I wake up to that the sun is shining into my room, filling it with light.

I pretty much went to bed as soon as I had said my goodbyes to my girlfriend the day before, as I were basically exhausted from this long week of school work and Titan researching.

Getting up, I decide it's better to be on my toes than lazing around, as I still need to know what the new reports are from the on-going containment of the strange meteor that destroyed Infant Island.

But a thought begins lingering that I did not think about yesterday: If Mothra was able to hatch just like that, how come she even was able to do that to begin with..?

The Shobijin, the small, almost doll sized twin sisters that acts as Mothra's link to humanity, were not present to awake Mothra from the egg, nor have they been confirmed to be still alive after the Infant Island accident. I'll have to ask about it today, and if no answer, tomorrow it is.

Christ, this has really shaken everything upside down. Monarch will probably be very busy off it this coming week, considering that this doesn't certainly seem to be the last happening we are getting.

Because as soon as I turn on the TV, the news instantly blares out about the fact that Mount Fuji appears to be smoking out of it, most likely that it seemingly is becoming active of it.

As I look at the news, my phone suddenly rings while I finish up the last of my sandwich. Picking up the call, it's my colleague again from yesterday.

"Hey kid, you seeing the news this time as well?" He asks, now a little less anxious, but still kinda nervous in his voice.

"Yep, I am. Mount Fuji is apparently being active again." I reply back as he clears his throat, most likely thinking about what to say next.

"Well, you see... I don't think that's the volcano itself smoking out, or well, yes, the magma does smoke a lot out of it!" He says, now once again getting anxious. "No, the thing is; A Titan is becoming active, that is what is happening!"

"Which Titan..?" I ask him as I skimmer through my sketchbook again.

"His name... is Rodan."

As he says that, he apparently begins spacing around. Damn it...

"Hey, Sora, stop spacing around, I can hear you!" I tell him as he stops at the other end, before letting out a heavy breath.

"Look, Rodan does not have a comfortable title to him. The 'Fire Demon', Stephan, he is called the 'Fire Demon'!" Sora says as I tell him I got that.

"Just calm down, the military is most likely preparing themselves-"

But just as I about to finish what I were saying to Sora, I hear a loud, almost ear defining explosion and people beginning to scream.

"Wait a minute Sora, seems that the- OH SHIT!"

I get extremely surprised from a big magma rock having apparently been launched all the way from the volcano to right outside my window, crashing into several cars, causing them to explode.

"W-what happened, are you still there?!" Sora asks me concerned as I am quick with giving him a yes in confirmation. "Oh thank god... Also, I think the volcano is getting more and more active."

"It sure is, alright, the thing's shooting out magma rocks all the way to Tokyo..!" I tell Sora as I try looking from my window to possibly see the mountain, but I cannot see anything due to everything obscuring the volcano, but I can see some smoke in the air. "I need to head out and make sure my girlfriend isn't out there and in danger. I'll talk to you later."

"Wait, are you crazy?! I'm sure she is in safety somewhere-!"

I hang up on Sora, not wanting to hear anything further to what he has to say as I quickly put on my hoodie and shoes to head out. I will give Touko a call just in case...

"Hey Touko, where are you?"

"Stephan, I were just about to call you! I am hanging out with a friend but suddenly Mount Fuji exploded and I just don't know-"

"Easy now, please! Where are you right now?"

"Still inside the mall, though some big rock flew into here and crashed one of the clothing stores."

"I am coming to you, alright?"

"But what if you get hurt-!"

"I don't want to see you hurt either! So please, if you can stay at a safe place with your friend until-"

I suddenly hear a loud crashing from Touko's end, with even more people screaming, and I dread that the silence from Touko is that something... awful happened with her.

"Hey Touko..?!"

"I-I'm still here, but my friend ran off without me..."

"She ditched you?! God, I am coming as soon as I can, okay?"

"I hate so much having to make you hurry but... I don't think the mall will be able to withstand so much rocks crashing into it!"

"Don't worry, I am making my way towards you as fast as I can. I love you so much, please stay safe..."

"I love you so much as well, Stephan..."

As we hang up the call I jump up onto my bike and start pedaling like a madman, hopefully reaching the mall as soon as possible.

Whilst on my bike, I see a much clearer view of the smoking Mount Fuji, even if we are quite far away from it, and it looks even worse now, with some rocks occasionally flying out from it and landing in various places in Tokyo. Must be some quite heavy force Rodan uses to lunge the rocks so far that they land over here.

