Chapter 1: Dinner With My Brother & A Stranger

Villains came at me from all angles and I ducked, trying to avoid the attacks. "Shit, these guys are strong!" I ran on the empty street, finally finding a vacant car. I scrambled on top of it (no easy feat for someone as short as me) and stood up to face the villains. "Come at me dipshit!" I screamed at one in particular because his acid Quirk was a serious pain in the ass. As he lunged for me, I pulled out an acupuncture needle from my small weapon pouch on my thigh and aimed it straight for his neck.

It flew straight and true like an arrow, slicing through his skin. He fell to the ground and I knew that I had knocked him out. Another one pulled out a gun and fired causing me to smirk a little; metal couldn't touch me. I jumped off the car, grabbing the bullet in the process. The villain stared at me in horror as I rolled the metal bullet around in my palm. We made eye contact and I smiled at him sweetly before throwing the bullet back, speeding it up with my Quirk until it was going faster than before. I watched it plunge into his shoulder when a hand reached for me from behind.

I quickly let loose a roundhouse kick, the titanium from my metal plated shoes connecting with his jaw. The last villain caught a glimpse of my sadistic grin and decided it was best to run away. "What's wrong? Are you scared you son of a bitch?!" I eagerly chased after him, unsheathing my two long daggers that had been hidden up my sleeves. I threw one and it sunk into the villains shoulder. He collapsed onto the ground, blood spilling out onto the street. I smashed the hilt of my second blade against the back of his neck; he was knocked unconscious instantly.

I roughly jerked my first dagger out of the villains limp body and dragged all the others near him. I quickly used my Quirk to have different pieces of wire and metal wrap around their wrists into makeshift handcuffs until the police came here to dispose of them properly.

As I waited, the sun sank lower and lower in the sky, causing an unpleasant chill to fill the air. I shivered a little, seeing that my costume didn't offer much protection. My costume consisted of a cropped silver hoodie that was covered in rips and exposed my midriff. My skintight black bottoms were hardly better; they were a pair of booty shorts that were covered in more distressing. I had two, small leather pouches that were attached to my thighs that contained a variety of metal weapons such as kunai, a BB gun, some extra rounds, and my acupuncture needles. My shoes were black Converse covered with graffiti and plated with metal. They also had bright red insults painted onto the soles so that when I kicked someone, they got a "FUCK YOU" or "EAT THIS BITCH" as well.

Yet, despite my amazing design, it had one fatal flaw; I had no protection against the elements. So I was left to shiver miserably until the police finally arrived. "Thanks again Alloy!" A young police officer tipped his hat to me and winked. I gave him a quick smile before running off into the streets, my lavender bangs fluttering in the nighttime wind.

9:00 pm rolled around and I sent a quick text to my boss, Edge Shot.

Hey big man, finished my rounds, beat some ass, and now I'm gonna go home. See ya tomorrow

I tucked my phone away and headed back to my small apartment as fast as I could. Once I was home I took a hot shower, lathering my hair in a copious amount of suds.

I even allowed myself to use some of the oils that one of my best friends, Ochaco Uraraka, had given me. Finally, I decided to finish my pampering with a face mask. As I laid it on, my long lavender hair held back with a cute fuzzy teddy bear headband, I heard my phone ring.

I grabbed it while trying to keep my face as still as possible and checked the message. It was from my older brother, Todoroki Shoto. Well, he wasn't actually my older brother, but it felt that way. We had known each other since we were kids and I had just adopted the fact that he was my older brother and that I was his younger sister (he's one year older than me).

Mitski, meet me for dinner and drinks. I want to introduce you to an old friend of mine.

I read the text with weary eyes. I didn't want to go... I wanted to stay home and cuddle in my blankets with an instant ramen cup in my hands.

Shoto do I have to go?

Yes.

"Fuck he's using periods. He must really want me to go..."

Fine. Text me the address and I'll be there in 15 minutes

I pulled off my robe and started digging through my closet. My face mask was still on because I was not about to waste it. Finally I pulled out a white baggy long sleeve shirt that was covered in small black stars and moons. I decided to pair it with my black pleated miniskirt and tall black boots. I was not in the mood to try and figure out a nice color combination, so monochrome it was.

I peeled off the face mask, still in my skimpy lingerie, and washed off the extra slime. I quickly applied some minimal makeup including a bit of eyeliner and mascara. Finally, I grabbed my clothes and threw them on after pulling off my girly headband. I checked my reflection in the full length mirror that I kept in my room. "Not bad for ten minutes..." I had decided to keep my lavender hair down because it was easy. I grabbed my wallet and tucked it into a secret pocket in my short skirt. As I was putting it away, I noticed how thin my lacy panties and bra were.

"Oh well... No one will notice anyways." And with that final thought dismissed, I ran out the door.

