Chapter 4

Recap:
"Jaysmine felt the cool air sting her tear-streaked face. She opened her cakey eyelids and looked around the room. The room was elegant- a perfectly organized bed with silk covers in all shades of purples, beautiful lamps lighting up the room, a full on dresser.

Jaysmine gasped in surprise."

Recap over

"What!?" Jaysmine surveyed the room, taking in it all. Just a moment ago - she was sure- there was nothing in this room that was anything like this, not even a light! She flicked up and down the switch, watching the light flick on and off. On. Flick. Off. Flick. On.

Jaysmine studied the lightbulb- a fancy lamp with embroidered fixtures and gleaming brass designs framing the outward of the lamp. She fingered it, pressing her fingers up against the cold frame. It's sure felt real, alright! The light being released was real, too.

Jaysmine sat on the edge of the bed, very confused. The soft, comfy matress and impossibly thick comforter invited her to rest. As Jaysmine slowly laid back into the bed,she remembered that she was supposed to be trying to escape. "I'll do it in a moment," she thought sleepily as she closed her eyes.

Jaysmine leaped out of the bed like a scared kitten. She looked at it again- still a normal, extra comfy bed. She cautiously reached out her hand to touch it. Yep, still a comfy bed. But Jaysmine could swear that when she closed her eyes, the bed had been the old bed - a broken, ripped matress with rusted springs.

Jaysmine began to develop a theory. She walked up the the light switch. She flicked it once to make sure it still worked, which it did, and then closed her eyes. She felt the spot where the light had just been and reached out. Nothing. Jaysmine moved her hand around to make sure she hadn't missed it. Yep. Nothing. She opened her eyes. The light was their, as real as ever.

Jaysmine was proud. She assumed this was a test, and she had figured it out. The room was an illusion, so when she had her eyes closed, she could see what the room really was.

As Jaysmine tested some more of the objects - the bed, dresser, and cabinet - when she heard a click. Click clack click clack. Her heart froze. The scientists were coming! Jaysmine frantically thought of how to escape. She eyed a window, a small one that was designed to look like the part of the wall. Only now Jaysmine saw it was there.

The scientists came closer, and Jaysmine began to shake. The doorknob began to turn slowly. Not knowing what to do, she ran to the window and flung herself out.

Soooooooo sorry for the super late (and short) update!!! :( I was sooo busy and I have a life, too. Also, part of it got deleted so starting over was not fun. Sorry for the shortness, but making it longer would have taken longer, and you guys have probably already given up on me so yeah. I figured later was bad, so I published it now.

Please vote, commemt, and like,
