This is the story of how I died.

"This is the story of how I died. But don't worry! It's actually a very fun story and the truth is, it isn't even mine. This is the story of a boy named Dan. And it starts with the sun.

Now, once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens and from this small drop of sun grew a magic, golden, flower. It had the ability to heal the sick and injured, it was discovered by an old woman who you might want to remember, she's kind of important later on.

Centuries passed and a short distance away there grew a Kingdom, ruled by a beloved King and Queen. The Queen was about to have a baby but she got sick, really sick. She was running out of time and that's when people usually start to look for a miracle. Or in this case, a magic golden flower.

Now, remember that old woman who I mentioned being important? Instead of sharing the sun's gift once she found the flower, this woman, Mother Omnivia, hoarded its healing power and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years. And all she had to do was sing a special song."

Flower gleam and glow,
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse,
Bring back what once was mine,
What once was mine.

"Then, you get it, she would sing to it and instantly become young again. Extremely, creepy, right? On the day the Kingdom's search party was looking for it, she'd done that again but had panicked when trying to cover the flower up because she'd heard footsteps and voices coming her way and as she ran away, she'd knocked her cover off the flower. Leaving it out in the open for the Royal Guard to find and take back to the palace to save their Queen.

The magic of the golden flower healed the Queen, a healthy baby boy, a Prince was born, with beautiful golden hair. I'll just tell you instead of making you guess, that baby was Dan.

To celebrate his birth, the King and Queen launched a flying lantern into the sky. And for that one moment, everything was perfect.

And then that moment ended.

Omnivia broke into the castle and sang her song to the sleeping baby, taking hold of one of his long locks of hair as it glowed and turned her younger the same way the flower used to. She tried to cut the lock of hair off but the second it was cut, both the cut hair in her hand and the part on the baby's head that she'd cut it from turned a bright red and lost their power.

As the baby began to cry, she grabbed hold of the child and climbed out of the window just as the King and Queen woke up. Then she was gone. The Kingdom searched and searched but they could never find the Prince, because deep within the forest in a hidden tower, Omnivia raised the child as her own. She'd found her new magic flower, but this time she was determined to keep it hidden. Banning the boy from ever going outside and telling her what a terrible place it was outside her tower.

But the walls of the tower couldn't hide everything from the outside world. Each year on his birthday, the King and Queen would release thousands of lanterns into the sky in hope that one day, their lost Prince would return."
