Twenty-two

Never once did Sydney doubt Tori's words. It was true, Felix did always have a way but she wasn't expecting it to start the very next morning when she woke up.

"What did Dad do now? What's up with all the flowers?" She asked as she started at her mother who was carrying a large bouquet of red roses. There had to be at least fifty.

Her mother chuckled.

"Your father did nothing... Or at least this time he didn't this time around. These are actually for you." She failed to hide her smile just thinking about how he actually went out it buy so many roses for her daughter. "They are from Felix."

Sydney's eyes widened.

"What? Are you sure?"

"Yes, the tag says it all. It even came with this letter."

She handed her the letter that had her name written neatly on the envelope.

Sydney took it with a smile as well as the bouquet of roses then headed upstairs where she opened the letter.

"Good morning, Sydney," she read it out loud. "I'm not really the best at writing letters. It's honestly quite awkward for me but since I can't speak to you in person this was my second best attempt. I hope you enjoy the roses. I remember the time when you were talking to Olivia and mentioned that your favourite flowers were red roses. I'm so sorry that some of my fake fans go to you yesterday. I should have been there to stop them. Sorry for that. I know that it's only been a day but I really need to see you again. I don't mind if we just stay as friends as long as your happy. I just want to make sure you're alright. We are going to have mini concert at the beach closest to your house on Saturday and I was hoping you'd come. We'll keep you in the VIP section and away from the fans. The other workers at the café will be there too so you'll be safe. Please consider it and show up. I'm running out of space on my paper so I think it's best that I end it off here. See you Saturday, hopefully."

Subconsciously, a smile grew on her face as she ended the letter but it soon dropped when she realised the chances of her parents actually letting her out of the house were really slim.

Sighing, she separated the roses and distributed them into five vases then fell back onto her bed. She stared at the ceiling until her eyes grew heavy and she fell back asleep.

"It has to work. It just has to," Jisung grinned, unable to contain his excitement.

"And if she doesn't show up?" Woojin questioned.

"No worries. I got that," Chris shrugged confidently.

"I don't know," Felix mumbled. "Seems a bit risky if you ask me."

"No one asked you, Felix. We're doing this and you have no say in it," Minho glared at him. "I literally put in the effort to think of it and I will not have my efforts wasted."

"Can't I just take her out secretly and apologise that way?"

"Boring," Minho chimed. "Besides, you need the fans to know she's your girl and you'll kill whoever touches her. Or at least, I will."

"Fine but what if she rejects me?"

"That's your problem then. I'm done with thinking up stuff for you. You have your own brain. Work it out."

With that, Minho walked away. No one was surprised though. Minho was Minho. He had a tendency of doing stuff like that.

Chris glanced down at his watch.

"I have to get to work early. So I'll leave you guys to think a little more about how it's going to go."

Changbin turned to Felix.

"Why are you so worried about it? It's clear she likes you back."

"And that's the problem. She only likes me. I love her. She said it was nothing more than a crush."

"People say lots of things they don't mean. Like how Jisung and Minho claim there's nothing happening between them when there clearly is."

"There's nothing-" Jisung started.

"Shut it, Han. Sydney probably just worried about falling in love," Changbin explained.

Felix sighed as he looked down at the ground. It was a gamble and so much could go wrong but he needed to see her again. He just needed to.

Just a heads-up, after this there is one more chapter then the epilogue.
