Napping Games

"SHHHHH!!!!" You wave your hand away in the direction Iris was coming from. You watched your friend freeze in compliance with your sudden shushing.

"What are you doing?" Iris whispered loudly to you, looking between you, a red solo cup in your hand and the sleeping body of Barry Allen on the couch. Her eyebrows rose and she looked expectantly at you.

You stifle a giggle, silently motioning for her to make her way over, quietly. As Iris carefully stood next to you, you took a deep breath to quiet your breathing. The cup in your hand popped slightly as you adjusted your grip. With agonizingly slow movements, you placed the cup bottom side up on his forehead. Seconds passed before either of you let out a breath, sure that the cup was still and that Barry was still asleep. You turn to Iris and wink as you reached for something on the coffee table behind you. Red cup after red cup towered on the forehead of your sleeping best friend. Giggles threatened to burst from you and Iris, but your will stayed strong. Surprisingly, Barry stayed asleep the whole time. He would make small noises and his arms and legs would twitch from time to time, of which you found extremely adorable, but he did not wake despite what was going on.

After the fifth cup was placed, the cup you were holding made a popping sound, making you freeze. You glanced between your friend, the cup in your hand and the slightly swaying tower of cups. Iris, now sitting on the floor, looked up at you with wide eyes, her mouth shaped a worried 'o'. You watch carefully as Barry moved his hand up to wipe his nose, but miraculously not cause the cups to topple over. You slowly let out a breath and blinked your painfully dried eyes, due to the fact that you had them wide open not wanting to miss anything. The sleeping man makes a cute humming noise then becomes still again.

Iris slowly stood up from her position on the floor and placed a gentle hand on your shoulder to grab your attention. "I am going out with Eddy tonight. Let me know how many more cups you laid down before he got up." She winked then made her way to the front door, opening it agonizingly slow then tiptoed out, swiftly pulling the door closed, but stopping just before it shut to close it slowly. You rolled your eyes and looked back to your challenge. You looked behind you at eight more cups and a few random items on the coffee table. You grabbed the cups and placed it on his chest, staggering them to make two pyramids.

Little did you know that Barry was already awake, had been since he rubbed his nose. As your back was turned, getting a second remote, he opened one of his eyes to peek at what you were doing. Suddenly a brilliant idea came to his mind. You began to turn around, so he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep, leaving you none-the-wiser. You were about to place the remote on his arm when you stopped yourself and observed your handy work. Twelve red solo cups balanced on his body, three on his forehead, end over end, and two stacks of three on his chest. One remote laid on his left arm and you were about to place another on his right. Three coasters ran down each of his legs as a magazine laid over his feet creating a small tent. You held back a giggle as you gently placed your last object on your oh so patient recipient.

But Barry had other plans.

He opened his eyes slightly and waited until your hand came closer to his. Once it was in prime position, he reached out with his right hand and grabbed your arm, jostling all the objects you meticulously placed on him for the past thirty minutes. You let out a slight yelp and freeze as you looked down at two sea green eyes glinting up at you with a hint of mischief that you decided you did not like at all. Barry smirked at the look of shock on your face, ready for his next move.

Without so much as a warning, you found yourself letting out a high pitched shriek as Barry's left arm reached across and grabbed your slightly bent body, pulling you down on him, thoroughly disrupting the myriad of objects on his body, falling on to the floor or being squashed between your body and his. You came out of your surprise and looked at your friend, ridiculously smiling back up at you.

"Well it seems you are awake." You whisper, looking into his eyes, trying to keep a growing smile off of your face. Barry let his smile show as he, along with your help, started to move the cups and such off of him and the couch, making it more comfortable for you. You gave him a look in a form of thanks, but you wished to get off, not wanting him to feel how fast your heart was beating, for him to know that you quite liked how comfortable his chest was.

"Hey you," he whispered, "and where do you think you are going, and after I just made room for you." Barry held you closer, shifting onto his side, pulling you to lay your back against his chest. You let out a huff, but gave in, suddenly realizing how tired you were and how comfortable you were. You glanced at the clock on the mantel, reading it to be half past eleven.

"Don't get too comfortable with this Barry, lucky for you I am tired from placing all those cups on you. Takes a lot of energy you know. Patience out of the wazoo." You mumbled a bit at the end, burying your face into the strong but soft arm that was wrapped around your chest, the other coming up around your waist.

You felt and heard Barry's laugh rumble against your back as his grip tightened around you just barely; his face nuzzled into your neck, causing goosebumps to form and a slight shiver to take over your body. Barry smiled into your hair as he felt your shiver. He took his legs and entangled them with yours, causing you to giggle and shift slightly.