Also, I'm pretty sure I read that Rodan is an ally to Godzilla, but why does the former seem so... angry in his awakening? Perhaps something even bigger is coming and happening after all...

Arriving in front of the mall that has already sustained a lot of damage, I jump off my bike and start rushing up to it, luckily not having been blocked by the police or anything.

Rushing in, I see still people panicking as they are evacuating.

"Touko! Where are you?!" I yell out, to hopefully get a reply or someone running up to me. The latter was soon correct, as Touko had heard me calling out and she looks up over the reception desk at the newly opened burger joint before vaulting over it and rushing up to me with a tackle hug.

"Oh god, you actually came here and all unscratched, I am so relieved that you are okay-!" Touko says to me as she with tear filled eyes hugs me and soon begins kissing me all over as well. "Never do that again, you could've died!"

"I'm sorry, I just wanted you to not get hurt, my beloved..." I tell Touko as I hug her back just as much before looking at her. "I will contact my colleague to send in a Monarch helicopter, you will follow with me to my work this time."

Touko nods as I fish up my phone, before realizing something.

"Oh and uh, you have a napkin around Touko, for you know..?" I gesture to her as I point to my face that already been assaulted by kissmarks from her. "Don't want to have this on when another Titan is possibly awakening, sorry..."

"Oh no it's fine, just me kissing you a little too much at times, haha~" She says, seemingly having already calmed down a lot with my presence, and I feel calm as well knowing she is all okay.

As I prepare the call and Touko helps me with wiping the kissmarks off, Sora picks up quite fast this time after the very first tone.

"How did it go, did you find your girlfriend?! And are you still holding up all well over there?" He asks me with great concern in his tone. I can only assume the news he is going to give me won't be any better than the previous ones.

"Yeah, I found Touko my beloved, don't worry. I will after all never give her up, let her down or desert her." I say as I can't help but to do a slight smirk before continuing with reporting. "I am fine as well, though apparently the volcano is only getting more and more violent of it because of Rodan throwing a tantrum."

"I see, good... But about Rodan; We think he is about to get up from the top of the mountain." Sora says while I begin hearing all sorts of alarms going of in the background and people running around and slightly panicking. "We have no idea how he will act once he pops up from his nest, but we can at least expect aggressive behavior from him."

"Alright, we will be ready. I did want to request a helicopter, but wait with deploying anything of sorts, I don't want to risk airborne personnel getting struck by the hurling rocks." I tell Sora as he can only remain silent, but I assume he nods, and I continue on. "Me and Touko will make our way to a hopefully safer place, pick us up there instead. Track my phone so you know where!"

"Got it! Well, good luck, Stephan, don't die out there." Sora tells me before we end the call and I turn to Touko who had just finished with cleaning me up a little.

"What do you say about that we head to the hill we were on two weeks ago when having our picnic date?"

"Eh? Ooh, to get a better view of Mount Fuji, of course~!" Touko says as she nods before we hold each other's hand and rush out of the ruined mall and up to my bike.

Standing up my bike, I sit down on it, with Touko soon sitting down on the back of it and holding me tightly to not fall off, we are soon off to the hill.

The volcano, despite being faraway, could be heard all the way here when it exploded.

Soon enough, after a few minutes of non-stop pedaling, we reach the hill that is a little outside Tokyo and I let Touko dismount first before I also take and dismount and kick down the support for it this time, before me and Touko hold hands again and begin rushing up the stairs on the hill.

Reaching the top of the hill with it's plastic tree among the normal trees, I can't help but to remember the slight melancholy I had felt here after telling Touko about how my parents were like before their death.

Now on "Melancholy Hill" we are looking on as Mount Fuji smokes more and more. As we see this, we both feel somewhat nervous, which we both respond with holding each other's hand more tightly.

Rodan, just what is wrong with you right now..?

Meanwhile at Mount Fuji a.k.a Monarch Outpost 56

"Unit 2 to Outpost 56, be aware that Rodan might at any point begin raising up from the mountain." The man that is currently looking down from a helicopter at the activity from the volcano tells the personnel down at Outpost 56 that is built inside the mountain in order to keep Rodan in check. "I would recommend that evacuation gets done ASAP-"

Once again the mountain explodes, but this time, an otherworldly sound is heard coming from the mountain, quite animalistic of it even.

"God, we should land the helicopter very soon, it's not safe for us to be up here-"

But as he tells that to the pilot, another huge rock flies up from the top of the mountain and crashes right into the helicopter, killing the men on board.

