I ran into a boy with blue hair. "Sorry," I mumbled, mentally calling myself an idiot. "Sorry," the boy said, stepping back and looking me up and down. "What's your name," he asked, still observing me. "I'm uh- Tyler," I said, staring at the ground. "And you are?" "Josh," he said, "Josh Dun." That hit me harder than I thought it would. "Are you from here?" He asked. Should I tell him? "No," I said, "I just moved here." This wasn't a whole lie. I did technically just move here, even though I was technically a hobo. Josh gave me his phone number, and it made me realize that I was really behind with technology. In the city, we had been able to make money by fixing things, or cleaning. The only things we could buy, though, wee small necessities. I'd saved mine, so I had enough to buy a new phone, and I'd never bought anything more complicated in my life. As soon as I left the store, I text Josh. He invited me over, and the really awkward conversation gravitated toward where we lived, and housing situations. I ended up caving and telling him about my hobo status. He offered me a place to live, until I could buy a house. He's way too nice.
You're a legend in my own mind.
