Blushing

 For harpdragon00 just because and I feel bad for being kinda distant. I hope you are doing well and still writing!!!

You, Barry, Cisco, Caitlin and Iris were just chilling out together when you got the idea to head to your house for a movie night. They all agreed eagerly, Barry doing his best not to sound too eager. You hurry to head to your car, hopping in and start rubbing your hands together to get feeling back into them. You start your car and wait for the heat to kick in. You leaned back and closed  your eyes but jumped when you heard a knock on your window. You clutch your heart as you realize it was Barry's laughing face on the other side of the glass. You roll down your window and do your best not to punch him right then in there.

"Good Heavens Barry! I thought you would be there by now!"

The speedster laughed, his breath billowing out in front of him as he leaned his arms on your door, making your heart jump at his nearness.

"I was about to head over there but I just wanted to make sure if you needed anything, I can pick something up from the store for tonight." He sent you a charming half-smile.

"Aw, thanks, man. Actually, I was about to head to the store now and pick up some much-needed groceries but I wouldn't mind if you could pick up some popcorn and some chips and dip. I have a couple of leftover sodas from our last party." You said, sending him a wide smile.

Barry nods his head and pats your shoulder kindly. "You got it. See you in a few!" He smiled before dashing off.

Your hair whipped around you in the wake of his departure. You shiver as you rush to roll your window back up and get the heat back up. You head over to the nearest store to grab your necessities. For some reason, you felt nervous you would bump into Barry, though you very well knew that he was probably popping the popcorn at your house already. You shook your head as you quickly made your way around the store; why do you suddenly care about bumping into him? And why did he offer to get stuff, usually he's the last to offer to get anything considering he gets some of the weirdest stuff, so the group collectively just make sure he doesn't go on snack runs. But there you were, all blushing and smiley as you sent him off to do just that.

You checked out and sent a text to the group that you were on your way and to go ahead and pick a movie. You then sent Barry a separate text saying that you hoped he didn't pick up those organic potato chips everyone swore was made from wood.

Barry picked up the hot popcorn bag from its corner and quickly set it on the counter, about to put another pack in when his phone went off. He glanced at it and smiled, it was from you. He was about to answer when the front door opened and the others walked in, putting their winter things by the door.

"Oh Barry, please tell me you didn't get those wood chips again." Cisco moaned with a smile as he plopped himself on the couch, stretching his legs out.

Barry nervously laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh, no. These were, uh, already here. (Y/n) just asked me to go ahead and get the food ready." He smiled at them, not wanting to bring up that embarrassing snack run again.

Caitlin rolled her eyes, walking over to the couch, picking up Cisco's legs before sitting down and setting them on her lap. "Right." She looked at Barry with a knowing smile.

Iris claimed the single seat, crossing her legs and laughing as she pulled out her phone to text you back that they will be waiting. "So how is it with you and her?" She knowingly smiled this time, putting her phone down ready for the answer.

Barry shook his head and sat down in another chair, trying his hardest to hide a blush but failing. "What do you mean? We're just friends."

Cisco laughed, bringing his hands up to make air quotations. "Yeah, "just friends" look at tests from one another and smile." He smirked.

"Huh? I don't do that."

Caitlin and Iris laughed in a chorus, looking at each other. Caitlin smiled at him. "Um, yeah, you do."

As if on cue, Barry's phone went off, saving him from having to face the giggling girls. It was another text from you.

I love you Barry, but please tell me you didn't get those wood chips again. I think having one beaver-like experience  was one too many.

Barry smirked, not knowing he let out a sound. Quickly he texted back.

What are you talking about, those were the best chips I have ever had!

I am beginning to think more happened to you in that explosion than you getting super speed. Be there in a minute.

Barry smiled before sending the smiling emoji with the tongue sticking out. He heard whispering and then more giggling. He stopped looking at his phone to look over it with what he hoped was a menacing stare at the two girls. Cisco just smiled at his friends.

"Did you see that? He was smiling! I sure do wonder who he is talking to." Caitlin whispered loud enough for him to hear.

Iris giggled. "Aw look, he's blushing!"

Your front door suddenly opened and you wobbled in with your arms full of various things. Barry quickly stands and helps you carry them to your kitchen. You let out a huff and smile at him in thanks, dusting a light layer of snow off your coat. You turn to the others in the living room as you stripped your winter wear.

