You're Joking

You woke up slowly to the feeling of soft kisses on your shoulder, up your neck, and to your face. Barry's deep morning voice whispered sweet nothings into your skin causing you to blush, despite actually being married to the guy for over a year. You turn your head so his lips met yours. He smiles into the kiss, pulling away to look at your beautiful face. His beautiful eyes glimmered with happiness as he, once again, got to wake up next to his best friend and love of his life.

"Good morning, beautiful." He greeted you, leaning down to kiss your lips again.

You let out a little laugh, bringing your arms up to wrap around his neck, kissing him back. "Good morning, handsome."

"I still can't get over the fact that we are married." He whispered into your neck as he gently relaxed on top of you, absentmindedly playing with your hair.

You smile and kiss his shoulder as you ran your fingers up and down his back. "Right? Just over a  year and I still have to remind myself that we live together and we are allowed to sleep together. Like, neither of us have to go home after hanging out or whatever."

The both of you laughed at that, Barry pushing back up onto his hands, his smile lighting up the whole room. He leans down to kiss you before getting up and out of bed. "Marriage is a wonderful thing." He winked at you before entering the bathroom. "Hey babe, I'm going to be working late tonight so don't wait up for me with dinner. I'll just have leftovers."

You turn onto your side, propping your head up on your hand. "Alright, sounds good. Don't work yourself too hard. It's not like you have superpowers or anything." You smirk to yourself knowing Barry was rolling his eyes.

You stand to get dressed, suddenly you were overcome with nausea as well as a pounding headache. You fall back onto the bed and take deep breaths, not really sure what was going on. You hear Barry leave the bathroom, walk over to you and give you a soft kiss on the forehead. He takes his hand and strokes your hair.

"Hey, you ok?"

Your eyes pop open and you smile up at your worried husband. "Oh yeah, I'm fine. Just not ready to get up yet." You laugh nervously to yourself.

He smiles and nods, leaning down to kiss you on the lips. "Love you. I'll see you later tonight." And with that, he was gone.

You close your eyes and let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. Ever since the two got married, Barry made it a habit to do things at home a lot slower, or in your words, "like a normal human being,". You loved it because that meant he would notice more when at home and you didn't feel like you were competing with time for Barry's attention. Your head started to hurt again. Slowly, you got up and went to the bathroom. You guess it wouldn't hurt to check, right? You missed the last two months, but it could mean nothing.

You take the pregnancy test and it comes up negative. Dang it. Suddenly, your phone goes off. You pick it up and see that it's Caitlin. You smile as you accept the call. "Hey girl, how are you?"

Caitlin's happy voice traveled through the phone. "I am doing really well actually. Hey, I called because Barry said you looked a bit pale when he left. He didn't think it's much but I did ask how you were doing. You thinking what I am thinking?" She didn't even try hiding the excitement in her voice. Curse Barry and his observance.

You laugh and playfully roll your eyes. "I already checked. Twice. Both came out negative." You hear a deflated breath on the other end. Dido Caitlin.

"Well, how about you meet me at the hospital. I know a friend who will be more than happy to check you out. I had to go to her because I was worried other doctors would judge me for my superpowered husband. Despite mine being a false alarm, I would be more than happy to introduce you to her." Caitlin chirped.

Your brows raise in consideration. "Yeah, I didn't think of it that way. You think she is free today? I want to know as soon as I can."

"Of course Mrs. Flash. I will call you when I get an appointment and when I'm on my way. Love you!"

"Thanks, Cait. You are the best."

You tossed your phone on to your bed, flopping down next to it. It may be nothing or it could be...something.

"Doctor Elizabeth Williams, I would like you to meet my dear friend, (Y/n) Allen. She has expressed some symptoms, and, well..." Caitlin drifted off, winking very awkwardly. You rolled your eyes as you shook the doctor's hand.

She was very tall and very beautiful. Her smile was kind and her eyes seemed to hold a lot of secrets. You wonder how many Metahumans have come to her to avoid judgment. You wonder what kind of powers she would have, if any. Doctor Williams laughed, nodding in understanding. "Of course. Follow me to my office and we will get you checked out."

You nervously followed, looking around the hospital like someone was going to pop out and stick you with a needle. You shivered, shots weren't needed during and ultrasound. You were welcomed into a large room filled with everything a doctor would need, just all in one room.

"Now, if you could please lay on the bed and I will join you in just a moment." Dr. Williams left the office, leaving you with a very excited Caitlin.

"She is so amazing! I can't wait to know for sure!" She clasped your arm, shaking it slightly.