Inside Outpost 56, personnel are panicking as the whole facility is shaking from Rodan's rough awakening. Alarms goes off as evacuation is being done and parts of the facility is collapsing as well from all the shaking.

"All Monarch personnel in Outpost 56, please evacuate to the nearest exit." The speakers blares out as several exits from the top of the mountain, until suddenly a claw rises up among the smoke as magma flies around.

"OH GOD, RUN!" A man yells out as he and his co-workers begins yelling out from all the panic they had earlier tried keeping to themselves, now starting to run for their dear life down the stairs that had been set up at the side of the mountain.

Military stands around, prepared and ready with their artillery to act if Rodan begins attacking any of the people around.

And not long after, the Fire Demon begins raising up his head from the magma as well...

Meanwhile, the towns folk closest to the mountain can see something slowly emerging from the top while they also in great panic are evacuating.

Back on Melancholy Hill...

Both me and Touko are both looking in awe as we see the Titan begin emerging from the mountain, spreading out his wings before letting out a roar that is heard all the way here.

"Huh..? Oh, you two are already here!" Someone suddenly says, and as we turn to who said that, it turned out to be Kasumi Toyama, the vocalist and guitarist of Poppin'Party, who is alongside the other band girls, including Touko's band mates.

"I see we two weren't alone about going to a safer place." I say as the majority of the band girls nods. "Well, you all come right on time after all."

They all wonder first what I mean with that, before they look to Mount Fuji, and some of them get startled to see something actually moving on top of there.

"The hell is that?!" Poppin'Party's keyboardist, Arisa Ichigaya, exclaims as she looks to me. "You seem to know best about this after all-"

"That, my friends, is Rodan. Another Titan, and much bigger than Mothra, the larva I assume some of you saw yesterday."

We soon begin hearing what sounds like helicopters and ospreys, and we also spot an enormous aircraft that looks like a bomber plane almost, soaring in the sky in the direction of where Rodan is.

Some of the ospreys comes down to us as we look on, before military and Monarch personnel comes out of it, running up to us. Sora is luckily among them, so he recognizes me immediately.

"Thank god, you are alive! Are these your friends?" Sora asks me as he points to the other band girls as I just nod in reply. "Great, they will get to be transported away from here for now until it gets safer!"

"What about that big aircraft though?" I ask Sora as I point to the bomber like plane.

"Ah, that belongs to Monarch, the Argo! It's meant for us so we can study airborne Titans much better and also to get to places much faster!" Sora exclaims as he points to the osprey closest to us. "That's our ride to it, we would be happy to have you along."

"Yeah sure. Touko, want to come along-?"

"No, no, no one else can come, I'm afraid!"

I look to Sora as he says that, surprised with his sudden objection. Is he actually for real that Touko can't come with me..?

"You know, your girlfriend maybe doesn't even want to come with you!" Sora says as he looks to Touko. "I would assume that's the case, right? You girls usually rather not involve yourself in such risky stuff-"

"And what if I want to come with my Stephy?" Touko suddenly replies back, crossing her arms while looking with an angry expression at Sora. "Can you still argue about that?"

"I-I mean, it can be scary and all, and I would assume you are frail-"

"Tch, thinking girls and women are only frail. What are you, five?" Touko replies to Sora as he can only scratch his neck in embarrassment. "Perhaps you still believe in cooties as well."

"Don't worry about him Touko, let's just go to the osprey." I tell her as I take her hand and we run to the osprey that will fly to the big bomber like aircraft that is apparently named Argo. We sit down at the chairs next to each other alongside the osprey's walls before we take a deep breath.

"You know, I probably would've been more nervous if you hadn't come with me, just way more anxious over what might happen to you-"

But as I say that, she replies with a kiss on my lips, before giggling.

"I am here now, okay? And I feel safer with you as well after all~" She says as I can't help but to blush at this fact.

"Hehe... Well, ahem, anyways, let's see Rodan up close then!"

"Exciting~!"

"Why are you two being excited about seeing Rodan..?!" Sora asks us as Touko just rolls her eyes at him and I scratch my chin. "I- Never mind I asked, I am just not cut for this job..."

"Definitely, Stephan is way more enthusiastic about this job than you seem to be." Touko snarky tells Sora as she clings on me. "So don't try taking away the fun my boyfriend has from this job."

"Yeah, yeah..." Sora just replies as he mutters and walks away to the front of the osprey before we feel it start lifting, to which both me and Touko hold each other's hands again to ease the nervousness.

