Don't Do That!

This is an OC requested by Autogirls and I hope this turns out ok!

Barry twiddled with an object he had picked up off of Cisco's work desk. A lot has bogged down on his mind lately. Luckily there has been a lull in criminal and Metahuman activity as of late so he was able to just sit down and think for long periods of time. One reoccurring thing, or in this case person, has been popping up in his thoughts. Rhea Aldrich. She has joined the team several months ago but only just recently has Barry been aware of his sudden growing feelings for her. At first, he thought it was just the kind of love he felt for Caitlin, Cisco, and Iris, but after Rhea had a close shave with death recently, it was like Barry was awakened from a dream and reality set in. He definitely cared for her more than the others.

But something he feels is stupid but very real stops Barry from asking her out. They have had their moments and flirting is old news between the two of them. But a relationship? That meant putting is heart out there for her to either cherish or completely and utterly crush. And bombarding thoughts of her doing the latter did not make his decision in asking her any easier. He even tried going to Oliver for some help, not exactly proud of his choice in who to ask for help, but his options were limited if he didn't want Rhea to find out.

Oliver suggested some of the weirdest things, the least of which Barry was contemplating right now. Barry ran his hand through his hair. How in the world was he supposed to pull this off? Will she fall for it? Will she kill him or kiss him afterwards? Will it be worth it at all?

Rhea had just finished getting ready for bed. She felt clean and rejuvenated as well as super comfortable in her soft, warm pjs. She had just brushed her hair, putting down the brush and pulled back the covers on her bed. With a content sigh and then a long yawn, Rhae jumped into bed, wiggling under the covers, loving the feeling of clean sheets on her newly shaved legs. She had just closed her blue, tired eyes when her cell phone rang. Her eyes shot open and she about went Biest mode on her phone. Who in the world is calling her at a time like this? She listened closely to the ring tone. What the....Barry? The tired woman rolled her eyes and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, reminding herself that she has the hugest crush on him and that yelling his head off right now won't look good. That can wait until morning.

Slowly and with her eyes still closed, Rhea turned over in her bed, blindly feeling around for her phone. Once she found it, she cracked an eye open to see that it was indeed Barry. Taking a deep breath, Rhea slid her finger across her phone screen to pick up the call. Lazily she placed it next to her ear.

"I sure do hope you have a good reason to be calling me at such a time as this, for your sake." She let her voice fill with a bit of sarcasm but not too much so he wouldn't take you seriously.

"Rhea?"

Instantly Rhea's body felt cold as she sat up fast, her long blond hair billowing around her. That was not Barry's voice. "Who is this? How do you have Barry's phone?" She about turned Biest but kept her breathing down so she could hear who it was.

The voice on the other end started to whisper. "It's me, Oliver. Barry wanted me to call you if he was in any danger and well..."

"Spit it out, man!"

"It's Barry. He got hurt when we went after this guy who has been-"

"I don't care about the guy! How bad is Barry hurt? Where is he?" Rhea started to feel her face change, her hair turn silver.

"That's the thing. He's being held captive at my house. The guy out-smarted us."

Rhea said a few choice words as she threw back her blankets. "You know, for a couple of 'superheroes', you both suck at the whole keep yourselves safe thing. I will be there in ten minutes. Stall him."

With that, she hung up and rushed to get changed into something to fight in. Tears threatened to fall, either for how stupid they were or the fact Barry was in danger, she didn't see any use in letting them fall. Blinking hard and checking to make sure she has everything, Rhea rushed out of her apartment and into her car.

If it weren't for the fact that Barry had asked her to go with him to a gala party at the Queen's, she would not have learned where they lived and what a fiercely dark influence Oliver had on Barry. But she didn't say anything because she could see how much respect Oliver had for Barry and how good it was for the both of them to be close to someone who held the same amount of responsibility and power when it comes to their respective cities.

Cars rushed by and buildings disappeared behind her as Rhea made her way out of town and to the next one. She hit her steering wheel with her hand out of frustration. Why do men have such bad hero complexes? But that didn't make her thoughts about Barry any less romantic. The way his eyes would light up when he hit a new milestone or caught an elusive enemy made Rhea yearn to be the reason his gold-green eyes sparkled. His smile made her insides flutter and his kind looks toward her made her feel beautiful.

A smile pulled at her lips as she took the exit to the Queen's place, her mind turning back to the time when she had to show Barry who she really was. He had been so kind and sweet that she was sure that was when her heart, against her wishes, decided to pine for him. But as time went on, she let it go and observed from afar, making sure not to let her feelings get in the way of their work. She wasn't so sure how he would act to her liking him, her co-worker of sorts. Not only that, but of who she was, an unsightly monster. But in a time like this, Rhea didn't let something like work place civility and her appearance stop her from wishing with all her heart that Barry was safe and that she will be able to get there in time to save him.

