three.
guys i'm so fucking pumped for this au, y'all don't even know. i'll update this more, since i now have a thousand ideas stored in my head, though i'm not entirely sure how i'm going to end this story.
let's go for it!
upon reaching the address that the man had given him yesterday, yoongi had a few things in mind.
first off, the place... it wasn't so bad. well, it looked like it wasn't so bad from the outside. it was a normal looking house, you know, the usual. and, sure, it's quite weird how there's a literal couch on the lawn, even with the sprinklers open at midday, but yoongi guessed that it wasn't that odd. other than that, he disregarded the B H B sign attached to the front part of their roof, and how its H looked like it was going to fall off any second now.
taking a few steps towards the porch, he clutched the piece of paper in his right hand, mentally preparing himself for what's to come when he actually meets the members.
and right when he was about to go through the two small steps and actually knock on the door, he heard a loud crash from... up above?
alarmed, he looked up, scanning the house for any possible accidents. or something.
instead of something falling from the second floor, or anything like that, he expects the least expected.
he focused on one of the second floor windows.
he squinted.
climbing out of the window was an actual guy.
yoongi watched as the dude pulled off some kind of ninja moves, quickly cascading down onto the ground. shouts from the second floor window accompanied the sight, though yoongi could only hear the faint words, 'taehyung, you little shit, get back in here!'
taehyung, yoongi assumed from the screaming, somewhat tiptoed over to the porch, only to stop halfway as he looked back towards yoongi, a small look of realization on his features.
and then he walked towards yoongi.
yoongi stood there, not knowing what to do as taehyung soon stood in front of him, shooting yoongi a curious look.
"so you're min yoongi?" taehyung spoke, and yoongi felt a shiver run down his spine at how deep the male's voice was. before the words came out of his mouth, yoongi assumed that his voice would be, perhaps, lighter.
"yeah." yoongi replied, voice neutral, not really sounding exciting or anything— well, he didn't really know the guy.
a grin broke into taehyung's expression. "i'm taehyung! a bhb member. we're really... uh... happy to have you!"
yoongi didn't know how to respond to that, so once more, he gave a small nod, not really pointing to anything.
but instead of giving yoongi an expression that read, this-guy-is-boring-and-may-be-an-asshole, taehyung's grin only widened as he took a firm hold of yoongi's wrist, before proceeding to drag yoongi towards the door.
"what are you—"
"what's your hometown?"
"daegu—"
"ooh, same!"
"please let g—"
"favorite color?"
"...white. wh—"
taehyung glanced back at his back for a second, "is your backpack heavy?"
"...sort of?"
grasping the doorknob, taehyung asked yoongi once more, "did you pack that much stuff? 'cause, you know, bhb members usually share stuff so there's no need for that..." a small smile graced taehyung's lips, but before yoongi could even let out an audible sound, taehyung slammed the door open, pushing yoongi into the house.
okay. well.
there wasn't much to say about the living room. couches were red, there was a flat screen tv, some bookshelves, a shelf with video games, video game consoles on the floor, a few scattered papers (but they didn't look too messy), a nice-looking box of pizza on the living room's coffee table, a white laptop next to it... a doorway that led to what yoongi presumed was the kitchen, since a pleasant smell was in the air and yoongi could tell how it came from that specific direction.
really, there wasn't much to say. it was nicer than yoongi expected, after hearing all sorts of things about the bhb group. lastly, there was a staircase that obviously led to the second floor, different sounds coming from up there— music, occasional yells, and yoongi wasn't sure if he wanted to go up there if ever there was a house tour coming along. but a small detail stood out to him— the fact that under the staircase was a door. harry potter much? yoongi thought.
"jin hyung! newcomer is here!" taehyung yelled, letting go of yoongi's wrist as he jumped over the couch, grabbing a slice of pizza and gesturing for yoongi to take it. the older declined, receiving a shrug and a small smile from taehyung ('more for me...') before the latter took bite of it, starting up the laptop.
yoongi heard a few sounds from the kitchen, before a brunette peaked his head out of the kitchen doorway, looking around the living room until he spotted yoongi. walking over, yoongi observed how tall the man was, how he was wearing an apron so pink that it would've blinded yoongi if he stared long enough. but his attention was brought to the warm smile on the male's lips, how he felt so... friendly.
"you must be yoongi!" the man greeted, holding his hand out for yoongi to shake. with no reluctance, yoongi did as he nodded in confirmation. "i'm kim seokjin. though, you can call me jin." he smiled.
