Jungkook thought Yoongi is way over his head if he thinks it could work out between Vee and him. Anyone can see that she likes Hoseok. The way she looks at him, the sound of her laughter when she's with him and her smiles— it's all different when Hoseok is with her. He was hoping it wasn't true but that day, it really couldn't be denied anymore. It's not that Hoseok is a bad guy for her. He's really the best there is. Although, there's a part of him that wished he was better. That he could compare to him.

Jungkook realized he liked Vee whenever his eyes would follow her everywhere she goes, when his head shot up at the sound of her voice, when her laughter became melodious in his ears, when his heart clenches every time their eyes meet and when her smile makes his worst days feel like the best. Sometimes, he'd feel grateful that Yoongi helps him in his own ways but sometimes, it breaks his heart a little every time she chooses someone else over him.

"Hey, you okay?" Jungkook snapped out of his own thoughts when Hoseok nudged his arm while they were preparing in the locker room. "You're awfully quiet. Something bothering you?"

Jungkook went back to putting on his training shoes and replied, "Nothing really."

"You like Venus, don't you?" Hoseok brought up and made Jungkook stop in his tracks, frozen.

"I don't." Jungkook continued, shrugging it off.

"I don't believe you." Hoseok teased him. "I've seen how you look at her lately and I can tell you pretty damn well it's not because you hate her guts." He gave Jungkook a smile. "You like her."

"I would never like her! Ah, so annoying.." Jungkook replied with such conviction, making Hoseok surprised. Jungkook felt angry that, of all people, she likes someone he was fond of. If only she chose someone who he hated, then it would be easier.

Hoseok didn't know how to react to the younger one and he lost the chance to when Jungkook pulled onto his shoelaces tight before walking out. Since when did he start having these feelings? He felt guilty afterwards. He shouldn't have said that to Hoseok. It was stupid and childish.

"Did anyone fight with Jungkook?" Jimin asked as soon as he entered the locker room. "He totally ignored me when I said Hi to him on his way out. He looked kind of pissed."

"You know how moody his ass is." Taehyung let out a big sigh. "One moment he's smiling then the next he wants to murder your ass. It's totally normal for him."

Jimin shrugged at that, "Well, that's why the girls like him. I don't get why girls fall for psychopaths."

"I don't like him." Vee mused quite proudly and made the Jimin and Taehyung smile.

"Liar, liar pants on fire." Taehyung sang merrily, grinning at the girl.

"What? It's true. I don't like him." Vee retorted.

"You didn't have to brag that you don't like him but you still did." Jimin teased with a big grin. "I think you're whipped for Jungkook."

"Whipped? What! No way." Vee was flustered at the term. "No way am I liking him. What is whipped even?"

"Well, whipped is the state of-" Taehyung was stopped short when Vee stood up.

"I know what is. It was a rhetorical question." She said, almost shouting.

"Look at you blush." Jimin said, smiling as he nudged Hoseok. "Hey, let's play a game. I spy with my little eye, someone whipped as hell."

"Ugh! I told you I'm not!" Vee said, "Tease me one more time and I'm going to-"

"Kiss Jungkook?" Taehyung suggested with a huge smile.

"Ugh, whatever. You two are so childish." V said to the two before walking out.

Jimin and Taehyung were laughing together when Namjoon decided to intervene, "You two didn't have to tease her that much. Now she's upset."

"Oh she'll come around, hyung. Don't worry." Jimin replied, patting Namjoon on the shoulder but he stood up and followed the upset girl.

"I have a brilliant idea." Yoongi rose up from the dead, making Jimin jump up.

"What the fuck?" Jimin squeaked. "You were there the whole time?!?"

"Yes, I was." Yoongi answered. "Now back to my nobel prized idea. It requires the key to the equipment room."

"Hoseok hyung has the key. He's the one coach trusts with those things." Taehyung answered.

"Wait. What do you need the key for?" Jimin questioned and had Taehyung wondering too.

"Yeah, what do you need it for?" Taehyung added.

"Am I the only one in this team who actually has a brain?" Yoongi rolled his eyes. "They need to spend the night together to speed up the process of Love!"

Jimin looked at Taehyung and Taehyung at Jimin. "Don't you think that's a bit too much?" Jimin said.

Yoongi shook his head no as he latched his arms around both of them. "We must be the catalyst for change."

"I swear, hyung, we'll get in trouble for this." Taehyung spoke up. "This could get messy quickly. We'll be in deep shit if coach finds out or even the Prinipal! What are we going to tell them if we get caught?"

Yoongi patted his back and nodded his head to acknowledge the younger one's concerns. "We did it in the name of Love."

Hoseok already knew that Venus liked him and he kind of developed something for her too but he keeps on hesitating. Jungkook is the reason why he can't act on his own feelings. He was always the one who Jungkook always goes to talk to when he needed advice and he always supported him. He always told him to go for it if it's what his heart tells him to but how can he tell him that now when they like the same girl?

Hoseok feels like Jungkook is starting to become distant from him. He doesn't talk to him that often and he's always so quiet. He worries for him because, despite his tough shell, he's actually a very sensitive person.

"Jungkook." Hoseok called after him as practice was just dismissed. "I think we need to talk."

Jungkook finished chugging down his drink before he replied, "About what, hyung?"

"Is it something serious? You look kind of serious." Jungkook waited for him to answer but Hoseok was still reluctant. "If it's about earlier, I'm sorry, hyung. I lost my temper back there. I just.. have a lot of things on my mind lately."

Hoseok could see that he was struggling and it made him even more guilty that he was part of the reason why. "Jungkook.. I.."

He started but couldn't seem to continue so he averted his attention to removing his gloves. Hoseok lifted his head up again and summoned all his courage to tell Jungkook, "I like Venus."

"I know." Jungkook instantly answered him. "And I also came to realize.. that I do too."

They both stared at each other for awhile. It felt like the silence would eat them both up if it wasn't for Hoseok trying to lift up the tension between them.

"I mean, I like her but it's not that big of a deal." He said, sending Jungkook a smile that even he wouldn't buy. "You should go ask her out."

"I'm not a little boy, hyung. I can obviously tell that you're lying." Jungkook said as he sat down on the grass under the shade of the tree.

Hoseok sat down beside him and watched the empty field with him. "Am I that obvious?"

"Yes, you are." Jungkook gave him a small smile. "'Do what your heart tells you to' that's what you always tell me."

"It's really not that simple." Hoseok shifted his gaze up and watched the clouds passing by so slowly.

"You don't have to worry about me." Jungkook added, "Because I will do what my heart tells me to do too."

Jungkook turned to look at Hoseok, who at that time, turned to face him too, wondering if it's the same Jungkook he knew that spoke those words. The eyes looking at him right now felt like a stranger. The Jungkook he knew as a boy would never even act on his own feelings so he would always feel the need to encourage him and give him advice. Yet now, he feels like a whole other person. He felt a surge of pride at Jungkook's decision. In his heart, he felt truly happy for him even if it meant fighting over one girl's heart.

Jungkook had offered his hand to Hoseok with a smile, "May the best man win."

"May the best man win." Hoseok repeated as he shook his hand and they continued to watch the sky that's transitioning to a pinkish orange hue.

Word were not necessary because they both knew that they have fully understood each other's feelings and simply acknowledged that they're running towards the same direction with one goal in mind.
