It had been a weird couple of weeks to say the least and Harry felt like he was constantly treading on thin ice around Louis. He was trying everything possible to get Louis to reconsider getting back with him, but every time it either ended up with them arguing or Louis crying. Maybe it was the hormones, maybe it was not but he hoped that whatever it was, would pass quickly.
The trip to the store had been for things they need but he had also volunteered to go so he could get some air and clear his cluttered head. It did not do much good and once or twice he nearly rammed his cart into someone else's. Harry just wanted to sleep with Louis, he hated sleeping in the guest room. He was not a guest; this was their home and he should not have to feel like a guest in the home he helped pay for. You did do this to yourself Harry reminded himself solemnly as he wandered around the grocery store, picking things up and tossing them aside again.
Most of their time was spent getting ready for the babies, readying the nursery and making sure Roxy did not get into any trouble. Louis was so in love with the puppy that she even slept with him every night with her nose resting over his growing bump. Harry still had not warmed up to her. In a way, he felt she had taken his place. Imagine being jealous of a dog! Ever so often Harry would look at her and a stinging feeling of annoyance hit him. Roxy was a dog, he was human.
Louis still had a few months to go until he would have to go to the hospital to give birth, but he was still huge. It had been scheduled but they were seldom right. The babies could come a week later or even a week early. That unnerved Harry. Would they have things ready in time? Would they remember to take everything they needed if Louis water broke? Would they be okay by then? Harry's mind ran a thousand miles every day, but he hoped that if nothing else did, the babies, their babies, would bring them back together.
Harry loved seeing him pregnant, he never said it out loud to him, but he was glowing more and more each day. More than once he had imagined him being pregnant with a single child, his belly swollen and his skin glowing- much like he was now- but three babies had Louis looking even better than anything his mind could have conjured up. His husband was beautiful beyond words.
Harry had just gotten back after he went to the store when he heard someone crying. The sniffling was barely audible over the crinkle of plastic nags swinging from his hand and wrist. He immediately set the stuff down and he went to find Louis, following the noises. "Lou?" Harry called out, hearing the crying getting closer the further he went down the hall. It sounded like it was coming from the bathroom and he steered that way.
"Harry, Harry!"
Harry stopped as Louis barreled into his chest, shoving a grunt up from the bottom of his lungs. "What is it, love?" He ran his fingers through Louis tousled brown hair. Through the thin fabric of his shirt he could feel a few damp places on his chest before Louis looked up to wipe his own tears away.
"I thought you left me again. I woke up and you weren't home, and I thought you left again."
Harry felt a sharp, white-hot blade pierce his heart at the word again. "Baby, I would never leave you again. I know that we are still figuring things out, but I would not do that to you. I made that mistake once and look what it almost cost me." Hell, he still was not sure if his actions had cost him their marriage or not. "Besides," Harry carried on with a soft chuckle, "I tried to wake you before I left but you were sound asleep."
"Sorry," the shorter male mumbled into Harry's chest, sniffling once again. "Can we eat dinner? The babies are making me hungry."
Harry laughed and went on to cook dinner, leaving Louis with a reassuring kiss to his cheek. His appetite had tripled, and he loved it. Dinner tonight was something easy and it did not take long. Within 20 minutes they were sitting down at the table enjoying each other's company, a ceramic dish steaming between them.
Harry could not help but stare at the man sitting in front of him. The way his chestnut colored hair fell across his forehead framed his facial features nicely, accentuating his bright blue eyes. But Louis eyes weren't even the first thing he noticed when they first met, he didn't even have a face to a name or a face to a laugh that made his ears ring, it wouldn't be until way after when he bumped into him. There wasn't a single thing that first drew him to Louis; it had been everything.
Call him desperate, but he planned their first meeting. Bumping into him, getting the food all over the place and him claiming it was because he wasn't paying attention. He told Louis he was staring at him, which was true, but he had saw him coming from across the room and he knew at that moment he needed to do something before he chickened out. If that moment didn't happen, they wouldn't be where they are now, they wouldn't be married, and they definitely wouldn't be starting a family. Harry didn't know where he would be.
"Harry? Hello earth to Harry!" Louis yelled waving his hand in front of his face, fingers snapping and breaking him out of his trance.
