Just like that, Friday came. Garnet hadn't realized it was Friday until she got a text from Pearl.

{Pearl} Hey, I'm going to be a bit late. Is that okay?

Garnet made a small gasp of surprise. She had lost track of time! So, she texted back;

{Garnet} I'll be a bit late also. See you there!

And she left as quickly as possible.

Once at the movie theater, she waited near the door. Garnet was wearing a red tank top with a deep raspberry red leather jacket and jeans with deep blue boots. She adjusted her shades, watching for Pearl. Finally, a blue Volts-Wagon arrived and Pearl stepped out with a boy. Pearl looked as beautiful as ever, her peach hair curled slightly, wearing a pale blue sundress and soft pink flats. The boy was wearing a pink shirt with a star on it and a pink tutu over his jeans. He looked up at Garnet and grinned happily.

"Sorry I'm late! I forgot I was babysitting today, so do you mind if Steven comes along?"

"Not at all." Garnet said with a smile.

"Are you a fighter??" Steven asked.

"I'm a boxer, but I'm not a fighter." Garnet replied. Steven grinned more.

"What movie are we seeing?" Garnet asked Pearl.

"Dogcopter 3!!" Steven interjected excitedly. Pearl smiled sheepishly.

"He really wanted to see it, but Rose and Greg couldn't take him, so I offered." She mouthed. Garnet nodded.

"Who's Rose and Greg?"

"Steven's parents." Steven looked up at Pearl, waiting to go in.

"Oh! We should go inside." Pearl noted. The three went in, bought tickets and then went to get food.

"Can I have Cookie Cat Bites??" Steven asked.

"Sure. Do you want popcorn?" Garnet asked.

"Of course!" He replied. Once snacks were gathered, they went into the theater.

"Do you want to sit with me and Garnet?" Pearl asked.

"I wanna sit up front!!" Steven said, bouncing on his heels.

"Heh, alright. Behave yourself, okay?" Garnet said, ruffling his curly hair. Steven nodded and ran to the front.

"Let's sit here." Pearl suggested and the duo sat down. The lights dimmed slowly and Garnet then could admire Pearl without her noticing. As the movie progressed, Garnet could barely pay attention, since Pearl was so breathtakingly beautiful. She smelled sweet, like blueberries and sugar, and her smile was radiant and profound. Garnet so badly wanted to kiss her, but she wasn't sure how to. So, she yawned and put her arm around Pearl. She looked at Pearl, nervous for her reaction, but Pearl smiled at her, squeezing her hand.

Now's my chance!!

Garnet leaned over and kissed Pearl softly. Pearl was surprised at first, but she relaxed into the kiss. She tasted of the popcorn they had shared with a hint of Coca Cola. Garnet throughly enjoyed this, as she ran her fingers through her peach hair. Once they pulled away, Pearl smiled at Garnet with her face blushing boldly.

"Pearl...I...I love you." Garnet whispered.

"I love you too, Garnet." She replied shyly.

When they left, Steven was babbling about the movie excitedly. Garnet nodded, but all she could focus on was Pearl. How kind she was to Steven, how  genuine her smiles were, and how pretty her voice was.

"I've got to go, but, do you want to go grab coffee next week?" Pearl asked.

"S-sure!" Garnet stammered.

"See you then." She said, kissing Garnet. Then, she left with Steven. Garnet had never been so in love.