"...sure." yoongi said, "um, so is there a... house tour?" he asked.
at first, seokjin blinked, "oh. a house tour." he then hummed, turning towards taehyung, "taehyung!" he called. "make sure the kitchen doesn't burn while i give yoongi a tour!" he said, at the same time taking off his apron, revealing more of his pink sweater underneath.
over the couch, the blonde shot seokjin a reassuring smile. "no problem, hyung." before looking back at his laptop.
seokjin nodded for yoongi to follow him, "let's go." he said, walking over to the staircase.
yoongi trailed behind seokjin as he took him on a tour. seokjin briefly went through taehyung and his' room, seokjin's being very neat and tidy whilst taehyung's was slightly more packed and messy. yoongi wasn't sure if he could base their personalities off of how their rooms looked, though.
"bathroom's at the end of the hallway, by the way." seokjin told him, stopping in front of one of the doors. "i'm assuming you've read the rules?"
yoongi nodded. "fifteen minutes each person."
seokjin grinned, "i like you already, yoongi," he went for the doorknob. "this is hoseok's room. namjoon's usually in here, so if you're looking for namjoon, i suggest looking in here first." seokjin doesn't even knock. he immediately entered, as yoongi followed.
inside, it's a well organized room, light blue walls matching the light green bed on one side, where a bored looking dark brown haired male was sprawled on, the male using headphones as his eyes were closed. there was a small bookshelf near the bed, along with some posters on the wall above it. there was a closet, a table with a laptop atop of it, the normal stuff.
on the other side, there was a closet and something that of course stood out to yoongi— a particular black haired male sitting on the stool of an architect table, who looked quite focused on his work.
letting out a small tsk, yoongi watched confusedly as seokjin took one of his shoes off, before chucking it at the male on the bed. the said male bolted upright, headphones falling back and around his neck, as his eyes frantically scanned the place.
meanwhile, the black haired guy working over at the architect table spun around on his stool, taking notice of the scene. "jin hyung!"
"jin," the brown haired one whined, rubbing the spot that he'd been hit, "why'd you do that..." he muttered.
"can anyone explain to me why i heard yelling upstairs around five minutes ago, and how taehyung ended up outside without leaving the house at all?" seokjin raised an eyebrow, waiting for responses. the two males exchanged a short glance, expressions unsure.
how does he know all that? i thought he was just in the kitchen... yoongi thought.
after a wave of silence, seokjin got no answers. he ended it with a sigh, rubbing at his temples. "fine. i don't even wanna know." he said, glancing at the light blonde haired boy. "guys, meet yoongi. he's the new guy we got."
the raven haired male jumped off of his stool and strode over. "nice to meet you, yoongz." yoongi internally cringed at the nickname, though showed no expression that he was slightly uncomfortable. "i'm jung hoseok! majoring in architecture, so if you hear someone groaning at night, it's not anyone in the house getting some ass. it's literally just me." he said, giving yoongi a blinding smile.
very cheery. very smile-y. very sunshine-y— yoongi decided.
the fact that yoongi found himself unable to find a decent response for any of them actually pushed him to nervousness. at this rate, he wasn't sure of how quickly he could get rid of the awkwardness of being a new housemate.
"okay," yoongi drawled with a small smile. "i'll keep that in mind."
"min yoongi?"
the three turned to the brunette. yoongi assumed that this guy was namjoon, a name that seokjin had previously mentioned, the guy who often stays in hoseok's room. he was quite tall, taller than yoongi, and the red shorts that went down till his knees definitely revealed how long his legs were.
okay, well, that's an odd topic. but it really was the first thing yoongi took notice of.
"yeah."
"min yoongi, professor kim, class 4?" namjoon inquired.
"yeah?" yoongi answered hesitantly, "how do you—"
namjoon smiled, looking a bit sheepish. "love your work. prof let us listen to some bits of your final project, to, you know... set a good example. i heard you were the only student who got a hundred on it."
"thanks, though." yoongi said politely.
namjoon smiled and held his hand out, "i'm kim namjoon."
yeah, i figured, yoongi thought, grasping namjoon's hand and shaking it briefly.
so far, kim namjoon seemed like the most sane.
okay, perhaps yoongi was exaggerating a bit. but considering taehyung's ninja moves, seokjin's psychic abilities and hoseok's introduction that put him off track, namjoon really did seem like a nicer guy. a chill one, at that.
"well, i'm glad you guys agreed to having me. hope it wasn't much of a bother."
