9; spring romance 🌸

Summer was long over and I have spent all of my days on training which was now tolerable enough for me since I am now getting along fine with Jungkook as long as I strictly keep the conversation about training. I refrained from making him mad by not talking back to him and just holding onto my tongue since he was captain which means he has the authority over me even if he was the same age as me. Don't get me wrong though. I would take him on any day but, you know, nowadays I'm just too tired and lazy.

It's the beginning of another semester of school again. Everytime a new semester begins, the principal would gather all the faculty and students for an assembly, which was more or less a very long and boring speech about not giving up and making the school proud, shit like that.

I hated the fact that I had to wear the spring uniform again, a shorter skirt and a blouse with a ribbon of the school's colors, because it made my skin stand out. Due to the intensive practices over the summer, I got a slight tan. I am thankful that the redness on my skin calmed down a bit after resting at home for a week before school started.

Early this morning, the students filled up the hall where the assembly is to be held. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed my teammates with their respective classes and in their neat uniforms. A smile played along my lips, thinking how nice they look compared to how they are during practice but then there he was.

The smile was wiped away from my face when our gazes connected. I quickly looked away when he raised an eyebrow at me, looking cocky as hell.

Jungkook smirked, standing a few rows in front, her back to him. He couldn't help but watch her talk with her classmates. His eyes follow her as she walked past him, making her way to their classroom. Little did she know that, she would be seeing a lot more of him this semester.

"Hey, isn't that Jungkook?" One of my friends nudged me, making me lift my head to watch Jungkook make his way to his desk which was right beside mine.

I stared at him for a moment and he was completely ignoring me, "Why are we classmates?" I started.

Jungkook turned to me with a resting bitch face, "Are you talking informally to me?"

"No captain." I replied quickly, by instinct, and then he smiled. With that, I realized I didn't have to call him captain. I felt so stupid so I just turned away from him and faced the window in shame.

"Oh my gosh he's so cute when he smiles." My classmate who sat behind Jungkook squealed. "Hey Vee, can you introduce me to him? You two look close."

I pretended as if I didn't hear her but Jungkook , that dumbass boy, answered for me, "I spent every day of my summer with her. How close do you think we are?"

He purposely said it out lout and the other girls gasped in response, followed by a chorus of whispers. I glared at Jungkook who was smiling by himself.

A pat came on my shoulder, "You're so lucky." She said with her cherry painted lips, "I should join the team too."

"Yeah, you can try out.." I only smiled awkwardly at her, wishing that my best friend was in the same class as me so she could listen to me vent out my anger by cursing Jeon Jungkook.

"Pipe down, class." Our homeroom teacher came in. "This semester, you will have a new classmate."

The whole class erupted into whispers. There actually was a rumor going around before vacation started. It was about someone famous coming to study in our school. Syd and I talked about it but soon shrugged the whole thing off because it simply didn't make sense. Why would anyone famous stoop so low and enroll themselves in this school?

"Mr. Tuan, come in." Our homeroom teacher said.

My head shot up and my eyes followed that person casually walking into my class. The class got even more loud as he spoke and introduced himself shamelessly with a huge smile. He looked in my direction and held gazes with me for a moment but I broke it off quickly, looking out the window.

"I said quiet down class." Ms. Hwang raised her voice and waited for the students to settle their excited asses down. "Mark, you can sit behind Miss Yoo."

🌸

I was extremely relieved and so happy that classes ended early for the first day of the semester because I would've died on the spot if I had to sit on my desk for another hour. However, I still had to report to the homeroom teacher for other instructions because, for some unknown reason, I was unluckily voted as the new class president.

I was sweating as I tap my foot nervously against the floor, waiting for the teacher to let me go because I'm already late for practice. I could envision Jungkook's face as I ran to the locker room, quickly changing into my practice clothes. I hurried got out but then I saw him outside, waiting for me.

"Hey." He gave me a smile. I walked passed him with no intention of wasting my time but he caught my arm, "Will please stop ignoring me?"

I pulled my arm back, "What do you want?"

"Just a five minutes without you being mad at me." Mark answered, he looked pathetic.

"Why? Are you tired of your stupid popularity now that you decided to move back here and fuck with me again?" I countered and he looked hurt by it. "Well, I don't have the luxury to waste even a second with you."

The team already started their routine. I looked around and jumped when I found Jungkook behind me. Where the hell did he come from?

"What time is it?" He began, hands on his hips.

I gulped hard, "I'm sorry I was late. I had to drop by the faculty to-"

"I don't give a fuck. I had one rule and remember I told you what would happen if you broke that rule?" Jungkook countered, staring down intensely at me. "Give me 20 laps around the field. NOW."

I gave him a glare but started to run immediately. The other guys could only watch because they have their own practice and because the coach directly told them that Jungkook would be training me which meant they can't butt in on whatever Jungkook decides to do with me.

"Jungkook, isn't that too much? She wasn't that late.." Jin said, sympathizing with me as I run my ass around the field.

Jungkook didn't answer. He was just mad for no reason after he saw her talking to the new guy back outside the locker room. He shrugged off his seniors concern and began running too.

Jungkook caught up with me and we ran side by side, "Come on, pick up the pace! Don't tell me you're tired already? Run faster!"

I promised that I wouldn't talk back but today I just had to. I've had it with the bullshit, "What do you think I'm doing?"

Unexpectedly, Jungkook ignored my sudden burst of anger and just let it slide. We both finished 20 laps and went for a short rest before I started with the training Jungkook prepared for me.

The team was done with practice but Jungkook and I were still going long after they've left. He kept pushing me to my limit until I was totally maxed out. I collapsed on the grass, panting and just so close to passing out.

"It's only when you push yourself beyond your limit that you're going to get better results." Jungkook said as he stood over me. He placed a bottle of water and a towel beside me. The lights went on in the field and I saw his face more clearly. A fairly nice view.

I pushed yourself up and stood before him, "Why are you so determined to make my life a living hell? What did I ever do to you?"

"Why?" He replied. "Do you want to quit now?"

I was taken aback by the sudden change in the way he looked at me. There was no anger or anything, he just looked me in the eye.

"You're still a long way from hell." He said calmly. "So what will it be, barbie?"

"I'm not quitting. Not in your dreams." I managed to say, keeping a straight face but, in reality, I was already wavering inside.

Jungkook continued to stare at me blankly. He opened his water bottle and handed it to me. "Good."
