Suspiciously

"Barry! Give me back my hot chocolate!" You reach your arms up to try to grab at your now luke-warm drink. You had finally come to terms with your height and hated the fact that Barry would constantly remind you of how much taller he is. You huffed and crossed your arms. Barry laughed and winked as he handed the cup back to you. You take your cup and sip it as angrily as you could. "You are such a butt Barry."

Barry laughed. His head tilted back a bit, his eyes scrunched, and he placed his harms on his chest. "A butt? Wow, that is the most offensive thing I have ever heard." He feigns a pained expression and you smack his arm.

"Oh shut up." You smile into your cup as you take a sip. You watch your friend as he gets up from his seat and get himself a warm cup of coffee.

You two have been pretty close friends ever since Caitlin asked  you to come visit her after Ronnie's accident. Being her cousin, you couldn't say no. After staying in town for a while you decided it was a pretty awesome place to live. Despite the odd attacks.

Barry cam into the picture when Caitlin asked you to watch him while he was drugged a bit. You are going to school for nursing, so you felt comfortable doing so. You didn't ask any questions, instead you sat in your cousin's car outside of an odd man's house, just to make sure the really hot guy next to you didn't fall over or wake up. He did wake up and  you freaked, resulting in you slapping him so hard he passed out again. You have been close friends since.

You laugh at the memory as Barry sits back down in front of you. He looks as you quizzically. You shake your head and chuckle a bit.

"Oh come on. I'm not that bad looking. Sure, my hair can look wind blown sometimes, but I checked in the display case. I have no fly-aways." He huffs and takes a drink of his own drink. You smirk and place your cup on the table.

"Whoh, narcissistic much?" He rolls his eyes, but you continue. "I was just remembering something."

Barry raises his eyebrows, looking at you over his slightly steaming cup. Oh gosh...he cannot look at you like that in public,  your cheeks are totally heating up. You look down a bit and laugh, trying to avoid his eyes.

"You remember when we first met?" You risk a glance at his face, wanting to see his reaction.
You were not disappointed.

His eyes narrowed and he slowly set down his cup. "How could I ever forget?" He said raising his left hand to his cheek as if still feeling the sting of the slap. You laugh a bit and reach across the table to place your hand over his.

"Yeah well it was funny, so I laughed. I am still sorry." You take your hand away and sit back down but start when you feel a warm weight on your hand you just placed on the table.

"Oh I know, I just have to wait to get you back." He lightly pats your hand. You look up at him skeptically.

"How come I have a feeling it's going to be worse than a slap to the face." You smile as you look at him out of the side of your eyes. Barry laughs again, but you keep your eyes on him.

You have known him for a few months now and something just recently has been bothering you. Once you asked him to come over and help you start your car. Literally two minuets later you hear a knock at your door. He said he just ran over but he wasn't panting. Not wanting to think too long about it because you needed to get to work, you chalked it up to being tired. But something similar happened just a few days ago.  You were coming back from schooling when you saw a police car zoom by, chasing after a yellow truck. You watched as a small red and yellow blur rushed by. Not five minuets later your car stalled, causing a mini wreck. You notice a red and yellow blur rush around and fix the minor pileup, including your car. You make it home to find Barry sitting on your couch. He looked different. Hie hair looked like he stick is face out of a window, his shirt was on backwards and he wasn't wearing shoes but what looked like to be red booties. You didn't say anything but about did when he asked you if you were alright after what to you on your way back from work. He said he knew because he works with the police but you knew it took a while for little accidents like that to make it around the office. You knew that much. Ever since then you have been keeping an eye on him: noticing when he was gone, when he showed up places winded or not, looking for those red booties, feeling a rush of wind before he happens to walk up to you, feeling it again when he says he has to leave. You have asked both Cisco and Caitlin about these odd things but they keep insisting I am just paranoid because of all the odd fights that have broken out between The Flash and what they call Metahumans. Now that it comes to it you have no idea what Caitlin really does.

You feel a squeeze on your hand and a slight shake in the shoulder. Blinking, you try to focus on a face, a gorgeous face, really close to you, calling your name.

"(Y/n). Hey, (Y/n), are you alright?" Barry took a hand off your shoulder and placed it on your forehead. "You kinda just froze. Are you feeling alright?" His voice sent shiver down your spine this close, quiet and deep. You blink again and smile, hoping he would come just a tad closer. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, Barry let out a nervous laugh and stepped back. "Oh good, I thought you had gone into a standing coma or something."

Holding in a laugh, you cock your head to the side and look at him with an eyebrow raised. "Standing coma?"

