Josh held up a sign. It was hard to read, mconsidering the low light and the fact that he was across the street. "Escaping tonight, 2 am," it read. I gave him a quick thumbs-up, and packed. I didn't need much, but I was sure to take pages of lyrics I'd written. I needed to prove that I was worthy of escape. I was sure to move quietly, as to not arouse suspicion. There were so many rules and guidelines, and I hated every one of them. There was a huge neon reminder of them in the middle of the room, it cast a glow over everything. "It won't work," I heard a whisper. I brushed it off, we had to be in a state of fake bliss. I glanced once more at the neon that reminded us we were messed up, and left the room. I wanted to escape right now, to escape the neon, the rules, the bishops. Even though my bishop, Keons, is merciful, he still doesn't really like me. I'd done some things, and I regretted all of them.
I met Josh in the courtyard, next to a statue, another reminder. I hated the statue, the city. For escape I was grateful. Josh, a bunch of other banditos and I started our long walk into the trench. We'd heard rumors of a bandits camp somewhere in here, east of the city. Too bad I was terrible with directions.
Updates will be sporadic, and I apologize that I'm inactive. I only have an hour or two a day.
