It had been a month since Izuku broke up with with Katsuki. They had been dating for about two years, and Katsuki was gearing up to propose to the boy. On the night they split, Izuku broke down to the floor crying, sobbing about how Katsuki was cruel, and he would never change. This broke Katsuki's heart in about fifty different ways. He knew he was harsh in the past, but he genuinely thought he had changed. But according to Izuku on that night, he hadn't changed one bit.

On this night, Katsuki had decided to take a stroll downtown to try and clear his mind. He glanced across the street at the café that they had gone for their first date. He smiled sadly to himself, but then his sights landed on something that sent pure rage and heartbreak through his veins. Standing there was Izuku wrapped up in a hug with Shoto. The two were all shits and giggles, nuzzled up against one another. 

Katsuki had never remembered a time when Izuku and him had looked so happy. Maybe they'd crack the occasional smile around each other, but never anything like this. Not once. It was all becoming clear to him as to why Izuku broke up with him. How could that boy stay with him for two godforsaken years being so depressed? Not that Izuku was actually depressed, but Katsuki had no other explanation at the moment. 

Katsuki was still deep in love with Izuku, but now he'd seemed to move on. If Shoto ever hurt Katsuki in any way, he would be there for Izuku right away. Katsuki thought that maybe Shoto and Izuku were just hanging out as friends, but he had no confirmation or denial of the situation. 

After a quick trip to the liquor store, Katsuki headed back to his apartment. He slouched down at his desk and cracked open the bottle, bringing the lip of the bottle to his mouth and taking a considerable swig. "He's happier.." Katsuki kept repeating to himself, mentally and verbally. 

He got on his phone and decided to call his best friend, Eijirou. The redhead had once warned Katsuki that he should soften up on Izuku, and despite his efforts, he couldn't seem to change too much. Even now, Katsuki was still snappy and rude most times. The pair talked about what had just happened for a couple hours before Eijriou mentioned that he had to leave. 

Now, Katsuki was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram when he came across a picture that made his heart stop. As if he hadn't thought about this event enough tonight, here it was staring him right in the face. To top it all off, the caption and tags had confirmed what Katsuki had been fearing. He was this close to snapping his phone in half and throwing it across the room. He refrained and let himself cry instead, nursing the now-empty bottle next to him.