Harry couldn't help but blush at his husband-no, lover? He didn't even know what they would call each other. He knows he doesn't deserve to call Louis his husband, especially with the divorce papers he had almost signed his curving signature onto. Again, he got lost in his thoughts, that same faraway look clouding his eyes. Louis frowned, wondering what was going on in his mind and itching to ask Harry a question. A question that he had been sleeping on for the last few weeks. He fidgeted in his seat before he let out a groan in hopes to get Harry's attention again.
When that failed, Louis sighed and started to move his food around with his fork, his plate basically empty at this point. He was still hungry, but he didn't want Harry to think he was a pig for asking for more. Tell him the babies need more food. But it seemed that Harry had read his mind and his plate was picked up off the table and was brought back with a steaming helping of the delicious chicken parmesan baked ziti that Harry had prepared. That look was still in his green eyes but now he was giving Louis a smile.
Harry let out a chuckle when he watched Louis add red pepper flakes and hot sauce. "You do know I added fresh jalapeños to your side of the pasta?" Harry asked, eyes locked on that glass shaker that held the seasoning. He earned himself an eye roll from Louis.
"Still not spicy enough, babies want my mouth to be on fire." Louis shrugged, words a little muffled as he took a bite of the food. The smell of the spicy peppers made its way to Harry's nose and stung the inside of his nostrils.
"Remind me next time to use habaneros or even ghost peppers."
"I want spicy food. I don't want to breathe fire. You give me a ghost pepper I will murder you in your sleep," Louis warned, pointing the tip of his fork in the brunet's direction.
"I'll just lock the door so you can't get in," Harry smirked, noticing the way Louis' expression dropped. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," he mumbled as he finished up the rest of his food and he downed the rest of his ice-cold apple juice before he leaned back against the chair, hands folded his round stomach. Louis voided looking at Harry but he could feel his green gaze baring down on him.
"I know that look. Tell me what's on your mind, Lou."
Louis sighed. "If I actually told you what's on my mind you'd lock me up in a mental institution." He wasn't wrong about that, even if was a dramatic road to take. Louis had suffered for years from severe depression and anxiety. Some days were better than others, but most days it was hard for him to get certain thoughts out of his mind. He would have those thoughts about how life would be better without him there, wondering how everyone would be without him around; but they were thoughts, nothing he would ever act upon. He may have had those thoughts, but he wouldn't call himself suicidal because the thought of killing himself or hurting himself purposely made him sick to his stomach, especially now.
"Louis, you know you can tell me anything. What's on your mind?"
"What are we, Harry?" Louis asked, fiddling with the wedding band he had moved from his left hand to his right. He was aching to put it back, but he couldn't, not just yet.
Harry stared at Louis and tried to find the words to respond. They were there, somewhere, but the ones he wanted to say weren't the ones that needed to be said. Those were what he wanted, not what was best for the two of them. "That's a good question, Louis and... I honestly don't deserve the 'husband' label back, not so soon. I don't deserve you right now and frankly I don't want that title back until you are 100% with me being back in your and our children's lives." Fuck, that hurt to say.
Louis looked him over, up and down and just nodded. "Well we can't be just friends...that's weird." The corner of Harry's mouth twitched up, Louis soon following before they both erupted into a fit of laughter. At least they agreed on one thing.
But really what were they? They may still be married by law, but their marriage wasn't sound. One of them was hurting, reluctant to allow the other back in and the second didn't know what to do; his hands were tied.
They were lovers, they were still each other's partner, but something still didn't settle right with Louis. He could get past Harry walking out and serving his paper but it was as if he was waiting for Harry to leave him again. That fear was always there. He was scared that he would have to do everything on his own. He couldn't do this on his own, Louis knew he would crumble if Harry left him with all of this again but he did his best to cling onto the hope that Harry was going to stay.
They didn't have an answer of what they were, but Harry had an idea. "Then we don't label it," he stated with a tip of his head. "Nowadays labels are stupid, and it forces people to be normal. We don't need to label anything until you are comfortable, and I earn your trust back. We can just be with each other, help each other out and all that. The rest can come later." Harry wanted to call Louis his husband again and felt a sense of loss as he ran the tip of his finger across his own ring. It shone bright in the light.
Louis nodded, agreeing with Harry. "That sounds good, for now."
"Now, I'm going to change the subject back. A few minutes ago, you were giving me a look after I said something about locking the door. What was that about? I'll leave the door unlocked if you really wanted me too." Plus, maybe it would have encouraged Louis to join him.