"Who's blushing?"

Barry's voice came clear from the kitchen. "Caitlin. She just admitted that she liked those wood chips I got last time." You follow his voice into the kitchen and started to put away stuff. "She was pretty bummed I didn't get them this time." He said the last part for you to hear, smirking at the way your face slowly grew into a smile.

You smacked his arm lightly and put the last thing away before grabbing a couple of cups and the soda from your fridge. "How about you make yourself useful and bring the food in."

"Oh ouch. That's the last time I'm being your errand boy." He whispers under his breath, leaning down to you as he elbowed you gently.

You suddenly felt a blush come to your face. You hid it as you set the stuff on your coffee table and turned to your movie wall, acting as if you were looking for something in particular, not cooling down from Barry's closeness.

Iris's voice spoke up from behind you, you not missing her smile in her words. "So, what are you looking for in particular? I am feeling action-packed or funny. Preferably both."

You could hear Cisco move off the couch and step up beside you, looking at your impressive collection with a pondering look. "Men In Black?" He ventured.

Caitlin made a noise like she ate something gross. "No thanks, I can't stand some of the aliens."

You spotted one. "This Means War?"

Cisco quickly shook his head, pulling out another movie. "So you girls can drool over Chris Pine? How about Pirates of the Caribbean?"

You nodded and looked to the girls behind you. "You in?"

"Orlando Bloom isn't too bad." Caitlin shrugged.

Iris laughed and threw a pillow at her. "You and your men." She rolled her eyes playfully.

You find Barry just standing there, looking in your general area but at nothing in particular. You walk over to him and wave you hand in his face. "Earth to the fastest man. You ok?"

He blinked then smiled at you, making your insides involuntarily flutter. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Pirates are cool." He was about to sit down where Cisco was but Cisco was ironically faster, causing Barry to glare at him, knowing his end game.

Cisco shrugged innocently as he started getting his food together on his plate before pouring everyone drinks, not missing his sly smile.

Barry rolled his eyes then turned to the only other soft couch in the living room but remembered you had no place to sit. He looked to you and kindly offered it to you, bowing slightly which caused you to laugh. You look at the seat and turn back to Barry.

"I'm sure we can both fit on here." You venture, not quite sure why you let that thought slip through your lips. You internally cringe, trying not to think about his reaction, let alone the reaction of your friends behind you.

Barry swallowed, rubbing the back of his head. "It's alright. I will just sit on the floor." He nervously laughed. You rolled your eyes and shook your head.

"Suit yourself."

You sit and finally let yourself relax as you internally tried to calm your beating heart. But it didn't help when Barry decided to sit on the floor right in front of you, leaning up against your chair. You did your best to not think about how good he smelled or how soft his hair looked.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Half-way through the movie, you became aware of Barry fidgeting on the floor. You rolled your eyes and messed with his hair, causing him to look up at you. You lean down so he could hear you over the movie, doing your best not to look at his lips. "Get up here you dolt."
He smiled at you and hurriedly kissed your cheek like he did it every day. "Thanks."
You just nodded, not really thinking as you moved over to give him room. His warm body pressed against yours but you could tell he wasn't comfortable. You turn to him and he bit the inside of his cheek until you saw he had an idea. He moved you to sit on his lap, your legs leaning over the arm, your head resting on his chest naturally.
"There we go. Much more comfortable."
You were positive he could feel your heart beating out of your chest, but you slowly didn't mind as his breathing lulled you to sleep, fully realizing how tired you were. Barry looked down at your relaxing form in his arms, feeling you go limp as you fell asleep. He kissed the top of your head as he turned back to the movie, but not before catching Iris and Caitlins' smiles and Cisco's thumbs up. Barry smiled and looked back down at you, letting his blush come in full force as he played with some of your hair to the sound of pirates fighting and your gentle breathing.
SO! Ok, I know I didn't notice this until AFTER I wrote this but his is holding a snowglobe. Well, pretend it's a phone :P I AM SO DISTRAUGHT! The Walking Dead is the first show I have ever caught up to where it's airing on TV so I am just dying inside. It's such a good show, so much blood and gore but SO GOOD! I have learned some good lessons from some of the characters as well. So season 7 premier last night is why I have been silent for a little bit, I was waiting for it and then needed to recover from it :P ANYWHO, love you all and keep up the voting, commenting, requesting and sharing! Kisses!
