WHEN COLBY awoke the next morning, it was to Rebekah throwing clothes at her, telling her to wake up.

"Get up, dear, there's something I need to show you today." Groaning, Colby reluctantly got up, glaring at Rebekah. All the drawings from the night before had been ripped from the wall and shoved in one of the drawers of Colby's nightstand, with Klaus demanding that she speak of it to no one else. Shoving Rebekah out of the room and throwing on clothes, Colby followed Rebekah out to her red convertible, allowing her to take Colby wherever it is she wanted. Pulling up outside of a bar in the French Quarter, Colby followed Rebekah, who was obviously listening to whatever was going on inside.

"Because that is what Klaus does. Don't mind me, I'm fascinated by this story. Hello, Tyler." Rebekah said, shoving the door open. Tyler rolled his eyes, jaw clenched. Colby tried not to show her surprise at seeing Tyler there – he was the one who had taken Hayley, who had tried to blame Klaus for something he didn't do.

"Rebekah. Long time no see." Ignoring him, Rebekah addressed all the vampires in the room, and it was then that Colby noticed Marcel and Diego.

"What Tyler was about to tell you is that my brother can use his baby's blood to sire more hybrids. What you will all figure out is that vampires don't stand a chance. So, Tyler, I assume you were trying to rally this lot into making sure the baby isn't born." Rebekah said, giving Tyler a dangerous look. He stood from his seat, glaring at Rebekah.

"Yeah. You don't like it? Go on and take your brother's side. But you know I'm right." Tyler spat out. Colby slowly moved around everyone to stand besides Diego, who smiled at her sympathetically.

"I believe you've mistaken the ladies intentions." Marcel interjected.

"Alright. What's going on?" Diego asked before Colby could get the chance to.

"You are absolutely right, Tyler. My brother is a crap enough individual as it is. The last thing he needs is to sire a superior species. Go on, you can tell them." Rebekah said, smiling at Marcel.

"She's not here to fight us, she's here to help us." Rebekah looked pleased with herself at the admission, while Colby grew more uncomfortable by the second.

"That's right. But first," Rebekah speeds up to Tyler, snapping his neck and then sitting down in the chair he was sitting in previously. "That is enough talk about harming that baby. Klaus is the one we're putting a stop to."

"I'm leaving." Colby said, turning abruptly on her heel, heading for the door.

"Colby, wait!" Rebekah shouted and a vampire moved in front of her to stop her, growling lowly. Colby scoffed.

"I want to leave, Rebekah. So if you could tell your lovely friend here, Marcel, to stand down, I'd appreciate it." Colby snapped. Marcel nearly winced at the venom in her voice when she said his name, nodding at the vampire to stand down.

"Please, Colby, we could use your help. Klaus trusts you, it would be so easy for you to lure him into our trap." Rebekah pleaded, as if she was asking her to do something simple, as if she wasn't suggesting that Colby should help betray Klaus. The entire reason Rebekah brought her was just to use her as a pawn in their game.

"Maybe you weren't listening last night, but you know where I stand on the matter, Rebekah. You're all so quick to want to take Klaus down. It's actually kind of sad. My belief remains the same – I do not believe that Klaus' intentions for his child are to use her as a hybrid breeding machine. You want to try and take him out? Fine, but I will have no part of it." Walking out the door of the bar, Colby made a point of forcefully slamming it shut behind her.

Colby, without a car or way back to the mansion, decided on going to Claire's apartment, where she used to call home. She still had a key to let herself in, and she was surprised to find Claire home.

"Claire, I need your help." Colby said, looking at her aunt in desperation. Claire sat with Colby as she explained everything, from what happened with Elijah to what had just happened with Rebekah and Marcel. They talked for hours, all day, and Claire finally sighed.

"I wish I could help you, sweetheart, I do. But my magic isn't what it used to be. I'm afraid it won't be of much help." Colby nodded sadly in understanding as her phone rang.

"Klaus?" She answered, confused.

"I know you're at Claire's. I'm outside, come, we have a meeting at the Abattoir." He hung up without another word and Colby quickly kissed her aunt goodbye, running outside to follow Klaus into the Abattoir.

"Klaus." Marcel said, glancing at Colby.

"You've been avoiding my calls." Klaus said. Marcel smiled, in an angry and hurt kind of way.

