42; stay with me 🌸

"Alright everyone, let's stretch then hit the lockers afterwards. I have something to say." Coach announced. We slowed to a stop and huddled together in a circle to start the cool down stretch.

I wanted to have a peaceful stretching time but, of course that's not what happened. The longer I was with them, the more I blend in and their male instincts began to dull around me. In simpler terms, they've already recognized me as one of their own. These idiots literally just start talking about what's on their minds without any filter.

"Hey guys. Who has a bigger butt, Vee or that new librarian?" Jimin grinned with his face upside down as we all laid down on the grass in, the middle of stretching our lower body in a twist. "But all those squats make Vee more superior in a sense."

"I agree." Namjoon seconded and then Taehyung.

"Nah, I'm more into fleshy, soft butts." Jin replied. "You know. Like when you feel it jiggling. Anyone get me?"

The boys all tried to look at me to decide on their own and it made me feel terribly conscious. "I'm actually right here, you know! And that's basically sexual harassment."

"Oh come on. We didn't actually do any harm." Jimin spoke up and I was so close to clawing his face off. "Jungkook's not complaining."

"Well, first of all, it's not his body." I said as we switched legs, twisting the left one while keeping our backs flat on the ground. "And second, how would you feel if I talked about your private parts to other girls?"

"I'd be flattered." Jimin grinned. "That means I'm doing something good with it."

"Not necessarily." Hoseok joined in with an undertone in his voice that made the other guys chuckle.

"If we're talking about statistics and probability." Namjoon said. "Girls most often talk about a guy's sex organ if they're good with it or if they have an inferior measurement."

"Nicely worded, man." Yoongi laughed and, I did too. I don't feel a bit guilty.

"Shut up, Yoongi. I hope your dick dries up and fall off like a baby's umbilical cord." Jimin sent Yoongi a glare.

"How does a dick dry up?" Taehyung spoke and wondered to himself.

"You don't have to imagine it." Jungkook told him as we finished up and moved to the last part.

When stretching was done, I stood up and dusted my back. I need to get a shower after this. I want to get home as soon as I can but my skin feels so sticky with sweat and dirt. The coach called everyone in the locker room and reminded us of our tasks during the upcoming week long break.

"Now having a break for one week doesn't mean you're off the hook. All of you should still train on your own everyday. Don't let your body get cold, understand?" He said and we all answered in chorus. Coach dismissed us and went back to his office, saying that he has some things to do so we can go home ahead of him.

The boys all hit the shower while I have to go to the girl's locker room to be able to clean myself. Being alone in the shower room felt kind of relaxing but eerie at the same time. Every time I close my eyes to prevent soap suds from coming into my eyes and blinding me, I see a scary picture of a dirty, wrinkled hand with long nails reaching to touch my hair. Then I end up, opening my eyes immediately.

I rinsed quickly and told myself I'll take a longer shower when I get home. All the stories I heard about haunted shower rooms are creeping up into my head. They said they sometimes hear a woman crying and other times, they hear small, pitter patter footsteps from a child running around.

One of the pipes made a weird noise that sent chills along my back. I grabbed my towel and dried myself up as fast as I could. I wore my gym clothes without bothering to thoroughly dry my hair before running out of the locker room.

"That was quick."

I clutched at my chest when I ran into Jungkook outside of the girl's locker room. He was taken by surprise when he saw the look on my face. I didn't know how I looked to him but I was relieved. "What's up? You look pale."

"What are you doing here?!" I raised my voice at him. Despite being relieved, my heart was still racing.

"I was waiting for you to finish your shower so we can go home together." Jungkook looked a bit annoyed. "Am I not allowed to do that?"

"Y-You can. Geez, why are you sensitive?" I said as he walked ahead of me. I was trying to keep up with his pace but he wouldn't slow down so I grabbed the hem of his shirt. "Jungkook."

"What?" He haughtily turned his head to look at me.

"I didn't mean to yell at you." I told him and he sighed.

"I know. I didn't mean to get mad at you too." His face became more relaxed. "There was just something on my mind."

"What was it?" I asked instinctively. Jungkook didn't seem comfortable enough to tell me so I just let it pass. I gave him a smile. "If you can't tell me that's fine. There are things that you need to keep to yourself after all. Like guy stuff. I also have girl things that I can't say to you."

Jungkook nodded, still looking at me. He lifted his hand and touched the ends of my hair. "You didn't dry your hair completely."

"Ah, I was in a hurry." I laughed it off. I can't tell him I was running away from my imagination. "It's fine though."

Jungkook opened his sports bag and took a small towel out. He offered it to me. "I didn't use this so you can use it."

"Thanks." I took it and dried my hair with it as we walked out together. Sometimes, he can be really thoughtful and kind but there are times when he's aloof.

"You live alone, right?" I tried to initiate small talk because he's just silent. It's awkward.

"Yeah, I've been living by myself since I started highschool." Jungkook replied but that's all he said. I want to get to know him but it seems as though he doesn't want to talk about his family. "So you do everything by yourself?"

Jungkook gave me a nod.

"That's cool." Was all I could say. This conversation is dying. I should say something else!

I glanced at his emotionless expression and I wondered why he's suddenly behaving like this. "Hey, are you okay?"

