40; bro love 🌸
"WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE BEING TARGETED IN DODGEBALL??!" Jimin cried out as he barely avoided getting hit by Yoongi and Jungkook's throws.
"Take this, you fool! HAHAHAHA" Yoongi cackled in a really ugly manner as he launched two balls at once towards Jimin while Taehyung quizzed him on English. His least favorite subject.
"What do you call a word, letter or number placed before another word?" Taehyung questioned Jimin from the sidelines. "Come on, Jimin, you know this!"
"HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW THAT??" Jimin yelled and tripped on his shoes, falling on his chest first on the ground with an umph.
Taehyung sighed and scratched the back of his head, "That is why we are studying. That is the whole purpose of this. If you don't take this seriously, how are we supposed to make progress?"
"It's a prefix, you dumbass! Even I know that." Jungkook almost hits him with a ball, just inches away from his face. "One more time!!"
"Are you sure it's going to work?" I questioned Namjoon who is sitting beside me while we both watch everything unfolding in front of our eyes. "Jimin looks more stressed than ever.. I think they should stop."
"Level.. of difficulty.. too high." Namjoon was busy noting down his observations on his notebook before he calls out to Jungkook and Yoongi. "Guys, let's stop the dodgeball for today."
"Dammit. Why??" Yoongi had both hands on his waist. "Right when I was beginning to have fun.."
"Um, last time I checked, this isn't for your entertainmaint, Yoongi." I just said it then and there which Yoongi completely ignored.
"Thank you. Someone has heard my prayers. Thank you, God." Jimin was on his knees, catching his breath. He lifts his head up and had tears around his eyes. "Please, make it stop. I promise, I will study hard from now on."
"Are you seriously crying?" I helped him stand up and dust his clothes. Jimin's arms pulled me down while he clung to me.
"Please call Syd and tell her to take me home!" He bawled.
The sound of a motorcycle's engine stole everyone's attention and we all turned around to see Hoseok mounting off his motorbike and removing his helmet. He walked towards us with a paper bag in hand. "We're going home already? I just bought burgers though."
"Yay! Burgers!" Taehyung skipped towards Hoseok and met him halfway. "So there's one for everyone except Jimin because burgers are not ideal for studying. No omega 3, not good."
Jimin's spirit died a third time today when he is deprived of a burger from his favorite fast food joint. Taehyung ran over to his bag and took out a lunchbox. "Instead! I prepared a nutritious lunch for you. Here's your lunch box. Bon appétit!
"What is this?" Jimin's face lost all color, looking down at the fried rice. He used his finger to pick up a piece of vegetable. "There's a whole carrot in here.. and why is there an unpeeled banana here?"
"It's nutrients, Jimin. Don't complain." Taehyung replied with his mouth full. "Don't worry. I cut those bananas in cubes so you can eat them. Aren't I considerate?"
Jimin raised the lunchbox over his head and about to throw it on the ground when Namjoon caught his arm in time. "Who the fuck cares about nutrients?! You can't put fucking unpeeled bananas in fucking fried rice! Bananas don't even go along with rice!"
"Calm down, Jimin. You can come back with me to the house for dinner." Namjoon got the lunchbox out of his hands and checked it for himself. "What's this powdery stuff?"
Taehyung glanced over at Namjoon. "Oh that's protein powder. I figured Jimin should also have protein in his diet."
"And this?" Jungkook opened another container with some kind of soup in it. "Why are there floating capsules in it?"
"Oh that's the Omega 3 capsules!" Taehyung shrugged. "I added extra just in case."
"Just in case what? Just in case I don't die on the first one?" Jimin exclaimed and then crouched beside the bench, hugging his knees to his chest. "He wants to kill me."
"Is he going to be okay?" I asked Hoseok.
He put his hand on my shoulder, showing me a smile. "It's just a temporary breakdown. He'll be fine."
"Hey, there's smoke coming out from Jungkook's body!! Is this precipitation?" Taehyung informed us. "Jimin take notes!"
"Ah, sorry, Kook!" Hoseok noticed that Jungkook's aura changed and he immediately removed his hand from my shoulder. "I swear I didn't have any intentions."
Yoongi then leaned over to whisper something to Jungkook. Jungkook looked pissed as he made his way to me. I highly suspect that Yoongi said some shit again but I'll ignore him for now. Hoseok used me as a shield as he hid behind my back. "It was a force of habit, Kook. Can you not glare at me like that? It's a little scary."
"Vee." Jungkook's voice was stern and an octave lower. "Can we talk? In private?"
"What?" I turned to face him with an intense glare and cracked my knuckles. "You got something you want to say? If it's not important, I will deal with it later."
"O-Okay." Jungkook was confused. He thought he was the one who was mad but his emotions changed so he just stood stiffly beside me. "Hey, you know, you kind of look like a yakuza right now."
