Sixteen

^^^This song was literally on repeat throughout the whole of 2018. It means so much to me since it helped me feel better every time I was stressing out. Stray Kids are such an amazing group and I'm so glad I found out about them. We are officially approaching one year with Stray Kids (since their debut) and I really wish them the best for 2019^^^

"Well that doesn't sound good, " Felix sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.

"What do you mean?" Sydney asked.

"Every time someone says they want to talk, they cut it off with the person. You're not ending things off with me, are you?"

She exhaled loudly as she looked to the ground, unable to look in his eyes.

"Depends on how the talk goes."

"If it's about what I said yesterday, I'll change things. I'll focus more on my career. I'll-"

"Let's just talk later on, okay?"

His face visibly dropped before he nodded weakly.

The rest of the day was a blur for them both. They spent most of their time trapped in their own minds. Felix wondering why you would want to cut things off when they seemed so perfect and Sydney wondering how to arrange her words properly so he understood her well.

It was clear to everyone that something was wrong, even to the fans. Felix wasn't his bright and crazy spirit and Sydney wasn't her quiet but happy self. They both maintained nonchalant faces the whole day. Felix didn't even bother initiating conversation with the customers. The day was overall dull for everyone.

When the café finally closed for the night, Felix couldn't contain it anymore. He just needed to know why. But Sydney, on the other hand, didn't want to leave the café. She still needed more time to structure her sentence.

"Can we go now?" He asked impatiently, arms crossed in front of his chest.

She was cleaning the coffee machines the first time he asked. Technically, considering she always did it, Tori would allow her to leave it and get someone else to do it but Sydney refused to tell him that. She just reminded him that the machines weren't going to clean themselves.

The second time he asked, she was mopping the floor and the third time, she was washing the dishes. Eventually, when the fourth time came around, he lost it.

"Well can you at least tell me here then? Everyone has left. Even Tori. She left you with the key to close up!"

Sydney sighed, knowing it wasn't fair on Felix but she didn't know how to out it without hurting him.

"Felix, I can't. You know what, forget it. It's alright."

"No, it's not. I went around all of today wondering why and stressing over the talk just for you to say I should forget it? Whatever it is, tell me, I want to know how to improve or what I did wrong."

"You did nothing wrong."

"Then why are you cutting me out?" His voice was trembling miserably and Sydney felt way worse.

"I just... I don't feel it anymore. It's nothing more than a crush. This isn't love. Love doesn't exist."

Of all the ways she could have stated her reasoning, this was by far the worst. The one that broke Felix the most.

His eyes started to water.

"So you don't feel anything? Nothing? Have I been making a fool of myself all along? Was this just a game to you?"

"Felix-"

"I'm trying, Sydney. I'm trying to be the best I can. I know I have my flaws and lack a lot but I would have wished you of all people would notice it. I'm sorry I'm not good enough."

"I don't get what your problem is. I'm helping you out here. You can do for anyone you want. You can date any person you see. Why would you limit yourself to a barista?"

"Because maybe you aren't just a barista to me!" He yelled as he covered his face with his hands. "I chose you because out of all the girls out there you were the only one who liked me for me and now The Felix Lee from Blue Moon."

"I'm sorry. I'm perfectly fine with being friends though."

"I'm not. I don't want to be just a friend. You mean too much to me." He was crying now.

"I'm so sorry, Fe. I'll just leave now. The key is on the counter. You can lock up."

She began to walk to the door but he grabbed her arm. The next few moments were quick. Felix yanked at her arm which made her turn around and as soon as she did, he grabbed her face in his hands and kissed her. It was long, passionate and loving but desperate at the same time. He didn't want to lose her. She meant too much to him.

When he pulled back, he just stared in her eyes for a moment before walking out of the café.

I don't even know what's happening with this story, to be honest. I wrote this a while ago and have been focusing on Angels Fall for the moment so if everything seems out of place or too sudden, I'm sorry.
