Talent show (Read as: Shit show?)

"Kurin! Can I talk to you for a second?"

Ah yes, exactly what Kurin loved to hear when they were about to head off to the libary. Dan Kouzo asking to talk to them. Nothing against the guy by the way, Kurin actually quite likes Dan. He just has a tendency to make things go on and on when they should only really take like... A minute.

They turned to face the red streaked boy, "Sure, what's up?" They asked, seriously hoping it wouldn't cut into their libary time too much.

"So... You know the talent show the school's doing this year..?"

Oh they absolutely do. It's all everyone's been talking about since it was announced this morning. They nod, "Yeah, what about it?"

Dan gave a small hopeful smile. "Well.. I was thinking of entering and I was hoping you could help me out with my preformance?"

Kurin blinked.

"Ah, right, well, I'm not a fan of public humiliation so whether or not I can help really depends-"

"Um well I don't know if you'd consider it embarrassing. Just... You can play piano right?"

Alright, who let that slip. Most likely Magnus, that fucking bit-
Wait nevermind, Dan is his next door neighbour, he can probably hear them practicing in his room.

They frowned, "Only on a basic level as I just started learning a few months ago. Why?"

Dan broke into a grin, "Do you know the song..." He whispered the name into Kurin's ear.

Silence and then Kurin burst into laughter, "Oh my gods, are you serious?" Dan nodded. "Okay, okay. Yeah I'll help with that. It genuinely sounds hilarious."

"Aaah thank you so much, you're the best!"

That was how Kurin ended up here. Sitting behind a piano to the side of the stage that'd been set up for the school talent show in front of a crowd of students.
They spotted Trey near the front, shooting them a confused look. Which was fair considering they'd told him they hadn't signed up.
Which was technically true, they hadn't signed up, Dan had.

Miss Sykes walked on stage, "Alright, now we have Dan Kouzo, with piano accompaniment from Kurin Kravitz."

The crowd of students started giggling, whispering if Dan was going to seriously attempt to sing a song.

Sykes nodded at Kurin, "Begin when you're ready." She told them, walking offstage.

The lights went off.

Then slowly turned back on again to reveal Dan standing on stage holding a microphone.

Kurin began playing the piano.

Every student who recognised the song instantly began trying to hold back their laughter.
In all honesty, Kurin knew them and Dan would have the same struggle.

Why though? What kind of song would cause this sort of reaction?

"Everytime I go to dinner, feels like I'm getting a little bit thinner~" Dan begun singing.

What other song would Dan possibly be performing than My Whole Family Thinks I'm Gay?

By the time they finished, both them and the audience of students were in hysterical laughter.
Kurin noticed Trey had his phone out, camera aimed at the stage. They would have to ask him to send the video that he no doubt took to them later on the walk home.

For now though, they snuck offstage while Dan took his bows.

Unlike someone, they didn't exactly want the spotlight. Especially not when that spotlight is directly in front of all their classmates.
They're really not a fan of public humiliation and while the preformance itself was more than fine... Dan's ridiculously overdramatic bows at the end were not.