Louis sighed and shook his head. "Harry... the only door I want you to lock is our bedroom, with you and I inside. I don't want to sleep alone anymore; I miss your arms around me as I sleep. You make me feel so safe. I miss your soft snoring, I miss you breathing down my neck. But I mainly miss waking up next to you every morning," Louis sniffled tearfully and looked down at the empty plate in front of him.
The legs of his chair squeaked against the floor as Harry went over. Leaning down, he pressed a kiss onto the top of his head then tipped his chin up with one finger. "Lou, all you had to do was ask. I never pressured you because I didn't want you to get upset or feel like you let me back in too quick, but I'd be honored to be allowed back in the room with you. I'd love it, honestly, I've hated being away from you."
Louis was so torn with what he was feeling, he really wanted to have Harry fully, even more now that he knew Harry felt the same. He needed him more than ever right now. His head was spinning as he was trying to figure out exactly what he wanted and needed, but it only ended up with giving him the dull thud of a headache.
He rubbed at his temples to try and ease the discomfort, but one thing about him was once he got a headache it was either time to sleep or take something. But since he was pregnant there was a limit on what he could take so sleeping was an easier option.
Harry had been watching him, his expression growing concerned. "Why don't you go lay down? I'll clean up then come join you."
"M'not tired," Louis replied, and as if on cue, he let out a loud yawn.
Harry couldn't help but laugh. "Go ahead, baby, I promise I'll be there in a few minutes. I just gotta run the dishwasher and let Roxy out."
Louis blushed at the pet name that Harry always used to call him, and he didn't challenge it. There was no point; he wasn't sure if Harry even meant it. Part of him believed he did. Louis let out a sigh as he moved the chair from the table and used the arms as leverage to get himself up. "It won't be long until I won't be getting up on my own."
"I'm here if that time comes." Harry smiled as Louis huffed and watched him waddle up the stairs.
After Louis disappeared upstairs, he released the groan he had been holding. You literally just got done talking to him about not labeling ourselves and you went right ahead and did it. "I'm such an idiot," he mumbled and started cleaning.
After Harry cleaned, he grabbed the leash to let Roxy out one more time before they all went to sleep. Maybe one day she would be trained enough to where he could open the door and let her out and she would come back on her own. He let her do her business, following her around and when at last he made it back inside, locked the door, double checked it then turned all of the lights out. The last thing he did was start the dishwasher. He put the leash away and gave Roxy a treat and a little water to tie her over for the rest of the night.
Twenty minutes after he sent Louis upstairs, he finally made it into the room where he found him curled into a ball in the middle of the bed fast asleep. Harry could se the slow expand of his chest as he slept. Louis was still in his clothes from earlier and Harry knew he wouldn't be comfortable staying in the sweatshirt and sweatpants overnight.
He set out a new pair of boxers, an old T-shirt and a pair of shorts. He knew that Louis would enjoy a quick bath to help ease up his back muscles. They were probably sore from the weight of the tiny humans growing inside of him. He went into the bathroom and got the bath ready for him, being as quiet as he could so the man could doze a bit longer.
When the water reached a comfortable temperature- which was much too hot for his own liking- he quietly walked back into the room where Louis and Roxy were curled up together. He really didn't want to wake him, but he had to. "Lou, baby, wake up. I got a bath running for you," Harry spoke softly into his ear, brushing his hair aside while he did. The puppy's ear twitched but she didn't get up.
Louis shivered at the sensation and just groaned, swatting Harry away from him. He was not happy being woken from such a nice sleep.
Harry chuckled, "Come on, the quicker you get in the bath, the quicker we can go to sleep."
"And then we can cuddle?" The pregnant man opened his eyes and looked curiously at the man in front of him.
Harry smiled, "Of course, anything for you." Louis didn't respond. All he did was put his arms up for Harry to carry him to the bathroom.
Harry didn't say anything and he carefully lifted the pregnant man into his arms. He didn't even react to the fact that Louis was carrying extra weight from the kids, he still wasn't that heavy. He helped him out of his clothes and helped him step into the water. He let him soak for a few minutes before he came back into the room in a pair of shorts and his shirt off. He got in behind Louis, sitting on the edge of the tub behind him he started washing his hair. The warm water made his cold toes tingle and smiled. He always would wash Louis' hair, and vice versa. He made sure all the shampoo, conditioner and suds were out of his hair before he drained the tub. He helped him out and dried him off every dot of water he could find to make sure Louis wasn't going to slip walking out of the bathroom. He wrapped him in a towel and carried him back into what was their room. Harry let Louis dress himself and get comfortable before slipping into the bed with him.
