Chapter 2

Recap:
" Jaysmine was led into a small room with a huge gray machine in the center. At the sight of that machine, Jaysmine started panicking. She dashed backwards, right into the arms of two of the scientist. They heaved her struggling body into the machine and other man locked her in.

The woman scientist wrote something on her clipboard, and looked up.

"Now we begin Phase Two of our plan"

Recap over

Jaysmine looked around the room, eyes wide with panick. She scanned for anyone, anything that could help her out of this mess. Her phone! Jaysmine would have facepalmed herself if she hadn't been chained up in the heavy mechanical machinery.

Then she remembered she was not in her original clothes, but in the scratchy white gown. She closed her eyes in defeat and forced the tears pooling in her eyes back. It was no use, though. After a few minutes of shaking and quivering, she finally let her tears flow. For a moment, she though she saw the scientists face soften at her tears, but as quickly as it was there, it was gone.

Jaysmine watched in dismay and the scientist flicked a small switch on the wall. "Test One commencing" the machine said in a robotic voice, making Jaysmine jump (more like shake the chains holding her) as the voice continued. "Close your eyes and mouth," said the machine, and Jaysmine shut both tight.

She felt the machine whir and a small click came from the machine. Jaysmine held as still as possible, not wanting to get her eyes poked out or who-knows-what from the strange machine. Jaysmine heard the scratching of pens. Probably those stupid scientists taking stupid notes on their stupid clipboards, Jaysmine thought angrily.

A small hissing noise escaped from the machinery. Jaysmine felt a thin layer of spray covering her eyes. "W-wait!!" She screamed, "Stop!"
"Sorry," said the lady, "it's already to late." Jaysmine struggled with the heavy chains cutting her arms and supporting her sideways in an extremely uncomfortable position.

Jaysmine tried to open her eyes but the we're stuck shut! The machine kept hissing and Jaysmine felt more and more pressure on her eyes. She gave a final defiant tug on the chains and tried to open her eyes again, but it was to hard. She was stuck.

She began to cry. Thick, ugly sobs escaped from her frail, thin body. The tears got stuck in her eyelids, since her eyes were covered, and made it even worse than a moment ago.

"STOP," came the lady's voice. She sounded frantic. "DON'T CRY," she yelled. "Why," Jaysmine snapped, "Why do I have to listen to you," she said, her defiance returning to her.

She heard a shink like a blade being drawn. Cold sweat ran down Jaysmine face. Tap. Pause. Tap. Pause. Tap. Pause. She heard the women's voice to the right side of her head. She whispered, "Because I have this,"  she said, and she held up the knife,or at least that's what it sounded like to Jaysmine. She felt the cold blade pressing up against her neck.

"Will you cry?" She said, in a soothing but deadly voice. "I hope not, I don't want to have to have cleaning duty."
"C-cleaning dut-ty?" Jaysmine responded with a stutter, "What is t-that?" The women pressed harder. "It's when I have to clean the knife," she said.

Jaysmine's stomach dropped and she fought the urge to cry again. "You're lucky," the women said, "I like you." She made a small cut on Jaysmine's neck, and walked away. For the next three hours, or so it felt to Jaysmine, all she heard was the scratching of the scientists taking notes on her. The hissing had stopped about an hour ago,and she wondered if she would ever get released from her chains.

Do those scientists even sleep? Jaysmine wondered. They've been taking noted and putting me in crazy machines and messing up my whole life for the past three days! Jaysmine wondered what her dad was doing, and what had happened a ince she decided to come to the lab. Fiara. The thought hit Jaysmine quickly. I won't get to see her ever again! Or Lovela, or Mistique! I miss them so bad. She cried on the inside, and she wanted to curl up into a little ball.

Why. That one word came with so much power to Jaysmine. Why me who ended up in the lab? Why me who had a crazy dad? Why me who has to be put through this torchure. Why me who has to live without my mom. Why why why why why. Jaysmine quietly thought.

For a moment, Jaysmine couldn't figure out what was different. Then she realized: the scientists had stopped taking notes. A flower of hope bloomed in her chest. Was she being set free? She pondered the possibilities. Where would she go? What would she do? Who would she come across?

Jaysmine felt the chains on her arms begin to be unlocked. She had one arm released, then the other. She nearly fell foward, but she was caught by two scientists. As the others unlocked her legs, she rubbed her sore arms.

Once she was free, they led her down into a pitch-black passage.

P.S. the picture at the top(or side) is Jaysmine in the machine before they start the experiment on her.
