As they embarked off the plane Angie could feel a flutter of dragonflies reproducing in her stomach. It was too uncomfortable to feel like butterflies and she knew that they were due to her nerves becoming uncontrollable again.
"Honey, we're here. You can relax a little can't you." Dave brushed his hand against her back in an attempt to calm her.
Her lip began to quiver a little less after this reassurance, but he could still sense her muscles constrict due to the stress of the situation.
"It's just she's here all by herself and I can't imagine how that ..."
"Passports please." The tanned gentleman at passport control who's name was apparently 'Sebastián' interrupted their conversation. Dave was relieved and gave the chap a knowing smile at which Sebastián raised his eyebrows cheekily.
Sebastián was star-gazingly attractive even Aidan had to admit it.
"What brings you to my beautiful country?" Sebastián appeared to be flirting with Dave's wife but he didn't mind as long as she pretended to be a little more under control.
His accent was even having an impact on Dave, it was so welcoming and friendly.
Aidan even was surprised to feel more at ease by Sebastián's playful nature.
"Visiting a little girl called Lunetta." She informed him in a monotone voice, but she couldn't help a smile sprout across her face as she spoke the vibrant name of that very special little girl.
"She must mean a lot for you to come and visit her especially all the way from Italia." He fluttered his eyelashes eloquently, he definitely posses the Spanish charm Angie thought to herself.
"She does indeed," Dave replied as he grabbed the passports and led the way to the baggage claim carousel. Neither of them had noticed Aidan's cheeks flush at the mention of Lunetta.
"Have a good trip Senorita." Sebastián enunciated the last phrase so that it rolled off his tongue effortlessly.
Dave cleared his throat in an effort to interrupt the inappropriate comment which was directed at Angie.
"You too amigos." Sebastián winked at them before they headed for the luggage carousel.
After they had waited another prolonged half an hour to grab their bags they headed for the airport exit which was a lot larger than their previous one they'd left in Rome.
Aidan could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he tried to spot a relatively tall and pretty blonde girl; from the description his parents had enticed him with.
He realised how difficult it was when most of the females surrounding him met that interpretation, although he knew that this particular blonde had irresistible lavender coated irises. They were a blend of blue and purple and Aidan loved the idea that they were so unique.
After having kept an eye out for her Aidan decided that he would head back to the worried expressions that were decorated across his parents faces.
He felt a lot more laid back than either of them, it was obvious from their uptight body language and crinkled foreheads.
"Should have napped on the plane." Aidan murmured to Dave, who scowled at his immature mocking comment.
It was obvious that Angie hadn't slept a wink as her face was white as a sheet and she wore dark bags under her hazel eyes. She still managed to look stylish despite the frown that submerged her attire.
"I hope she turns up soon." Aidan murmured to himself.
Aidan hadn't noticed that a young, enchanting young lady was encased in the arms of his father.
She wore a flowered dress that complimented her tanned complexion and made her blonde streaked hair appear lighter than it usually was; her most noticeable distinction was the scar above her left eyebrow.
She'd knocked over a plant pot when she was five years old and now had a mark on her forehead to remind any spectator that she was damaged goods.
Lunes.
She turned her head to the side as her eyes locked onto Aidan's; her baby face had matured since they'd last seen each other. She looked charming, more grown up and yet the same cheerful expression reminds Aidan who she was.
An excited grin grew across her face as she became aware who the handsome taller-than-she-remembered-boy was. His expression initially blank returned her shy smile as he too recognised her for the first time in what felt like forever.
She projected her body forwards out of the accepting hands of Dave and haphazardly bumped into Aidan head on.
"Ouch." They both voiced in unison and then proceeded to thrive inside a pool of laughter as they descended to towards the floor at a rapid pace.
She hadn't anticipated him to have felt so solid against her fragile and still developing little frame.
They both collapsed onto the floor into a pile of limbs and tangled bodies. Aidan took their moment of privacy to greet her.
"Lunetta." He whispered gleefully. " I missed you."
"I missed you too Aidan." She bit her lip as her eyes met his blue globes for the second time.
"How have you been?" He inquired.
"I've been better Addy and how about you? You've grown at least a foot since I last saw you." She bit her lip again as he examined her face more closely now. She looked the spitting image of her grandmother Aidan realised.
"Soccer helps." He scoffed as his cheeks rose in colour again at her compliment and decided to give his old friend a hug whilst they were inconveniently still sitting on the floor.
This must have taken her by complete suprise as she noticeably sucked in a breath of air and then relayed an inner thought.
"It embarrasses me to admit Addy that I haven't been able to stop thinking about you lately." The petite girl turned a darker shade of rouge which made her look adorable as her eyelashes fluttered blissfully
"Really?" Aidan's voice raised in pitch as he was genuinely surprised by her response.
"Is it weird to admit that?"
"Not at all," Aidan confirmed, "Surprisingly I've had a few dreams about you recently. I can't figure out why yet."