But what he didn't expect was Roxy barking at him when he got on the bed. It was the side he always slept on, but apparently the dog was now protecting what she thought was her territory because she protects Louis while he sleeps. Harry fought the urge to roll his eyes.
"No Roxy! No!" Louis scolded the puppy, the dog stopped barking but was still watching Harry as he got into the bed.
"I'm not going to hurt him baby girl, you can still sleep in between us." Harry left enough room in between their legs so Roxy can sleep with her nose on the growing belly of Louis. He patted the area and Roxy happily cuddled up to him and fell right to sleep.
Harry got comfortable and started to doze off when he felt Louis shift closer to him and he felt his head lay on his chest.
"Night Harry."
Night Lou."
The two men had one of the best nights of sleep they've had in a while. They took advantage of it because as soon as the babies arrived, they would be doing everything except sleeping.
**
Louis woke up the next morning hot and groggy. Another body was wrapped around him. He froze for a second, almost forgetting that he let Harry in the bed last night. Eventually he relaxed and let his eyes close again. He was too warm, but he was comfortable.
They two men stayed like that for a few minutes before Harry finally stirred, murmuring something unintelligible as he rolled and released Louis. "Breakfast...' he said, his voice cracked with sleep. Breakfast was their first meal together, always, and he kissed Louis head before pushing himself out of bed and heading downstairs. Harry's morning ritual of a shower could wait until after this. In the kitchen, he decided on something simple, waffles. He made two each and topped them with strawberries and bananas. As he set the food on the table, he finally heard Louis' coming into the kitchen.
Harry had pulled Louis seat out for him and was sitting in his own. He was taken back and surprised when Louis plopped in his lap. He didn't say anything he just let him be and they ate quietly. It wasn't unusual for Louis to do this, not before, but it was now. It wasn't awkward though and silence just fell between the two, staying like that until they were finished eating.
Harry was playing with the hair on the back of Louis' neck while they sat. It was longer than before. "You need a haircut."
"Nah, I like it like this."
"Yeah, okay and you're the one who told me I needed a haircut. I loved my long hair," Harry pointed out.
"I didn't force you to go, you went yourself."
"I cut it for you," Harry said it quietly enough for Louis to hear, but not loud enough for his voice to carry through the room.
Louis frowned, he never told him to cut it, he didn't understand why he would do it.
"I wanted to show you that I could change and I thought starting off small would be to cut my hair." Louis nodded, not knowing what to say. He got up off Harry's lap and disappeared to the direction of the bathroom, leaving Harry to sigh but say no more. There was no sense in arguing over something so small.
Most of their day consisted of them home and enjoying each other's company. But Harry was starting to get suffocated by Louis. Everywhere he went, there he was, right next to him. He waited by the bathroom door every time he went to the bathroom. He followed him as he did laundry, Louis followed him when he took Roxy out. He wasn't giving Harry space and it was making him uncomfortable.
"Louis would you knock it off!" Harry exploded as he heard Louis follow him to the bathroom again. "I don't need you to be following me everywhere. You don't see me following you to the bathroom!" Harry yelled at him. He knew he shouldn't have, but he was getting sick and tired of Louis not giving him space. He had missed Louis dearly, he really had, but he didn't need Louis breathing down his neck every second of the day. Louis had never done it before.
The pregnant lad looked at Harry with round, glassy eyes, his expression changing from one of shock to hurt. A single tear broke free from the corner of his eye and trickled down his face "Sorry...," he mumbled before he disappeared into the bedroom, quickly closing the door behind him.
Harry sighed and he continued to the bathroom, relieving himself before going to check on Louis. He found the pregnant man asleep in the middle of the bed. Despite what he had said, Louis looked precious sleeping and he felt the first slivers guilt rising in him. He needed a break, just a few minutes to clear his head. Everything was so overwhelming. Harry put on a pair of jeans and a random shirt- that probably wasn't even his- and moved his fingers through his mass of curls, ruffling it. I just need a few minutes and I'll be fine.
"Lou, I'm going out for a little bit." He didn't get a response, just a small hum. "Don't wait up for me, you need your sleep. I'll be back soon." He brushed Louis hair aside and kissed his forehead. He made as if to leave but turned back and rubbed his palm along Louis stomach. "Please do know I love you, okay? I love you so much, Lou."
