Angels and Demons I

Jeon Jungkook/ Kim Taehyung- Love Triangle

You refused to believe that your boyfriend, Taehyung had been taking you for granted, after all he was everything a girl could only dream about and you were lucky enough to be with him as it is.

You and Taehyung met back in University. And while you spent the first three years of it staring at the back of his perfect brunette head in Ancient History class, it took the fourth and last year for him to finally turn around and notice you.

You looked at the clock on the wall as it ticked closer to 10pm and finally decided to put the cold dinner in the fridge.

Taehyung wasn't coming home tonight and by this hour, you knew that very well.

This has been going on for weeks.

He worked late and by the time he got home, he was always too tired to spend any quality time with you.

You paused after filling the dishwasher and thought back to the last time you two had sex.

It was the kind of sex that was so mind-blowing, you didn't forget about it for days, lost focus at work and nearly forgot to eat on your lunch-break just reminiscing on it. Everything was great you thought. And at the time, nothing felt wrong.

The big problem was that, he hadn't touched you since.

Feeling sorry for yourself, you took a wine glass from the cupboard and a bottle from the fridge and headed to the couch to drown your sorrows.

It wasn't until a few hours later, you stirred at the sudden creak of the door to your apartment opening and in walked Taehyung.

His hair was untidy and his shirt was loose. His eyes travelled to you in surprise when he saw you staring at him from the couch.

"Hi," he smiled and you did your best to smile back.

His eyes scanned your body and you could tell that he noticed the now wrinkled satin lingerie you were wearing and the empty bottle at you feet.

"Baby, are you alright?" He asked placing his hand softly on your shoulder and you tried your best not to flinch at his touch. "I told you not to wait up for me..."

"I know," You nodded, fighting back tears.

Pain and betrayal traced like poison through your system, feeling yourself stiffen at the smell of the other woman's perfume still lingering on his shirt.

He saw that you were drunk but he didn't offer to help you, instead he stepped away awkwardly.

"I'm going to get myself cleaned up," He walked inside, "Come to bed."

You stared down at the large rock on your finger with bleary eyes. And spinning it around, you watched it slide down to your knuckles a bit before pushing it back up into place again.

You wondered sorrowfully if you could go through with this? The wedding was only three months away. You could call it off, be smart, save yourself the heartache.

But how could you? After all this time....the truth was that you wanted to marry Taehyung, you really did.

He was your first love and you were hoping he would be your last.

Maybe he just needed time to get this all out of his system? Taehyung had always been a player, even back in school when you first started dating. You remembered how shocked the entire faculty was to see him actually choose you to be his one and only girl. Taehyung was still a very young man. He was smart, good looking, made decent money and perhaps, being with you he felt like he was missing out? Maybe all you needed, was to be patient. Then, once you two were married, Taehyung would settle down again. He'd only want to be with you.

You tried to remain optimistic because you loved him so much and so desperately but your heart sank with dread and the feeling that his unfaithfulness was only at the beginning.

Where had you gone wrong?

Was it your hair? You hadn't tried a new style for years but Taehyung always said that he liked it long.

Was it your clothes, your skin, your face?

You felt hopeless.

Empty.

Flicking off the television and turning out the lights, you shuffled into the bedroom after him and sat down heavily onto the bed.

Gripping the cool sheets in your fists, you felt a festering, open chasm of loss pervade your soul. Taehyung was the best thing that had ever happened to you, before he became the worst.

You lay down slowly, and it didn't take long for the tears to soak your pillow. You turned out the only light left in the room. And as you heard Taehyung twist open the shower, you softly cried yourself to sleep.