"Yes well, it was you who woke me from my nap, so now, as punishment, I will have you nap with me." Barry resolved, suddenly hoping that Eddy will keep Iris at his place tonight. But he wasn't the only one wishing that. You found yourself drifting off to sleep, but something in the back of your mind kept nagging you.

You scrunched your eyes and took a deep breath. "Barry?" You mumbled into his arm. He hummed in response, sleep also about to take him. You have liked him for a while now and thought it was time to know if it was worth stoking. Mustering up what courage you had left, you let out a sigh.

"Does this mean something more than friends, this...cuddling, or are you just tired?"

Your breathing hitched as you waited for his response. Barry felt your hesitation and did his best to suppress a chuckle. Over the past few months he had known you, he had been trying to drop hints to you of his ever growing feelings for you. Apparently you were too busy doing other things to truly notice. Barry gently turned to over to where you came face to face with his chest. Luckily, Joe likes his couches wide so it wasn't too uncomfortably close. You looked up at the man holding you, searching for an answer to your question in his eyes, as he looked down at you, taking in your worried expression and beautiful eyes.

"(Y/n), would a friend do this?" Barry leaned down a bit, causing you to hold your breath, and placed a soft kiss to your forehead. He pulled away and looked down at you kindly. You looked up at him, all be it a bit disappointed, but anxious to know his intentions. You thought it only right to answer him.

"Yes, either in congratulations or condolences. Maybe even after a tease." You rambled as a grin appeared on his face. You let one side of your mouth pull up into a half-hearted grin, you were too distracted to do much else.

"Well, then, would a friend do this?" Barry smirked as he leaned down again and kissed your cheek gently, letting his left hand travel up your arm and rest on your neck, stroking it gently with his thumb. You were at a loss of words for a moment, but then you blinked and cleared your throat lightly.

Your voice came out small, but you were determined to answer him. "Possibly, if you were proud of me, or thanking me." Your voice trailed off at the end when you noticed his eyes trailed down your face and stopped at your lips. You subconsciously pursed your lips in apprehension, bringing his eyes to yours. Something in his eyes, something that you have seen before, but could not place, flashed away as soon as it came. Then his eyes softened, seeing her worry, but he leaned down again, his voice just barely a whisper.

"But would a friend do this?"

It was like time slowed down, something Barry didn't mind, and your eyes had a mind of their own as they slowly drooped. You watched as he came closer, your breath mingling with his as he hesitated just for a moment. You looked up at him through your lashes and smirked slightly.

"Do what?" You whispered, almost mockingly.

With that Barry couldn't take it anymore. He crashed his lips to yours, tightening his arms around you. His lips were soft and tasted of peaches. His hand on your neck moved to the back of your head, trying to hold to closer. Your lips moved in sync, as if they were made sully for each other. One of your arms snaked between his neck and his pillow to play with the hair at the nape of his neck, the other made its way under his arm and to his back, gently pressing him closer. He let out a sigh against your lips as he started to pull away, leaving lovely pecks around your face.

You both looked into each other's eyes. There it was. What you saw before, but now you knew what it was. Love. Unadulterated, unconditional love. He smiled at you and brushed his thumb across your cheek, taking in everything about you. You let out a giggle and buried your face into his chest, taking in his sent of clean laundry and cologne. Barry rested his head on yours as he pulled you in, making this a bit more comfortable. He started to play with the ends of your hair and make soft shapes on your back. You smiled into his shirt and nestled in more.

"So, do just friends do that?" Barry's voice sounded, breaking the comfortable silence. You could hear just a hint of real question, the smug tint gone from his voice.

"There is such a thing as 'friends with benefits'..." You smirked, mumbling into his shirt.

You could feel Barry relax a bit and squeeze you really tightly against his chest. You let out a laugh, knowing he caught your jest. You smiled and kissed the nearest exposed skin, his neck. Then it was his turn to shiver slightly. You completely relaxed against him and let out a content sigh.

Iris came home early the next morning to find her two friends tangled in each other's arms, a smile evident on both of your faces. She smiled and shook her head, making a mental note to interrogate you two on what happened. She was about to head up stairs when she spotted a throw blanket on an arm chair. Quietly she grabbed it and placed it over your resting bodies and quickly made her way to her room.

You both adjusted slightly, but stilled knowing that the other was still there. Snuggling soon became a routine with you two, talking in low voices and sharing kisses.
