Chapter 11
Krista's POV
I paced around my bedroom with my favorite notebook in hand. I furrowed my eyebrows in concentration and I checked over and over the plan we made.
I may look like a childish and spoiled brat, but one thing I learn from my father was to make strategies. And this is why I was entrusted with planning the whole mission by myself with help from Levi.
"Are the teachers informed of our absence yet?" I asked Levi.
"You're father already settled that with the headmaster," Levi packed his stuff.
"How about Bangpdnim?"
"Settled too,"
"Okay. And the most important thing, have you prepare enough food for the 5 of us?" I eyed Levi closely.
Levi rolled his eyes playfully, "All you can eat chocolate. What more can you ask for?"
I laughed, "Well I was asking for no veggies at all on the jet."
Levi cracked a smile. "Finally, something we both agree on," he laughed.
Our laughter gradually died down and it was back to silence. I stared once again at my notebook, lost in my thoughts for a while before Levi cleared his throat. Looking up, I saw Levi's eyes soften for a fraction before returning to their usual cold state. Scratching the back of my neck, I tried sparking up a conversation again because the silence was just too uncomfortable for me.
"So... Um... How is Jin doing?" my eyes trailed away from him.
"I guess he's alright with Rachel, but how would I know," he replied boredly.
"Well you should. He's part of the team too," I was getting annoyed for no reason.
"I guess you just asked the wrong person. Maybe you should have asked Rachel instead if you wanted information on Jin," Levi replied sharply.
"Why are you acting so childish all of a sudden? You used to know everything for me, keeping me informed with everything I need to know. I don't need this kind of attitude on the mission," glaring daggers at him, I quickly scanned his face for any emotions.
But I only found amusement. What could be so amusing in making me mad? His lips slowly formed a smirk as he looked at me with an evil glint in his eyes.
"Well then, just wait until you meet the Maknae. I heard Jungkook," Levi managed to duck the boot I threw at him.
"Don't you dare talk to me about the missing members, especially Jungkook," I pointed my other boot at him.
Levi shrugged, "It was only a joke. Jeez kiddo, can't you chill out a bit."
I glared at him before pouting and crossing my arms over my chest. Huffing, I turned my back to him before murmuring soft complaints before he started ruffling my hair, ruining my hairstyle. Annoyed, I grabbed his wrist and attempted to punch his face for the damage he has made, before I was rudely interrupted when my bedroom door slammed open.
"Hey, I heard Jungkook's name being mentioned," Dani walked in with a big smile on her face. I was going to smile at her, but it instantly vanished at the sight of the two people behind her.
The Inseparable Duo, Rachel and Jin.
Before I could do anything else, Dani started showering me with questions again.
"So, are we going to be saving Jungkook first?" Dani seemed all excited.
I raised an eyebrow at her. I thought she had the hots for V and V only. Jin's face lit up when Dani asked that, excited to be saving his friends. Rachel, however, didn't seem as excited as those two were and just glared at me. Seems like she still doesn't like me. And thank goodness Levi came to the rescue, clearing his throat to answer.
"We were actually planning on saving Jungkook last, since Krista came up with the theory that he may be hidden far away, meaning we would have to travel the furthest," Levi explained with a stoic face.
And with that, I gave Levi my infamous death glare, which he just brushed off with a shrug. Jin must have sensed the tension between us, because he looked rather uncomfortable.
"I'll be waiting downstairs," Jin excused himself and left in a rush.
Somehow, the way he acted just seemed a bit off, even with the tension in the room. Averting my eyes to Rachel, I raised an eyebrow, as if to ask 'what the hell is wrong with him.' Rachel replied me with shaking her head.
"I don't know. He's been like that since this morning. And I couldn't care less about his problems when we have something bigger to worry about," was her reply.
"Well, it seems a bit strange though. Since you two seemed so close when you guys first met. It was like you guys had this special bond," Dani intervened.
"And he seemed pretty opened with you, despite the fact both of you never met before. I really agree with Dani," Levi added.
Eyebrows furrowed, Rachel was lost in deep thought. Slowly, she looked up with a tired and bored expression.
"He did seem a bit off considering all he did today was just playing with his phone. It was like he was a bit moody after playing with his phone," Rachel told us.
"Maybe he was reading comments from the haters?" Dani offered.
Rachel's eyes widen in realization when Danielle said that. "Of course, why didn't I think of that?"
We all stared at Rachel, expecting her to immediately go downstairs to talk to Jin. However, things didn't go as expected and Rachel stayed there and didn't budge. She didn't even looked like she wanted to go see Jin altogether.
"Aren't you going to... you know?" Dani gestured to the door.
Rachel shook her head. "He has ARMY with him."
We were all dumbfounded by her cold reply. I slowly walked forward, towards her. Putting a hand on her shoulder, I looked into her eyes. She may not like me, but I can't just let her stay in this state, especially since she really cared about Jin.
"Why are you suddenly so cold to Jin?" I asked softly.
"Ship wrecked..."Levi whispered but was still audible. Rachel flinched and turned her head, a hurt expression on her face.
"Shut up, Levi. You better stay quiet," I glared at him.
"Umm... Guys? We forgot the real deal here!" Dani waved her hands around, trying to get our attention.
Levi turned to her with a serious looking face. "The jet is already at the airport, waiting for our arrival. We can get there by driving. It would only take us about 10 minutes."
"Are you sure about this Dani? It's not too late," I looked at Danielle.
She gave me a sweet smile. "I'm sure as I would ever be. I've been there plenty of times to memorize all the secrets pathways."
"Well then," I clasped my hands. "I guess we're ready!" I announced with a weak smile.
Somehow I got a bad feeling about this.