Louis nodded. "I love you too," he responded, but he was so confused as to how truthful that statement was. He didn't know what to feel anymore when it came to Harry, but he was trying.
Louis waited until he heard the downstairs door shut before he started crying. He didn't know why he was crying but he was. Maybe it was the hormones and maybe he would have been okay if Zayn didn't decide to call him just as he was sobbing. He couldn't send the call to voicemail or let it ring because that would have brought Zayn over faster. Louis couldn't hide from him. So he answered it with a sniffle.
"What the fuck did he do now?" Was all Louis heard from him on the other end. He heard rustling and hushed whispers from other voices in the background.
"No, he didn't tell me what happened! I just asked him, I'm waiting for him to calm down," Zayn spoke to the other person with him. Louis presumed it was Liam.
"Harry didn't do anything. I managed to screw everything up!" Louis started crying again and he heard a set of keys jingling against the receiver. He already knew Zayn was on his way over. That was what he always liked about him. No matter what was happening, Zayn was always there for him. He always wondered what would have happened if they never met Harry and Liam. Would they have ever ended up together? Louis loved Zayn differently than Niall, but the three of them always came as a package deal and things were simpler that way.
To this day they still came as a package deal; Louis heard Roxy barking downstairs and he didn't expect to hear his bedroom door open. In walked Niall with his hand over his eyes.
"Are you decent? Do I need to step out for you to get dressed?" Niall asked, peeking through the spaces in between his fingers.
Louis rolled his eyes. "Not like you haven't seen me naked before."
Niall shrugged. "Didn't know what I'd be walking into."
"It's not like Harry and I were... Nevermind. What are you doing here?" Louis asked after he let Niall lay down on the bed. He instantly cuddled into the other man, breathing in his comforting scent. Like he and Zayn, he Niall had a close relationship.
"Liam texted me saying something happened between you and Harry. Told me Zayn was coming over and that I should as well, to make sure you're alright." Niall started to rub soothing circles on Louis' stomach, and he smiled brightly when he felt a soft kick against his hand. "I would have you tell me now, but I know you'll only have to continue when Zayn gets here so if you want to cry some more go for it. I'll always be your shoulder to cry on."
Louis kissed Niall's cheek but he didn't cry. He just enjoyed his company, jumping slightly when they were finally graced with Zayn's presence. Rather, the presence that burst through the bedroom door.
Louis went on to explain to Niall and Zayn everything that happened, what he was thinking and why he was crying. The two of them just listening quietly, Niall still letting Louis use him as a pillow and Zayn was at the other end rubbing his sore feet. Louis gaze lingered on Zayn.
Before they got to the part of Harry leaving, Zayn asked, "Wait, where is Harry?"
"He said he was going out. I don't know where he is though." Louis finished explaining to the two of them and just as they were going to add in what they were thinking, Zayn's ringtone chimed through the room. He cocked an eyebrow at the sound. It wasn't his husband's ringtone, Liam was right on the other side of the bed. It was Harry's. Why would Harry be calling Zayn? He never calls him.
"Well are you going to answer it?" Niall asked, breaking the silence between them.
"I'll put it on speaker, maybe it's important." Zayn tapped the screen and put it on speaker for them all. Immediately he wished he hadn't. The sound was fuzzy but they all heard it.
**
Harry sighed as he got into his car. He really needed a breather, today was just too much for him. He loved Louis but he was being so clingy, more than he ever had. It wouldn't have been so bad if he had just been able to go to the bathroom by himself. Don't get him wrong, he didn't mind Louis sitting on his lap and following him here and there or even holding onto him because Louis was his husband and he did love him, but it was just constant all day.
He started the car, driving to nowhere in particular and he didn't even realize where he was going until he got into town. His eye spotted the sign for one of the many bars on the block and he decided that he could have at least one drink, so he turned into the parking lot.
One shot turned to four. Four shots turned to eight. Eight turned to twelve.
Harry didn't handle liquor well and soon enough, he was dancing with some random bloke. It wasn't his fault, his drunken mind told him, Louis was just doing too much right now. It also wasn't his fault that this man bared a striking resemblance to his husband.
"Maybe we should move this somewhere else," he spoke into Harry's neck, nipping at the hot skin and earning an eager nod. They moved to the area by the bathrooms and the man didn't hesitate to attach his lips to Harry's, who in turn brought his hands to the strangers face and slipped his tongue into his mouth. The man then moved his hands into Harry's pockets, his fingers sliding over the screen of the phone in his pocket, unknowingly dialing a number.
