Last night I helped babysit three little cousins of mine.

Well... really two. One of them is an infant and was asleep the entire time we were there.

But the other two are FREAKING ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!

The oldest one is three years old I think. His little sister is about a year old I think. The other is seriously like two weeks old.

At first I felt like the kids didn't like me, because they didn't remember me. I mean, they're little. It's ok. But this just brought back the fear of my entire family hating me, so...

Anyway, they both warmed up to me and we had fun. The oldest little boy was upset for a while because we wouldn't let him sit in the computer chair, (he's not allowed up there) so I made him happy like this:

Me: can you clap? Can you clap clap clap? *claps his hands together*

Him: no!

Me: can you clap clap clap?

Him: no no no!

We just kept doing this until he got bored, so I said...

"Don't smile! Don't smile! Whatever you do, don't smile!!"

He couldn't stop laughing.

Another trick for slightly older kids who know their colors:

Me: what color is your shirt?

Him: blue!

Me: so... it's green?

Him: no, it's blue!

Me: so... it's purple?

Keep doing this for a while, then finally say:

"So... its blue?" (Or whatever the right color is)

Him: yes!!

Repeat with other objects or clothes