"What." I told him. "Did you say?"
"On second thought. It's nothing." He replied, looking down at my balled up fist. "You can relax your hands now.."
"Alright everyone. Since today has been a long day, let's have dinner at my house." Namjoon announced and they all cheered in chorus.
"I love your sister, Namjoon." Taehyung smiled casually as he told Namjoon.
"What?" Namjoon asked. He didn't look quite happy. "My sister is only in the fourth grade."
"He means your sister's cooking." Jimin translated to Namjoon. "It's a typo. You know, Tae can't speak properly sometimes."
"Ah, I knew that." Namjoon laughed it off as a joke, relaxing his shoulders. "I was so close to punching Taehyung though. Thanks for clearing that up Jimin. I try to avoid violence as much as I can."
"Damn. I shouldn't have told him." Jimin cursed under his breath, missing the opportunity to get his revenge.
So we ate the burgers at Namjoon's house while we wait for his sister to finish cooking. I offered to help Hajoon but I kind of get the feeling that she hates me. I don't know what I did though. She seems like a nice and friendly girl but when it comes to me it's like her personality changes. Namjoon is the only one in the team who has a sister. Others are mostly the younger sibling or only child in the family like Taehyung, Jungkook and I. Hoseok's brother is much older than him and already has a family of his own so he doesn't live with him anymore. Jimin has a younger brother, Yoongi is the oldest out of two sons in their family and Jin has an older brother who is a third year university student.
"Dinner's ready." Hajoon announced and prepared the food on the table. She has a foot stool that she uses so she can serve the food on the dining table which I found really cute. She is just so cute!
"Where's your spoon, Vee?" Jimin noticed that I don't have utensils yet so he asked Hajoon for a set. "Hajoon, can you give Vee a set of utensils?
"OH, we don't have enough utensils but we have a disposable one. She can use that." She smiled so innocently but there's a dark aura around her. She really hates me.
Using disposable utensils is not a big deal for me. I just don't know why she doesn't like me. If anything, we should be getting along well because we're both girls, right?
"This is so good." I exclaimed when I took the first bite. "You're really good at cooking, Hajoon."
"She's a good girl." Namjoon felt proud of his sister as he softly patted the top of her head. And, of course, I was ignored again.
"I'm positive. She hates me." I uttered to myself.
Yoongi heard me and said, "Hajoon has a major brother complex and she had a traumatic experience at school that's why it's hard for her to open up to new people. And yeah, she hates you."
"That doesn't help at all." I replied, giving him a look.
After dinner, the boys helped clean up the table. I noticed that Hajoon was washing the dishes so I came over and offered to help even if she refused. She washed the dishes and I helped her dry them before putting them away. Hajoon is not tall unlike her big brother. I find her adorable because I think little sisters are cute and fun to have but I didn't know how I can talk to her. She's not making any move to speak to me too. It's starting to become awkward.
"Um..." She spoke and I was so surprised so I looked at her. Hajoon hid her face from me by looking down. "Did you really like the food?"
"Yes, they were so good!" I answered gleefully and she hid away further. "You don't like me, right? Can I ask why?"
It took her awhile to reply. She handed me the next plate and I was drying it when she talked. "Are you.. my brother's girlfriend?"
I laughed when I heard what she said. "No, no, we're just friends and we play together on the same team."
"Really? You're not his girlfriend?" She looked up at me with big eyes. "I thought..."
"Were you scared that if I was his girlfriend, I'm going to take him away?" I asked. Hajoon turned her face away from me again. "Namjoon is really proud of you, you know. You're such a responsible person. You will be an awesome person when you grow up."
"No one really likes me." She uttered under her breath. "My friends only like to come to my house because they want to see my cool brother. They exclude out of everything else if I refuse them. I like my brother too but.."
"Namjoon is not cool at all." I chuckled. "He's smart and friendly, yeah, but he's very clumsy and forgetful. Not to mention, he's like a bomb. It's either he destroys things or he self destructs."
Hajoon giggled after what I said. "That's true. He can't help but destroy things."
"Namjoon is Namjoon and you are you." I showed her a smile. "I know you love your brother but don't let him outshine you. You're a star in the making and I know you're going to be a bright one."
I was startled when her arms reached around my waist. Hajoon clung to me with her face against my chest. I didn't know what to do so I placed my hand awkwardly on top of her head. "H-Hey, are you okay?"
She nodded against my clothes. "Can I tell you a secret?"
"Um, okay." I nodded and she slowly separated herself from me. "I guess I can keep a secret."
Hajoon looked around to see if any of the guys are paying attention to us but all of them are busy in the living room, playing video games before we go home. She faced me again, wearing her resolve on her face. "You see, the other day.. I saw something.. I think my brother is gay."
"Huh?"