You can't help but laugh, pulling away to lay on the bed. "I haven't noticed. I just hope the fact that Barry has powers won't affect me or the possibilities of children."

Caitlin took a seat next to you, taking your hand in hers. "Well, the worst thing that could happen is that the baby would grow really fast and then you'll be back here in no time."

You just stare at her. "How reassuring."

Doctor Williams entered and took the seat on the other side of you. You noticed that she didn't turn on any of the equipment. "Alright. You will need to tell me who the father is and how many months you have missed." She let out a laugh when she saw the look on your face. "I promise, I will keep his identity safe. But I need to know so I can help with your child."

You smile and nod. "Barry Allen, The Flash. Oh and this will be the second month I have missed."

The doctor gawked at you. "Lucky woman! I had my guesses but I can see it now." She then turned to you fully, pulling up your shirt and just laying her hands on your middle. "Now, just relax. Just know that this is very normal."

What happened next had you blown away. The doctor laid her hands on your middle and then they started to feel warm then glowed with a soft orange hue. Her eyes focused on a bare wall to your side and then they too started to glow orange. She blinked and then there, on the wall, was a projection of a small form in a ball. Caitlin let out a cry of happiness, taking your hand and pointing to the obvious small human form on the wall.

"AHHH! A little baby flash!"

You just stared at the wall. You felt as Doctor Williams moved her hands to see more and check what she needed. It was mesmerizing. You turned to look at her, wondering if it hurt her to do this. You jumped when she blinked and turned back to normal, the glowing gone.

She took her hands off your middle and pulled your shirt down. "Congratulations. You are pregnant with a very healthy child. Would you like to know the gender?" She smiled down at you sweetly.

You mutely shook your head then swallowed. "No, I want to find out how Barry will like to know first. Are you sure it is alright? How come the tests didn't work?"

"Ah yes, that happens with those who have powers, don't ask me why, they just don't. And yes, your baby will be fine. In fact, I believe Caitlin was right, I couldn't help but hear. You will be due after six months, not nine. So technically you are in your first trimester."

Caitlin let out another squeal and talked the whole right home. She wanted to know what Barry's reaction will be so she left a camera for you to capture it on.

You just nodded, your mind working over time on this new information.

You and Barry are going to be parents.

You pulled the shirt you custom made down around your head and made sure it looked right. Now that you look at it, your middle did look a bit bigger. That might explain why some of your pants weren't fitting. You laugh to yourself but stop short when you hear your front door open.

"Hey honey, I got off earlier than I thought. You want to go out to whatever you are craving this time?" You hear Barry put things away in your shared room.

You took a fortifying breath with one more look in the bathroom mirror. He's going to love it. You walk out casually and go to give him a kiss. "Welcome home. I'm glad you made it home early." You turned to head to the kitchen. "I actually had cravings for mashed potatoes and steak so I made some. I kinda got bored." You shrug as you show him the set table.

Barry walked into the kitchen and a smile made his whole body practically glow. "I am the luckiest man alive."

You laugh and tug on your shirt. "I thought you were the fastest man alive."

"Oh well that too, but it comes second compared to Mrs. Allen." He winked as he walked over to you. But he stopped mid-stride. He looked right at your shirt, his brows knit in confusion. "What's this, babe?" He points to it, looking up at you with a stupid smile on his face.

"Oh, you know, a shirt."

He slowly comes toe to toe with you, his arms wrapping around your middle, his forehead leaning on yours. His smile widened as he whispered, "You're joking, right?"

You bite your lip and shake your head.

As if it were possible, Barry's eyes widened and his smile grew. He stepped back and threw his hands in the air, looking at you with hope. "REALLY?!"

You nodded again, this time smiling and not minding the tears coming to your eyes.

Barry wrapped you up in his arms and spun you around. He laughed and kissed you all over your face, saying how happy and lucky he was. After a few moments to compose himself, he sat the two of you on the couch, running his hand through his hair. He took the edges of your shirt and pulled it to get a good look at it.

He then looked up at you and kissed you good. He pulled away only slightly, looking into your eyes.

"How far along?"

"Two months. I'll be due in six months instead of nine all thanks to you."

Barry pulled you to him so you laid on his chest as he stroked your hair. You smiled and held him tight. "I love you so much."

You smile and kiss his jaw. "I love you too."

Yes I went to custom ink to make that and I think it's the most clever thing I have ever made. Yeah it's cheesy but man I love it! Kisses! Y'all know what to do ;)
