Epilogue
It was a sunny, windy day and a crowd filled up the beach, waiting for the concert to start.
"Where are they?" Jisung complained as he glanced out at the crowd from behind the temporary stage. "We're already ten minutes behind time."
"The last person to respond was Woojin and he said they were close. That was five minutes ago," Changbin mentioned.
"Someone needs to go up and stall," Minho commented before turning to Felix. "You alright?"
Felix was standing a couple of metres away, hunched over as if about to throw up.
"I'm fine," he said between breaths as he waved them away.
"I'll stall them," Seungmin offered as he grabbed one of the mics. "I'll just sing them a song. If they aren't here by the time I finish, Jeongin's singing with me."
After agreeing on it, Seungmin stepped on stage and the crowd cheered.
About three songs were sung before Chan, Woojin and Hyunjin arrived with Sydney and her mother.
"Sorry for the delay, Chan got us lost," Hyunjin told them when they joined the rest behind the stage. Sydney and her mother went to the VIP areas which was too close to the stage for her liking. In fact, the stairs down to the stage were actually right in front of her. She felt really exposed and worried.
The boys all went on the stage moments after and revealed their individual charms.
"It's been a while, Perth," Noah smiled at Syd. "Are you alright?"
Her wounds had healed significantly by this time but they were still noticeable.
"Not really, no. What if those girls are here?"
"Whether they are or not, don't worry about it. There are security guards all over this place."
Sydney nodded before turning her attention back to the boys on the stage. How on Earth did they manage to convince her mother to let her out of the house?
She watched Felix the whole time. Something seemed to be bothering him. He would often mess up and he seemed sick. Sydney wanted to shout down to the members and tell them he was not fine and someone needed to get him off the stage but didn't have the voice to. The reason behind his strange behaviour was revealed at the end of the concert, however, when it was time for them to say their goodbyes.
"Uhm, hi everyone," Chris grinned as he waved the crowd. Screams and cheers erupted from the fans, so loud Sydney had to cover her ears. Chris chuckled a bit before continuing with his speech. "I think we are all aware of the incident that happened over the week concerning our dear friend Sydney. I just wanted to make it clear to everyone and if you have a phone on you right now, film this, let everyone know. Beating up someone is not acceptable under any circumstances. I don't care what they did, just don't do it. As the leader of this group, I am genuinely disappointed and I will even go to the extent to say I'm embarrassed to say these are my fans. And I bet none of you want that, huh? Sydney is a human and she should be respected. If ever we catch anyone doing this again whether it be Sydney or anyone else, we will take action. This is your first and only warning. Thank you."
Sydney would be lying if she said she wasn't shocked. Her heart was beating fast and she felt like she was going to be sick. The crowd seemed to agree to Chris' words and began to cheer after some of them spotted her. But the boys weren't done yet.
"When I first heard that someone would actually go to the extent to hurt her, I was both outraged and disgusted," Felix spoke as he began to walk across the stage and to where Sydney was sitting. "Guys, I'm going to be real with you. Since you're my fans, I shouldn't filter this, right? So, Sydney." He was staring directly at her now and for a split second she thought he was about to throw up. "I like you. No, I love you. And all I want is for you to be happy. I don't mind if we are dating or not. And I know I've said this before but I mean it. I'm sorry things got this messed up." He was climbing up the stairs now and Sydney was freaking out. "If it's not too much to ask for, could you possibly, hopefully, please forgive me and could we please hang out again?"
He was in front of her now, staring directly into her eyes. Some fans were cheering her on while others were quiet, awaiting her response.
"Felix-" she started but before she could continue, Olivia had pushed her forward, making her fall onto Felix. He caught her effortlessly and laughed.
"This seems awfully familiar."
She couldn't help but laugh at herself. She tried to pull herself off him but Felix refused to let go.
"So what do you say?" He asked without the mic now. Sydney stared at him for a moment before suddenly gaining a wave of confidence. She acted before she lost it and leaned her head forward to plant her lips on his.
Needless to say, the crowd went just as wild as the boys and the café workers.
Once she pulled away, she hid her face in the crook of his neck in embarrassment. Felix laughed and hugged her tighter.
"I forgive you," she whispered into his neck. "And I love you too."