"nah," seokjin waved his hand dismissively, "last person moved out quick enough. i'm assuming you had no more room at the men's dorm?"
yoongi shook his head.
seokjin smiled. "we're happy to have you." he said, walking out of the room. yoongi followed behind him, both of them taking slow steps down the hall, before seokjin seemingly remembered something, before glancing back towards hoseok's room. yoongi did as well, and was greeted by hoseok and namjoon already peeking out from the door frame, staring at... something.
seokjin sighed, coughing pointedly. hoseok and namjoon's eyes trailed upwards, focused on seokjin.
"when will jimin get back?" seokjin asked.
the two shrugged. "no idea," hoseok replied, "probably at midnight. dance practice with his hoes and all."
seokjin rolled his eyes, before tilting his head to the side, letting yoongi know that he should follow along.
they reached the door near the end of the hallway, seokjin pointing at it. "in here's your room. i'd let you unpack your stuff and all, but you'll just have to know a few things more." he pointed at the room next to yoongi's, "that's another spare."
yoongi nodded understandingly, dropping his backpack in front of his door, stretching a bit afterwards.
seokjin's gaze averted over to the door across yoongi's. "that's jimin's room. he majors in dance. and yeah, there's still a week of vacation left, but he's already up and running. busy and all for dance covers with his team. we barely saw him this week. and like what hoseok said, he'll probably arrive until midnight. so... if you're a night owl like some of us, you'll probably meet him."
yoongi shrugged. "not all the time. i stay up sometimes, but i just... i sleep a lot."
seokjin smiled. "alright." he said, "anyway, that over there," he pointed a finger over to the door next to jimin's, "is jeon jeongguk's roo—"
and as if on cue, the door seokjin had been pointing at, opened, revealing a light brown haired boy, a blank expression on his face. but upon noticing yoongi and seokjin's presence nearby, he paused, not stepping further, eyes widening at the sight of the two watching him.
jeongguk's eyes trailed towards yoongi, somewhat observing him.
yoongi wasn't sure of whether to say hi or to stay quiet, but seokjin did it for him in the end.
"ah, this is jeon jeongguk." seokjin introduced, "jeongguk, this is min yoongi, the new—"
you know, yoongi didn't expect the boy to step back and literally slam his door shut.
"well." seokjin laughed dryly, "you'll have to excuse jungkookie. he's not used to new people." he gulped, looking at yoongi apologetically. "he's actually a little shit when you get to know him better. if you feel bad about it, just know that the previous housemate... jeongguk didn't even look at them. so just now, when he stared at you for at least three seconds, it's a small sign of improvement."
"ah." yoongi muttered. "well, um... you guys seem nice."
goddamn. yoongi still didn't know what to say.
"we are," seokjin quickly said, "but at this sure, i'm sure you've heard people talk about us. we're... deemed as chaotic, right?"
yoongi slowly nodded. "that's what they told me. sorry."
"nah, it's fine," seokjin laughed, "if you refer back to our rules— it's downstairs near the tv, by the way—we really do seem crazy. shouting at other houses on our roof, diving down the stairs with a broken door, namjoon's obvious clumsiness... well, there's more to it, actually." seokjin sighed. "but hey, how old are you?"
"22."
(YOOO DID I GET THE AGES RIGHT? ANYWAY, NEVER MIND IT, I WON'T FOCUS ON THE COLLEGE STUFF. JUST KNOW THAT SOME COURSES PROBABLY TAKE MORE THAN 4 YEARS TO FINISH AND— YEA. YEAH. SHHH. DON'T MIND MY INACCURATE INFORMATION.)
"oh. i'm older than you. anyway, they're crazy. handling them... it's like trying to put out a fire with more fire. and ice cubes."
"wha... what."
"yeah." seokjin shrugged, "anyway, if you get kidnapped at some point, just know it'll be okay." seokjin said, beginning to walk down the hallway.
"what?" yoongi was slightly... concerned, upon hearing those words. well, if lowkey told you to watch out due to the possibility of being kidnapped at some point during the week, then maybe a part of you would most certainly be confused. and frightened.
seokjin just yelled, "enjoy! holler if you need anything!"
yoongi stared until he no longer heard the faint steps descending the staircase.
turning to his own door, he picked his backpack up with one hand and gripped the doorknob with the other.
enjoy he shall, hopefully.

"dude, what the fuck." hoseok said, sitting on the bed next to namjoon.
after answering seokjin's question regarding jimin, they had immediately shut the door and went into complete silence.
"same?" namjoon said, frowning. confused, he stared at the floor, trying to process what he and his friend had just been blessed with a few moments ago.
"min yoongi..." hoseok looked up at namjoon, "...may possibly have a better ass than park jimin."