Luckily for me the small sushi and sake restaurant was near my apartment, so I made it just in time. "Hey Shoto!" I waved to him as I saw him walking toward the restaurant as well. He smiled at me and gave me a small wave back. There was someone trailing behind Shoto, but I could only make out a slouchy figure with no detail.

I waited for them patiently at the entrance, curious as to who was behind him. Shoto walked up to me, embracing me in a quick hug and ruffling my hair a little. I pushed his hand away and laughed gently. "Stop Shoto..." He just chuckled and stepped to the side so I could see his friend. "Mitski, meet Bakugo Katsuki. Bakugo, this is Nika Mitski." I sent him a little wave and he just nodded his head in recognition. Bakugo was lean beyond compare, his muscles obvious even through his shirt. He had a slight scowl on his face and his crimson eyes gave off an impending feeling of intimidation.

"He's kinda hot..."

I tried to clear my head of such a thought as we walked into the sushi bar. I somehow ended up in the middle as we sat at the bar. We ordered quickly and even got some sake; I was itching to down my shot after such a long day, but I restrained myself. As small talk began, I started to learn more about Bakugo. He was in the same class as Shoto when we attended U.A. and was an incredibly strong hero. "But the real reason I wanted to introduce you two is because Bakugo has recently transferred into your territory Mitski. And your agencies want you two to become partners."

"What?!" Both Bakugo and I cried out. "I don't need a partner! I'm perfectly capable on my own!" I tried to keep myself from pouting, but the anger was crashing over me like waves. "Yeah! I agree! I'm the strongest fuckin' hero ever and they think that I need backup from this little runt? She looks like she can't even reach the top shelf without a damn step stool!"

"Hey! I'm not that short!" I glared at Bakugo who just rolled his eyes while Shoto watched with amusement. "Well, I'm just here to let you know what the agencies wanted." He sipped on his sake. "But I doubt that the plan will change. They seem pretty set on the idea, but if you want to fight them be my guest. It'll be fun to watch you two get rejected." Shoto snickered a little before standing up. "I should leave now, but you two stay. It would be beneficial for you two to spend some time together."

"Are you sure?" I whispered to Shoto when I stood up to give him a hug goodbye. "Yes, I'm sure." he whispered back. I watched him leave and then sat back down. Bakugo and I glanced at one another but we quickly looked away. Awkwardness settled in and I reached for my sake, taking little sips. "Can you pass me the bottle?" Bakugo pointed to the sake bottle that was on the other side of the table. "Sure..." I passed him the bottle. The tinkling of sake hitting the glass was all the noise that we made.

I just stared into my cup before drinking a bit more. "So... Bakugo..." I looked over at him trying to think of conversation when I saw that half of the bottle was gone. "What the hell?!" I watched him down his shot with little effort, then he poured himself another one, repeating the process.

"Hey! Should you be drinking that much?!" I pulled the bottle away from him with worried eyes. He just looked at me strangely. "What, you think that I don't know my limit?!" he growled at me in a gravelly voice. I delicately poured myself a second drink. "It's not that, but we have work tomorrow. I will not have my partner wasted on our first day."

"So you've accepted the fact that we're gonna become a team?" He narrowed his eyes at me as I drank. "Yeah... I texted my boss and he said that it was a definite fact. There was no way that I could change his mind. Your boss has already made an agreement with him." I heard Bakugo growl angrily when I said this. "However, it's only temporary. They just want to see how it works." I looked into his crimson eyes before I said the next part. "But listen to me very carefully. We will not slack in the least, okay? I don't care if it means that we'll be partners forever, I'm going to try my best to make this work because I'm a hero. Not a child."

Bakugo stared at me for a while before breaking out into a grin. "Alright, alright... I can respect you for that. I'll become number one regardless." His cocky smirk was as annoying as it was sexy. "Stop thinking like that!"

Bakugo grabbed the sake bottle and began pouring another shot; I shook my head, but decided to trust him, hoping that he could hold his liquor as well as he claimed. We talked for a little bit longer until I noticed that I was getting a little tipsy. "Fuck... I need to go home before I say something stupid."

I tried to stand up with minimal swaying, holding on to the back of my chair. "I'll see you tomorrow Bakugo, I need to get back to my place."

"Well the bottle's empty so I guess I'll leave too." He aggressively stood up and grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair. I watched him with dismay as I picked up on the small missteps that he was taking; he was going to have a hangover tomorrow. "Let's go, I might as well walk you home."

"No you don't have to-"

"Shut up! I know that I don't have to you damn idiot." He crankily stormed in front of me and I couldn't help but let out a small giggle. "He's actually kinda sweet..." We walked all the way to my apartment complex before he said anything else to me. "Bye Nika, I'll see you tomorrow." Bakugo gruffly gave his goodbyes before continuing down the street. I watched him leave with a small smile on my lips. Maybe this partnership wouldn't be so bad after all.