Barry shrugged and stuck his hand out. "It has been known to happen. Right? Like those people who fall asleep standing." You take his hand with one of yours and grab  your now cold cup with the other.

You shake your head and laugh. "Narcolepsy? Hahaha, no. I was just thinking." You look at Barry as he leads you out of the coffee shop. You quickly glance down at your intertwined hands. This you could get used to.

"Yeah that. Oh, well what-" Barry didn't get to finish his sentence because there was a sudden loud boom and the ground started to vibrate then shake violently. Instantly Barry scooped you up in his arms. You yelp and grasp on to his neck. You could have sworn you heard him say a few choice words. You soon found yourself being set down by a water fountain that you know was that close to the coffee shop.

Looking up at Barry, you take your hand and turn his face to look at you. "What in the freaking world was that?" He reluctantly looks you in the eyes. You point to the water fountain and back in the direction of the coffee shop. "There is no way in heck you got me here by walking." Barry opened his mouth to, hopefully, answer but he was again interrupted by another loud boom. Buildings shook and you clung to the rim of the fountain.

"I'm sorry (Y/n) but I-I have to go." Barry's head moved, looking side to side, as if trying to look for a way out.

"GO?! Go where?! And leave me?" You try to stand, but fall as another shake rattles the area. You look at Barry and point at him, daring him to leave you. "What for? It's not like you can do anything about this. It's just an earthquake!" The earth shakes again and you fall on your butt, cringing at the pain.

Barry hesitated and looked like he was about to rush over and help you up, but you watch in his eyes as he made his decision. "I am really really sorry. But I need to go get- help- make sure Iris is alright. And Caitlin and Cisco." He stumbled through his words, getting farther and farther from you.
You look at him incredulously. What a jerk!

"Fine!" You yell at his retreating form. He gives you one last sad look then jogs off.

You huff and sit down, trying your best not to toss up the contents of your stomach. The screams of running pedestrians and the crumbling of buildings  did not sit well with you. Slowly you stood up, wiping the tears from your eyes. Why would he just leave you like that??? You were about to head to your place, not knowing of any better place to go, but you heard the sound of someone moaning. You look to your left a ways and find a smudge of red in the distance.

The earth as stopped shaking and and the buildings have stopped crumbling. You slowly pick your way out through the debris and about screamed. A body covered in either blood or red fabric, you weren't sure, lays limp on a pile of rubble. You rush forward and kneel down next to them.

"Oh please be alive." You reach your hand forward and check for a pulse. You sigh with relief as the soft bump of a pulse moved your fingers. You looked over the body trying to find where the blood was coming from. You look at their face and gasped. It's The Flash.

You frantically searched his body for the source of the blood. Luckily it was just a few shallow scratches. You look to his face and chew your lip. You are dying to know who it is. You have a hunch but you want it to be wrong. Slowly, you reach your hand out and grasp the edge of the mask. You hesitate and just stare at his face, trying to see if you knew him. With his eyes closed you had a hard time placing where you have see his face before. Giving up, you throw the mask off.

Barry.

Your breath caught and tears started to fall. What a jerk! He left you to save the world. Why didn't he just tell you his secret? You would not have said anything. Your breath hitched and you let out a quiet cry. Suddenly his body moved and you froze.

"So....so I guess you know now." Barry's voice sounded raspy and he coughed a few times.

"Yeah," you nervously smile and whisper, "I'm sorry." You take your hand and brush a hair out of his face. He winced and you apologized. There was a small bump on his head. "I always knew you were a klutz."

He tried to laugh, but started coughing. "I didn't want you to worry."

You rolled your eyes. Leaning close, you smile and look into his eyes. "At least you would have someone to take care of you." Your eyes glance at his lip then back up at his eyes.

His eyes closed shut and you took your chance. Leaning farther, you lightly place your lips on his. He didn't react immediately, but slowly he kissed back. You smiled into the kiss, pulling away just enough to look into his green/blue eyes.

"Come on, Flash. Let's get you all patched up." You help him up and drape one of his arms around your shoulders. He grunts and you look over. You take a double take. "Dude,  you are already healed up."

"No, not the inner wounds. I kind of heal fast."

You laugh and shake your head. "Is there anything else you need to tell me?"

He stops walking and places his free hand on your cheek. "Yeah. I kind of like you. A lot." He looked into your eyes, smiling slightly.

"Well,  you know how I feel." You stand on your tip toes and peck him on the nose. You pull away and he smiles.

"I like it when you tell me how you feel."