"Shit, dude, you're married?" He mumbled, pulling away from Harry when he felt the cold metal of his ring against his cheek.
Harry shrugged, "Doesn't matter. My partner is fucking aggravating, too clingy. Suffocating me." He nuzzled his way to the mans neck. "Getting' divorced anyway."
"Oh man, I'm sorry about that."
"Thas'nough talking, where were we?" Harry slurred, moving to suck a dark mark on his neck.
A soft groan echoed into the receiving end of the phone.
**
"Lou, please this isn't good for the babies! You need to breathe, come on in and out. Listen to my heart and match the breathing," Zayn spoke into the inconsolable man on the bed. They heard everything that Harry had to say plus some lovely noises they never want to hear again.
Louis was sobbing uncontrollably. His chest hurt, his throat hurt. Damn near everything hurt. Hot tears trailed down his cheeks and he snatched away from the grip Zayn had taken on his face. If Niall hadn't been there, he would have fallen into the floor. "He's... Harry, he... he sa-said that.. Going for air..." Louis was close to hyperventilating and his breaths came out in fast, choked sobs.
Niall, still very traumatized from what he heard, pulled himself together. "Calm down, Lou...", he offered weakly, looking to Zayn for help.
Zayn hard brown gaze met Niall's blue one and the look he saw sent a shiver down Niall's spine. The only thing he was sure of now was Harry was not allowed back in the house. Zayn called Liam, who dropped off the kids at his parents' house and came over to stand guard of the front door.
It took Niall and Zayn another hour to get Louis to calm down. They ended up having to put him into the bathtub. A nice, hot bath always managed to help him. They cleaned his tear-stained cheeks and Niall helped him dress into something soft and comfortable. They stayed with Louis until he fell asleep, all three of them piled into the big bed. They only left him after Roxy snuck in and cuddled into her owner's side to help comfort him.
Zayn and Niall joined Liam downstairs, both rubbing their hands over their faces almost simultaneously. "He's done. Next time I see him I will hurt him bad. I've threatened him before and he knows what I am capable of." Zayn shook his head and began pacing, his fist clenching and unclenching.
Liam walked over to his husband and took hold of his hand to help calm him down, only to be shoved away. "Baby, please," he tried again, this time taking both of Zayn's hands into his own. "Just calm down."
"Liam you didn't hear what we heard, he's dead to me. No one hurts Louis and gets away with it."
Still Liam held on, eventually pulling Zayn into his chest. If nothing else, it would help hold him there when and if Harry came home. He could feel the harsh breathing coming from his husband. Oh, Harry, what have you done.
It wouldn't be for another 2 hours before they all heard a car door slam shut. It startled all three of them but Zayn was up in an instant, yanking free of the hold Liam had had around him. The other two quickly got up and stood in front of the door.
"You got some fucking nerve Harry," Zayn spoke as the door open and they were met with a very drunk Harry.
"Oh what brings you guys here?" Harry's eyes widened, stumbling as he passed the threshold. "Is Louis okay? Did I miss something?"
Zayn could see the slow way Harry's eyes moved and the tiny red veins that made them bloodshot. It angered him more "Save it you bastard. Before I do something I regret, my advice to you is grab your shit and get the fuck out. Go to your moms, sleep in your car, I don't give a fuck but you need to get out of this house."
"Out? What? What's going on? I don't have anywhere to go." Harry hazy mind tried to process what was happening and he took another step but Zayn moved quicker, blocking him from going any further.
"You have five minutes before I do more than that punch Liam gave you when you left Louis the first time. Don't test me." Zayn's words shook and Liam laid a hand on his shoulder, just in case.
Harry sobered up quicker than he ever had but did as he was told. He didn't dare go find Louis, he grabbed what he needed, passing the three men, his friends, on the way out. Harry paused, turning to ask what this was about but Niall cut him off.
"Don't, just go."
Harry nodded and he left the house without fighting. Not that he didn't want too, but it was Zayn that made him go. Something wasn't right and he felt danger rolling off of him in waves. Liam's pleading eyes had secured his decision. He left, wiping tears from his cheeks as he did and stumbled down the front steps. The door slammed shut hard behind him.
Harry didn't know what to do, he had nowhere to go.
Still sitting in his pocket, was his forgotten phone.
