[ vuit ]

[ vuit ] in which he makes her a deal

Marc made sure to stay away from her house for a few days. His idea of following her on twitter had been a fail, and he knew it the moment she refused to follow him back. And it wasn't that she didn't want to follow him back, but she knew she would be getting plenty of hate from all the Barcelona fans that liked Marc, mostly the female population of his fans.

He didn't see Ashley until a few days had passed. It was on a day in which he decided to walk to practice, when he passed her house once again.

"Hey Barça boy!" She called from the front porch as she watched him pass her. He had been pretending not to see her, but of course he noticed her. He watched her from the corner of his eye. Ashley had been sitting on her front porch, enjoying the nice day. But deep down, Valerie suspected her friend's reasons for sitting outside were to find an opportunity to argue with Marc Bartra.

Turning towards her, he shot her a smirk. "Now you want to talk to me."

Crossing her arms over her chest in annoyance and rolling her eyes at him, she responded, "Its impossible to speak to someone like you. Why bother?" Ashley got up from her spot on the front porch and motioned to head for the front door.

But there was one thing that stopped her, and that was Marc's voice. "Geez, you're even bitchier than before. It must be because Madrid lost the other day." The Barcelona footballer pointed out with a bit too much amusement. "Where was your precious Ronaldo then?" The Catalán was enjoying himself, poking fun at her team's expense. And at least, he thought, he had a leg to stand on because Barcelona had won their game that weekend, while Real Madrid hadn't.

"You..." She paused when she couldn't think of anything to say. "You're a jerk." Was her only comeback after a short while.

"Oh," He scoffed, "When you make fun of my team its okay, but when I make fun of your team its wrong?"

Ashley nodded, "That's exactly it."

"Look Ashley," He began, standing awkwardly on her front yard. He wasn't sure if it was safe to take a step towards her, not when she was upset over the loss of her team. He knew there were people who were very passionate when it came to futbol. "I didn't come here to bother you about your loser team..."

"Then why are you here?" She eyed him with a glare, interrupting him.

"I came to make you a deal." He said simply.

"Oh?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah," He continued, looking down at his hands as he explained what he meant, "Ashley, I really really like you. And I know you don't date Barça boys, but its that kind of attitude that will leave you friendless and alone." He stopped, taking his words in a different direction before he could make her mad. "A person's a person, no matter what team they play or cheer for; a great team like FCB or a bad team like Real."

"Stop beating around the bush." Ashley groaned.

"I want to ask you out on a date. And if that date doesn't work out, I'll give up and stop bothering you." He blurted out, "I'll do anything to get you to agree."

She raised an eyebrow at him, brown eyes hopeful. "A meet and greet with Ronaldo?"

"Uh..." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. He almost regretted making the offer. He expected her response, but didn't think she would actually ask for it. "I don't know if I'd be able to do that."

"Right." She snorted. "You don't have the connections for that. You're only Marc Bartra. He's Cristiano Ronaldo."

He eyed her, a hint of outrage in his eyes. "I'm going to pretend I didn't just hear you stab my honor like that." He said, adding the question, "Anyone else on the team?" He hoped it would be someone he could possibly get for her. Someone that was also part of the Spanish National team, which would make things a whole lot easier for the Barcelona footballer.

She thought about it for a moment. If it were possible, she prefered to meet the entire team. There wasn't one player in Real Madrid that she didn't like. She scanned over the team roster in her mind, finally making her decision, "I will go on a date with you, if you can get Sergio Ramos over here."

"Deal." He quickly agreed.

"Okay." She told him, "This Saturday, pick me up at five."

"I have a game Saturday afternoon." He pointed out.

"Sunday then." She offered another option. "Real Madrid plays on Saturday too and I don't want to miss it."

The young woman said nothing more to him and headed into her house. Marc remained there a few minutes, a broad smile on his lips. He was internally cheering because he finally had a date with Ashley. Before continuing down his path towards the training ground, he brought his cellphone out of his pocket and dialed Sergio's phone number.

His team mate from the national team answered after a few rings. "Marc? You never call me."

"I need a huge favor." Marc began into the phone.

"Okay." Sergio said, a bit hesitant.

"I have this girl I want to win over, and-"

"You need tips?" Sergio guessed.

"No!" Marc half-exclaimed.

"Then what?"

"She's a Real Madrid fan." Marc began to explain. "And I promised that if she went on a date with me, I could get you over here to meet her."
