Children are meant to be seen and not heard, that's what they've always told me. I kept quiet, until my silence deafened their ears.
I never really had much to say about the surreal occurrences that I witnessed. Being in the presence of things worth more money than I could ever imagine; things I'd only ever seen in films. Even they didn't set me up for the reality of crime.
I was the silent witness, who never told.
Somehow the phrase, "No comment."; drove them up the walls and I started wondering to myself how long it had been since my voice box had quivered a noise louder than a single breath.
Aidan made me promise to keep my mouth tightly shut, because he knew that I would blab his darkest secrets.
It would ruin him, it would ruin her, but it could possibly be the greatest decision she could possibly have the chance of making.
I knew information that could destroy a business that supported my lifeline. I could expose him to the world; once I'd worked up enough courage to do so.
"If you ever tell a living soul, what we did in Portugal; I'll personally make sure you'll live a life of pure misery. Death would be simply too easy. Don't say I didn't warn you, Lun."
Lunetta's body spasmed at the thought of his choking words. She sat in the interrogation office of the local police station, unable to fumble her thoughts into audible noise.
She never thought that she would be the one to confirm that her closest form to a real family, would betray her freedom of speech.