"Little pissed off lately." Marcel shows Klaus the dagger, gesturing with it to him. "Sorry, but I can't do that." Klaus' jaw clenched in annoyance.

"Apologies for my behavior can come later. You have something of mine. I want it back." Marcel stretches out a hand with the dagger in it towards Klaus. Rebekah appears, taking the dagger.

"What is this?" Klaus asked in disbelief.

"Apologies for your behavior? You don't apologize, Nik. You just act. I've had enough. We have had enough." Rebekah snapped, holding the dagger tightly in her hand.

"Look at you. Finally in possession of the one thing that can take you down. How does it feel?" Klaus asked his sister. Rebekah looked almost proud of herself.

"Great." Marcel whistles and some vampires appear.

"So this is it? The evil bastard Klaus has gone too far. Must be punished. And by his own sibling, nonetheless. How positively biblical. And you, Marcel, is this your idea of a hit? I taught you better than this poultry excuse for a takedown. Do you think you can subdue me with this!?" Klaus looked around in absolute disbelief, almost laughing. Colby suddenly wanted to run and hide. She knew what was coming. She knew was was going to happen.

"No. But I think I can with this." Marcel whistled again, more vampires appearing. Klaus stands in the middle of Marcel's vampires, Colby by his side.

"Let's end this charade, shall we? Vampires of New Orleans! Do recall that I am an Original. A hybrid. I cannot be killed. Eternity is an awfully long time. How long, do you think, Marcel will stay in power? What if one of you lot were to release me, knowing I will be eternally in your debt? Oh, I would pity those of you who dared to cross me. I can assure you, your ends would be spectacular. To borrow a trick from an old friend." He stops, stretching out a hand with a coin in it. "Whoever picks up this coin gets to live." He drops the coin, and Colby almost considers diving for it. "Now which of you magnificent bastards wants to join me?" Marcel nods his head slightly towards the coin.

"Anyone wants that coin, pledge allegiance to Klaus. Take it now. Go ahead. The choice is yours." No one moves, except Klaus who is slightly astonished that no one picks up the coin. Marcel looks at him, proud of the loyalty his vampires show.

"Take him." Some vampires try to take down Klaus, lunging for him, but he kills them easily. Klaus stretches out both hands, some vampires attempting to chain him, but he is still stronger than all of his attackers. They finally manage to take him down, chaining him up in his place in the garden. When he rises his head again, his hybrid eyes can be seen as he growls deeply. Rebekah is momentarily paralyzed by disbelief. Klaus rises again and continues killing vampires. Colby feels like she can't breathe, all the noise blurring together around her. She barely snaps out of it when Marcel shouts. "Enough!" The room falls absolutely silent as Marcel takes the coin.

"Well, well, well. The great Marcel, self-proclaimed king of New Orleans, bowing before me." Marcel throws away the coin in Klaus' direction angrily.

"There. I hereby pledge my allegiance to you. You have the keys to my kingdom. It's yours." It is still absolutely silent as the two stare at each other. Colby can't breathe. She drops to her knees next to a dying vampire, trying to help, knowing it's no use. The blood coats her hands and her jeans, her shirt. How many of these vampires had she known most of her life? Colby's crying now, sobbing, as Rebekah tries to step forward to comfort her. Colby looks up, snapping her gaze to Klaus.

"How could you?!" She screamed, sobbing again. He looks almost regretful as the vampire in front of her dies. "No," She breathes out slowly. "No, no, no." She says, louder. Colby looks back up to Klaus, anger distorting her features. "No!" She screams, the almost familiar screech of a banshee booming from her.

Klaus is thrown back, even from halfway across the yard. He slams into a wall, his head cracking against it. Colby stands, slowly walking towards him.

"I hate you." She yells, pounding against his chest with non-forceful fists. "I hate you!" She continues to say, her voice a whisper now, as she continues to hit him. Soon, the yelling fades to broken sobs as Diego pulls her back into him by her shoulders. He pulls her away from Klaus, and she cries into his shoulder as he hugs her. Marcel and Rebekah look at the girl in sympathy. The girl who is haunted by death. Klaus looks hurt, regretful, though only for a moment.

Colby's heart pounded in her chest as she continued to cry, her head aching as voices buzzed within her ears. She could've done more; she should've. Guilt gnawed away at Colby as she gripped onto Diego's arm, clinging to him as she continued to mourn.