He lifted his head and met my eyes as if he just noticed that I'm still beside him. Jungkook suddenly laughed. It sounded forced. "Of course, I am."

"You're really not honest." I told him, making his facade disappear. "You know so much about me yet I don't know anything about you. It's not fair."

Jungkook and I stopped walking when we reached an intersection. We just stood quietly beside each other while waiting for the pedestrian signal to turn green. I regretted saying that to him. I sounded so childish and annoying. There must be a reason why he can't be honest with me.

"I live alone after my parents passed away." Jungkook spoke up. I already heard about it from Hoseok. "I don't have a family that's why I don't like talking about it."

"I'm not proud of the things I'm supposed to tell you but this is the truth." He added with a small smile. "Living alone is not a decision I chose for myself. I live alone because no one wanted to take me in but that's okay. I learned to be independent because of it so it worked out for the best."

"Jungkook, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have forced you." I felt like a bad person. I only wanted to know about him.

He shook his head to tell me that it's alright. "It's about time I told you anyway. I could show you where I live if you still want to know."

The light flashed green but we didn't cross the road. I followed Jungkook to where he lived. "Is it really okay?"

Jungkook nodded with a smile. "I can't keep avoiding this."

So we walked together to his house. He was holding my hand so it felt okay somehow. We entered a neighborhood where most of the houses were for the higher class. I heard that Jungkook's family was more than average but I never imagined that he belonged to this class. He didn't boast about it though. I never would've known if he didn't offer to tell me.

He stopped in front a huge black gate and I halted a few steps behind him. Jungkook took a key out from his bag and pressed a button to open the gate. He glanced back at me and gestured that it was okay to enter. I was still holding his hand as we came inside the property.

The house had a lengthy driveway from the gate with trees lined up on either side and at the end of the driveway, hidden behind the branches of trees and unkept shrubs, was a huge building. It's not what you call a regular house. It could be a mansion.

"You live here by yourself?" I asked him while walking to the house itself.

"I do. Everyday for the past three years." Jungkook replied. "I haven't let anyone in here aside from you."

"Are you telling me that no one knows about this? But me?" I exclaimed. He trusts me that much? "Why?"

"You'll know soon enough." He chuckled.

We got to the front door and he opened it with a key. As expected it was fully furnished and everything looked like it would cost a few thousand. Jungkook turned on the lights and I immediately noticed the papers stuck on each furniture.

"Those are notices." Jungkook told me when I was looking at one of them. "Everything here was taken by the bank except for a few of my things and this property itself."

Taken by the bank that means.. I glanced back at his face to make sure that I heard it right. Jungkook sighed. "It was to pay for the debt. My father's younger brother sold most of the things here without my consent to pay for his gambling debt."

"I had no choice but to surrender them when the bank came to seize them." Jungkook scratched at the back of his neck. "I'm glad I found out early though or else my uncle would've sold the house too and the whole property that my parents worked hard for. It's all I have left now and the few remaining money they have saved up for my future."

"All these stuff will be taken tomorrow then this house will really be empty." He added, looking around fondly. "I wish I could keep them. They held so many good memories."

Before I knew it, my body moved on it's own. I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him. "You should've told me all of this earlier."

"I didn't know how to tell you. I honestly didn't have the courage to tell anyone that I was in such a huge debt." Jungkook placed one hand on the back of my head, "I feel better now that you know."

"I'm scared of ghosts." I told him. I just thought I'd share a secret of mine too. Although it's not much of a secret.

"What?"

I pulled away from him to look at his face. "That's my secret."

"Pfft." Jungkook covered his mouth with his hand as his shoulders began to shake uncontrollably.

"Don't laugh! I said that to make you feel better! You idiot!" I pushed him lightly but he wouldn't stop.

"Was that why you looked like you saw a ghost earlier?" He chuckled more. "Because you're scared of a ghost?"

"Hey! The ghosts in my imagination are scary!" I defended, "Stop laughing. That's rude. I didn't laugh at you when you said you're poor. Well, you're not exactly poor.."

"But this is different." Jungkook said with tears in the corner of his eyes. I waited until he was done. "You kind of ruined the mood but that was a good laugh. I feel a hundred times better."

"Ghosts are real. I've read testimonies from real people." I told him even though I looked like a fool.

"Okay, they're real if you say so." Jungkook showed me a smile as he cupped my face with both of his hands. "Let's get you home now."

"You better not tell anyone." I warned.

He grinned as we walked together. "I won't tell a soul."

"Ha ha you want to be a comedian now?" I sarcastically laughed with him.

Jungkook looked happier now compared to earlier. I'm glad I could make him laugh. His laughter died down after awhile then he reached for my hand, intertwining our fingers together.

"Will you stay with me until we get old?" Jungkook asked me out of the blue. "Right now, I don't have anything to offer you but I promise I'll work harder so I can be someone you'll be proud of someday."

I nodded towards him. "I'm not much myself so I'll need to work hard too."

"I'll protect you from ghosts." He smiled so sweetly.

"And I'll try not to casually break your skull." I returned his smile cause I'm not going to lose. Fight me, bitch.

"Thinking about it still hurts, you know." Jungkook frowned as he felt the scar on his head. "But you did have a nice swing though."
