seat. he cupped his cheeks hoping to stop it from turning more red. he also began fanning himself with his shirt.
"calm down, park." he told his reflection as he looked at his face in the mirror.
he started his car after taking deep breaths, driving to his workplace. however, this did not stop him from getting flustered thinking about what happened.

once jihae got in her house, she immediately placed a hand over her chest. she could feel her heart beating at an abnormal rate. "oh, god. why did i do that?"
"you're back." jungkook, who was sitting on the couch, greeted.
soyeon was on her phone, apparently texting someone and wouldn't stop smiling.
their brother silently judged her and put his attention back to jihae, and that's when he noticed.
"are you sick? you look so red." he asked her, obviously taken aback.
the youngest shook her head. "no. why so happy, soyeon?" she sat down beside her.
her sister finally faced her and said, "hongjoong said he wanted to treat me coffee tomorrow." the grin on her face never left as she excitedly told jihae.
"that's great!" the youngest exclaimed, also getting thrilled for her sibling.
jungkook shook his head and his eyes landed on the window. he saw an unfamiliar car starting and driving away.
"ji, did you go home alone?" he asked again, but this time, in a more serious manner.
she shook her head. "nope. i had a ride here."
the eldest raised an eyebrow. "then, who dropped you off? that wasn't yunho's car." jungkook thought for a bit until he gasped. "don't tell me you went on a date instead of a group project?!"
jihae smacked his shoulder. "kook, no! there was something wrong with yunho's car so seonghwa gave me a ride instead. he's a friend."
"he?" jungkook eyed her suspiciously.
soyeon suddenly spoke up. "oh, come on, kookie." she rolled her eyes. "but that name is familiar. is he the one you hung out with? joong's friend?"
"yep!"
"wait, who? how come i'm the only one who doesn't know about him?" the eldest questioned the two girls which made them giggle.
"you're too busy with lisa, that's why." the short blonde haired girl teasingly claimed.
"hey! are the both of you hiding your relationships as well?!" the boy demanded answers.
"as much as we want to, kook, unfortunately not." jihae sighed.
"what do you mean unfortunately? it should stay that way!"
"you wish." soyeon stuck her tongue out to which jungkook pouted.
"you really shouldn't be in a relationship yet." the eldest stated.
his sister gave him a look. "are you regretting being with lisa?" they teased again.
jungkook widened his doe eyes. "what? no!"
the girl laughed out loud at their brother's panic, making him groan in annoyance but soon joined them, too.
