After Summer Vacations: Tasty from Busan by kitkatfanfics
Honorable Mention (3rd) in the Solo Jungkook Category
1.) What made you decide to make a BTS Fanfiction?
In my head, I could say that there are countless stories I see as drama scripts. Our boys, in my viewpoint, are just the starring actors! Visualizing them acting out the situation or plot of my stories are really amusing to picture, feeling like each characteristic I give them is somewhat believable or maybe even real. I hope that in the future, I can experiment a bit with storylines and get out of my comfort zone!
2.) What was your inspiration from your storyline?
For the story of Always Yours, it was always a running joke for ARMY that Jin, the main character, would take over BigHit and become the CEO, and the storyline for the said story was always on my head, so I thought I'd give it a shot, seeing it was my very first FF. I had envisioned the beginning and the end but left the middle right open so I'd have more flexibility for plot twists and connections! For the story of After Summer Vacations, the most recent story that's still ongoing, I was always a sucker for Teacher-Student relationships, Jungkook being the excellent protagonist for his shy, bubbly and teasing personality as well as his interest for older women (IU, I'M LOOKING AT YOU). Once again, I had the beginning well planned, but I still don't know how it'll end. Many options are up for reach, but I'll let my imagination take over that and hope for a satisfying ending!
3.) What message or word of encouragement you might like to share with your fellow writers?
Feeling happy? Write about it. Feeling in love? Write about it. Feeling angry? Write about it! Feeling depressed? Write. About. It! Your emotions can be unexpected inspirations for stories, and even if it's not for the world to read, do it for yourself and find your own pace and style. Who knows, maybe the next great story is hiding underneath your smiles, tears, fits or heartthrobs!
4.) Can you give a word of advice to your fellow writers in terms of writing a story? or publishing a book?
Akatsuki Natsume, the writer for the famous light novel KonoSuba, once said something that got stuck with me before writing my stories, even to this day: "Don't set an entire story from the beginning. I personally set in stone the beginning and the end but leave the middle fairly open-ended and flexible. Otherwise, you're just going to end up trying to fill in the plotholes, and the story will become less enjoyable. I prioritize enjoyment over a properly structured plot."Natsume-senpai mentioned to not also prioritize something so much, like jokes or plot twists, it's also important to keep it steady and logical. When publishing a book, never become intimidated by the views, comments or votes you get! I tend to be shy, even when promoting my own books, so I evade messaging complete strangers and just hope they find it. Big mistake! Enter contests, learn from others and improve little by little to make other's view what you love!
5.) Last question, how do you personally deal when you've experienced a "Writer's Block"? What do you do?
I can sense I've got "Writer's Block" once my fingers won't push the keys of my keyboard, even if I was thrilled to continue the story. The scenario, characters, flow, it's all right there, visible in my eyes, but I just can't find the right expressions, maybe a connection that makes it sound consistent or something that I want to stand out. Once that happens, the thing I tend to do the most is to just stop writing and focus on something else, anything. I lose motivation easily, I'm pessimistic and melancholic a bunch of times, but I somehow manage to overcome that by taking a walk in the park. Drawing something, listening to countless k-pop songs depending on my mood, and randomly, a situation or even a dream can spark my imagination and kick me in the butt to make me start writing again. Like I said before, emotions can sometimes spark some ideas and be the fruit of something you never expected to write!Right now, I'm on a big Writer's Block, but I get the feeling that I'll start writing again once I find the right BTS track!
