Eggshell Life

LifeNot for the one I love 

Not for anyone 

 Will I walk on eggshells again

 If you think I might 

 Right now might be the time to say goodbye 

Love does have a limit, you see 

 It all depends on the happiness it brings 

 The eggshell life grew old 

 In that time, each day I grew bold 

 Some days nothing can stop me 

 Some days it's all I can do to breathe. 

The eggshell life isn't one I want to live anymore 

 That door is now closed 

 I won't look behind me one time 

 Even after I say goodbye 

 Take one last look into those beautiful eyes 

The ones I'd hoped would carry me into forever 

 But now I realize forever is a fantasy 

 That isn't always meant to be. 

The eggshell life isn't good for my heart 

 Not after all the times you ripped it apart

 I've learned so much about myself that I never saw 

And saw the strength that I never knew I had. 

Those pieces have super glue 

 But that glue doesn't come from you. 

 The eggshells I walked on 

 Are the ones I want to be forever gone.
