Dear readers,

I honestly still can't believe that this story is over. Barebone Witches holds a very dear place in my heart and Maev is one of the first characters that I created that I felt like everyone would be able to love in some way. It had been a long time since I felt like I could dedicate myself to fic and wholeheartedly pour everything I had into it, and this fic was the one to break me out of my writing slump and show me that yes, I can complete stories and yes, I can still write and that I honestly may one day be able to be a published author. I know this is a fanfic, but it's one step closer to my life-long dream and I just want to thank each and every one of you for your support.

Every comment, every vote, every interaction I've had via this fic has been so so so amazing and I've loved getting to know many of you through your comments. Thank you all so much for supporting Maev and James throughout their journey, this story is one that I have loved writing and will cherish forever.

Q&A!

Q: Will James and Maev ever have kids?

A: Eventually, yes, but not for a few more years. Throughout this fic I try to show them slowly healing from the inner demons and past, and while they're doing much better at the end they still have a little ways to go before they're ready to even think about having a child.

Q: If they do have kids, how many, what would their names be, etc?

A: Realistically speaking, they would have either one or two kids, but no more than two.

If it was a girl: Liana Natasha Barnes with childhood nicknames being "little star" and "miss sassafrass" (because let's be real she'd be sassy as hell), and when she's older "Lia" or "Tasha". There would be a 50% chance the girl would be a witchling. 

If it was a boy: Jasper Steven Barnes with childhood nicknames being "firecracker" and "lil' boss" (the latter dubbed by Sam who would definitely be the godfather hehe)  and when he's older "Jas". There would be a 25% chance the boy would be a witchling.

And of course, the godfather would be the one and only Sam Wilson while the godmother(s) would be Wanda and Shuri (at this point I'm assuming Shuri would be in her mid-twenties btw).

Q: When does the epilogue take place?

A: the epilogue (chapter 22) takes place in 2026, 3 years after Endgame 

Q: Do the initials of the graffiti artist mean something or are they just for fun?

A: The initials of the graffiti artist belong to a character in another one of my fics that is loosely connected to this one, so it's just a fun little easter egg I figured I'd add in!

Q: Is this fic connected to any of your other marvel fics?

A: Yes! Barebone Witches and Deja Vu take place in the same 'universe' meaning Maev will be mentioned and, eventually, seen in that fic but she will not play a major role in that fic, more of a supporting role near the end since she does help Sam mentor some of the younger Avengers from time to time. Empyrean is not connected to either of these fics, I consider it a standalone, especially since it spans from pre-thor to post-endgame. 

Q: Will you ever add more to this fic or create a sequel?

A: There will be no sequel, but as I mentioned before, Maev will make appearances in Deja Vu and depending on if the Winter Soldier and the Falcon tv show inspire me I may create a few bonus chapters and post them here. No promises though ;)