"Even if it may be exciting, Rodan could be highly unpredictable right now. So we'll have to be ready." I tell Touko as she nods. "Right, let's see how the Argo looks like inside..!"

The osprey is quick to catch up with the Argo, and as the osprey jerks a little, the backside of it opens, revealing to us the hangar of the massive aircraft.

"Alright, this way!" Sora tells us two as we head immediately to the front of the aircraft.

At the helm, we can see several people running around, while some are constantly looking at the status of Rodan and try figuring out why he is so sour with having woken up.

"We will approach him as close as we can, do not provoke him-"

But as one of the military personnel on board says that, Rodan let's out a roar, rendering us all silent.

As we flew closer, he began spreading his wings as he continued roaring out, before getting his attention on the Argo.

"Turn around, turn around! Rodan has locked his sights onto the Argo, be prepared to engage in battle!" The military personnel informs the smaller aircraft surrounding us as the pilots for the Argo begin at once turning it around.

But Rodan wouldn't be the one to give up, as he begins soon taking off, having us in hot pursuit. With him letting out another roar, the chase begins...

Despite having been in a slumber for god knows how long, he seems to have not lost his ability to being the predator he used to be back in the day.

"Full force in the thrusters!" Someone says as the Argo begins picking up speed as Rodan shows to be very fast as well.

As we soon fly over Fujinomiya in hopes of averting Rodan's attention, it only proves to be a fatal mistake.

As Rodan flies over the buildings in the town, he levels it all just with the mere force of his fly-by. People on the ground scream in horror as they get flung away with the wind as well just like any vehicle around them, meeting their demises by additional rubble from buildings burying them.

"Oh my god..." Touko says as she is shocked to her bones after seeing what Rodan is capable of doing with just flying after a camera on the backside of the Argo shows us images of Rodan's current whereabouts.

"I don't like this sight either..." I tell to Touko as I pat her back before looking to Sora. "Warn the pilots to not fly above any other cities or towns, we have to keep Rodan on bay for now!"

"The pilots themselves saw what just happened, so don't worry..." Sora says as he anxiously bites on his nails. "Some of the employees had family in that town, so some are in great turmoil right now over that majority of the living space of the town got leveled in mere seconds."

"Damn it... Does Monarch have anything to at least subdue Titans in some way?" I ask him, but only gets shaking of his head in return. "Well, this will be rough..."

"Make sure to avert Rodan's attention from the cities as much you can!" The military guy says as the pilots just nods before swiftly beginning to turn the aircraft so we wouldn't head towards another city that the Titan might as well lay to ruins as well.

But even if the Argo catches the Titan's attention, he still goes for grabbing a fighter jet with his claw and easily crushes it.

"All personnel on board ospreys; Please ready your weaponry! We need to lure Rodan away from any other cities and towns!"

As quick as the order had been given, ospreys surround the Argo and each begins preparing to shot against Rodan.

"The bullets won't harm Rodan, but it's enough to catch his attention." Sora tells me, most likely feeling my slight unsureness that we might hurt a Titan, even if they are blazing of anger right now and doesn't care what is happening around them.

We soon hear machine guns getting fired at full force outside the aircraft as Rodan responds with another roar of his.

I decide to stand up as well at least and actually get a better view of the situation rather than just sitting down and looking at cameras that aren't really capturing every angle either way.

"You can sit down if you want to Touko, it's okay." I tell her as I turn to her and look in her eyes.

"...No, I went with you on here, so I better stay by your side as well!" She says as she stands up in front of me.

I smile at Touko before we both head up to the front of the aircraft, where the pilots are seated. Of course, it's no problem for others to pass by as the view is already clear enough.

"Rodan is chasing us, we need backup-" A radio feed suddenly interrupts with a loud static, and as we look to the left, we see Rodan come right our way, chasing ospreys that still hadn't grouped with us while one of the ospreys is falling down nose first, burning from having gotten clawed at by him.

"A live Titan, this close..." I say to myself as I look at Rodan, admiring his size and his overall appearance. The "Fire Demon, huh? Quite fitting, really quite fitting...

Rodan suddenly does a barrel roll in front of the Argo to faster reach the attacking ospreys, destroying some of them in the proccess.

"Shit, we are losing men..!" The military guy says as he grunts and seems like he is almost ready to hit the computer in front of him. "All fighters, assemble and collectively shoot missiles at Rodan to distract him!"