Pulling up to Oliver's place never lacked the awe factor. How in the world did those boys let one measly guy get ahead of them and freaking capture the fastest man alive? Throwing all doubt to the back of her mind, Rhea skidded to a stop and killed the engine.

She stepped out of the car, glad she picked black to wear considering how dark it was. A shadow of to her side made her attention snap to that direction. She reached for her weapon but didn't find any need to use it, except to knock some sense into his head.

"Oliver, you better know what part of your top-notch security laced house the guy has Barry. And why can't you just take the guy on? How did he catch Barry? Are you-"

Oliver held up his hand to stop her waterfall of questions. "All I can say is that Barry really needs you in there. I can help but not once you are inside, then you are all on your own."

Rhea's face contorted in confusion. "Whatever. Where is he?"

"Second-floor dining room. Maybe use your," he moved his hand to circle his face, "face thing."

Rhea spun on Oliver, changing her face just a bit. "You mean like this?" Oliver jumped and she changed back. "I think I can handle myself. Unlike you two, obviously."

And with that Rhea ran up to the house and waited for Oliver to help her into the house. As soon as she stepped over the house threshold, something didn't feel right. All the lights were off except the lights leading up to the second-floor dining room. Weird. After a bit of exploring and looking around, it didn't look like there was any forced entry. Maybe they knew him. That would explain why he was able to overtake both of them. Rhea shook her head. Never mind that, she needs to focus on finding Barry and figure out what exactly she wants to yell at him about first.

The sound of something hitting the floor made Rhea jump, her hands turning Biest already. Taking a deep breath, she hooked her fingers like claws as she rushed up the stairs. The wide double doors of the nice dining room stood ajar, showing her the dark interior of the room. A shadow moved across the rows of chairs she could see. Allowing herself to fully Biest, Rhea inched closer to the doors, resting a hand on one of the handles, ready to strike.

Rhea slowly pushed open the door and let a guttural growl bubble up in her throat. Raising her free hand, she waited two heartbeats as the shadow came closer then let her arm strike out, letting her growl go free. But she was stopped by a hand shooting out into the light spilling from the hallway, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the dark room.

Rhea let out a shout of surprise that was soon muffled by someone's soft lips pressing to hers. She felt her face relax and turn back. Lips? What is this guy thinking? Suddenly the smell of Berry filled her senses as she started to relax into the arms of her lip assailant, kissing back.

Hold up. Rhea froze and her eyes shot open.

Barry?

Rhea yanked her arm out of his grasp and pushed him away, stumbling into the hallway. "What the heck?! I thought I was here to save you?" She touched her lips, feeling her face start to turn Biest. "I knew something wasn't right." She whispered into her fingertips.

"Rhea..."

At the sound of her name out of Barry's mouth, Rhea instantly relaxed. Looking up she saw her friend and ally walking toward her slowly. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just, um, wasn't exactly sure how to, uh...how to-"

Rhea scoffed. "How to get me to fall into your arms, pretty boy?" With anger bubbling over, she stepped up to him and slapped him. "Yeah well you could have just asked, genius!"

With Barry still recoiling after the blow, Rhea grabbed the front of his jacket and pulled him down to her, pressing her lips feverishly to his. It didn't take him long to pull her closer to him, his arm wrapping around her as his other hand held her face gently. Rhea smiled into the kiss, snaking her arms up his chest and around his neck. After a few more seconds, breathing became a necessity. Barry pulled away first but only enough to rest his forehead against hers.

Rhea kept her eyes closed and licked her lips as her and Barry's breath mingled in the small space between them. "I thought you would have been scared of me." She whispered once she had more air in her lungs.

Barry let out a deep chuckle, placing a kiss on her forehead. "Not once have I ever thought you were scarry or anything of the sort. I have seen some crazy stuff since I became The Flash, but I wouldn't say you were numbered among them."

Rhea smiled sweetly, giving him a light kiss. "I'm sorry I slapped you."

"I'm sorry I didn't just straight up ask you."

"I'm going to kick Oliver for this. It was his idea right?"

Barry gave her a sweet little peck in return. "Yeah it was, but I say it was pretty successful."

Rhea laughed as she pulled him in for a hug. "I am not going to be the easiest girlfriend." She whispered.

"I think I'm up for the challenge." Barry whispered back as they locked lips again, leaving Oliver to wonder, as he should.

I hope that was alright! More updates on the way! Kisses!
