A smile went across my face as my Sargent stood in front of me. "Good news Bardock," I cocked a brow at him. "You're going home son," I felt excited knowing I got to go home after five years of military training. I shook his hand, he had a smile as I left for my bunker. I packed my things, all my other brothers smiling. "Going home so soon?" I nodded, "yeah, I'm gonna miss you guys though." They all laughed, "don't get soft! You just got done with training, you'll see us all again!" They all agreed with each other, I gave a half grinned face. "Thank you guys, you made it bearable for me to stay this long." Tora stood up, a smile on his face, "it's not a problem Bardock." He pulled me into a hug, I took it with a grin as he pulled my head down to his waist and rubbed his fist into my hair. We all laughed, "got anyone special when you get home?" Borgos asked, I just shook my head. "No, I was actually thinking about getting a girlfriend when I get back home." Tora put a hand on my shoulder, "here." He handed me a letter, "what's this?" He smiled, "it's something from all of us, it has where we'll all be staying and our numbers. If you ever need anything Bardock, give one of us a call." I fought back the urge to cry and I looked at the envelope. "Thank you guys," I spoke out shakily, they just nodded. I grabbed my bag and left, finally able to go home and see my family.

The pod ride back to the planet was long, getting back to the pod station and I stepped out. I carried my bag over my shoulder, looking around at the city as I walked back to my childhood home. I got to the home, knocking on the door, waiting for an answer. I felt anxious for the answer, I hadn't seen them in forever.

When the door opened, I was greeted by my mother. "Bardock," She spoke out quietly, tears coming to her eyes as I smiled. I set my bag down and hugged her, she hugged me tightly. "I'm so glad you're home," She spoke, I chuckled. "I'm fine mom, trust me," She pulled away, looking at me with a smile. Tears fell from her eyes as I picked my bag up, walking inside. I took my bag to my old room, looking around at my old stuff. I heard a knock on my door frame, I turned around and saw my dad. "Hey dad," He had a smile. "About time you come home," I chuckled, walking up to him. He put his hand on my shoulder, looking down at me. "Son, I am glad you came home." I laughed, "thanks dad!" He ruffled my hair as we walked out to the living room, my mom was now crying heavily. "Bardock, bad news," She spoke through tears. "What's wrong?" Me and my dad looked at each other, "planet Vegeta just went into war." My heart sank, "they called for you to be there immediately at Planet Kanassa for recruitment." I felt angry, "I don't want to!" My dad put his hand on my shoulder again. "This is to keep your home planet safe Bardock." I thought about it and nodded, then my dad turned to me, getting eye level with me. "No matter what happens Bardock, just know, I'm always gonna be proud of you, no matter how much you think I'm not. I may not show it but I love you son, you go out there and show those enemies not to mess with a saiyan!" I smiled, hugging my mom and dad as I rushed out the door, making it to the pod station.

I got in my designated pod and took off for the planet, staring back at what I called home.