The fighter jet pilots responds to the call and begins assembling, before at the same time shooting out missiles that hits Rodan, greatly distracting him.

As he looks back at the jets, I can see the anger and confusion he is showing from having been shot by something more powerful than small ammunition from a machine gun.

He spreads out his wings as a mean to slow down before ascending over the Argo and begin targetting the fighter jets instead.

"Sir, Rodan is going for the fighter jets, he will attack them. Your move next!" One of the reasearchers tells the military guy who grunts yet again.

"God damn it, when will this nightmare end!" He soon replies with finally punching something, which was a desk instead luckily enough. Maybe should've punched a boulder instead even? "That giant fire turkey is unstoppable, a miracle at this point is the only thing that can stop it-"

We all suddenly hear another roar, but a more light one this time. Looking out the glass windows, me and Touko immediately spot something familiar on the ground, even if we are somewhat far up.

"Mothra!"

Mothra must've heard the commotion, so before she had taken and gotten ready for her beauty sleep, she took her time and got out here in the fields to get Rodan's attention so he would stop causing destruction and pain around. I hope she knows what she is doing with someone like him.

She let's out another roar to fully get Rodan's attention, this time with him actually turning his attention to her.

"Come on now, big girl, Rodan should recognize you at least..." I mutter as I look to Rodan who responds with his own roar before doing another barrel roll and soon diving right down towards Mothra, the shockwave from his sharp fly-by slightly sets us out of course, but we get back on it immediately after.

Though now we begin circulating the two Titans to see what in the world Mothra and Rodan are going to do.

As we see Rodan diving down at Mothra at full speed, the larva raises her head before sprouting out some sort of weaving from her beak-like mouth, most likely what she uses when cocooing herself, but works just as well as a defense weapon.

The weaving hits Rodan in his face, making him start twitching around, struggling to get it off, but Mothra sprouts out even more weaving at his face, and she also targets the wings of Rodan, making him soon completely lose control of his nose diving towards her.

Rodan soon crashes down onto the fields in front of Mothra, a loud boom erupting from the collision, still twitching around from the struggle of getting the Titan larva's weaving of him, but to no avail. He soon gives up and lays flat with his wings spread out, almost like he is sunbathing, which admittedly got a slight chuckle out of me.

"Rodan is down, I repeat, Rodan is down!" One of the pilots of the ospreys says everyone in the Argo celebrates that we got him pacified before any further harm could be done.

But I couldn't help but to still look down to where Mothra and Rodan is, and actually kinda smile as Rodan is just so lost after suddenly waking up from a long slumber like this. Mothra was there for us and helped us calm Rodan down, and hopefully she can persuade him that he should take a chill pill or two.

"Hey, you two! We will prepare an escort osprey so you two can come back to Shinjuku safe and sound!" Sora tells us, but... I can't help but to feel the urge to wanting to at least see the Titans up close.

"I... No, never mind. I think we two have had enough adventure for today." I say as I grab Touko's ever so soft hand and look at her in the eyes. "Let's go then, my beloved."

"Of course! Let's go home and tell the others about this~!"

"Yeah, it will be one heck of a story for the band girls to hear, haha!" I reply to Touko as I think about how unbelieveable it all will sound. Or will it, considering that Titans are rapidly getting more known about in the public..? Eh, we'll see!

As we two make our way to the hangar and sit down inside the osprey, Touko lays a hand on my own, and looks at me with that expression when she is worried over me.

"Touko, I am not worried-"

"No, but you hesitated back when Sora told us we could get back to Shinjuku."

"Dang it, you read me too well at times..." I mutter as Touko giggles a little.

"I can't just ignore whenever my boyfriend holds something in, can I?" She replies as she lightly kisses my cheek, which makes me lightly blush in return. "You look out after me, and I will do the same."

"Alright, you win. Well, in short; I wanted our escort to actually take us down to Mothra and Rodan, as I wanted to see up close how they communicated."

"Ooh, I see~"

"But I soon decided that it's better to take it easy for the rest of the day. And I rather see to that you are safe and sound."

I lean back after having told Touko why I hesitated, not long after I get a feel of her tilting her head onto my shoulder, which I respond with tilting my head against her's.

"Love you, Touko."

"And I love you so much as well, Stephy."

Yeah, with Touko on my side, I can remain feeling like I can do anything with only the sky being the limit. And if she wants to come with me on any other researchs and Titan hunting, then I won't stop her, as she is quite the thrill seeker as well I've noticed.

I guess us hanging out a little more after we get back home shouldn't hurt~
