Chapter Twenty Five
A scream was heard from their daughter's room. Izuku has just finished scooping pasta onto everyone's plates, and the sound of shattering glass caused them both to drop everything and run.
Izuku, being nearly 7 months pregnant, was much slower, but Katsuki races ahead. He threw the door open, and saw a blonde halfway through his window.
For once in his life, he really didn't know what to do. He raced over to Zoë's bed and shielded her behind him. Izuku has finally managed to get into the room and was brandishing a ladle.
"TAKE ANOTHER STEP, DENKI, I DARE YOU. THIS IS STILL HOT."
Bakugo bit his lip to keep from laughing.
"What he said!"
Both men sprung into action, and Kaminari scrambled back out the window.
They all just looked at each other.
Zoë opened her eyes, and focused on the faces around her.
"Um, Zoë?" Kirishima asked gently. "You okay, hun?"
"O-oh now, I feel asleep at the table again!" She tried to bow in apology, but didn't get very far in a wheelchair.
Bakugo ruffled her hair.
"Kid, you're on more medication than Recovery Girl's seen in her life. You sleep all you want."
Zoë smiled, and Izuku placed a small plate of instant mashed potatoes.
"Only the finest!" Izuku joked, handing her a spoon. She giggled. Izuku took his own seat.
"Thank you for the food!" Everyone chorused. Izuku smiled widely. Bakugo gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"So, Testutetsu, hows Kirika doing?" Izuku asked, concerned.
He gave a sad smile.
"She's still upset, but she's been hanging out with Ashido's daughter, and she's a good kid, so I'm glad for that."
Bakugo turned away from Zoë and whispered.
"Did you all here that no one's heard anything about Denki since he disappeared? The same for Melody. And with Yukino and Momo still out there, we've got a big fuckin' problem on our hands."
Izuku slapped Katsuki with the ladle.
"LANGUAGE!"
Melody tried her best to cover her face, but she couldn't stop the tears. All of the adults turned to look at her, realizing that she had heard everything they said.
"B-Baby..." Bakugo whispered. He stood up and rushed over to her.
"I'm tired Dad," Zoë whispered. "I'm tired."
Bakugo teared up himself, and nodded. Kirishima and Testutestu waved goodbye and left. He grabbed the handles of her chair and wheeled her out of the kitchen, and into her room. He closed the door behind her, helped her change into a pair of fleece pajamas, and pulled back her comforters. He lifted her into bed, and sat on the end of it.
"Baby, I can tell something's bothering you." He wiped a tear out of her eye. Zoë gave a weak smile.
"You know, nobody else in my class would be talking to their dad about their feelings."
Bakugo smirked.
"Well then, fuck them!"
As soon as he said it, he jumped slightly and tensed. Zoë started giggling, realizing that he was worried Izuku would hear him. He scowled, and seeing Zoe's face he instantly stopped.
"God, I'm fuckin' pathetic," he whispered. Zoë reaches out, and he touched her hand.
"Huh?"
"You know...back when I was in middle school...I wasn't like you. You're perfect. You get good grades, have friends, people trust you. I didn't have friends. I had followers. Even in grade school, people were too scared to be my friend so I threatened them until I could fool myself into thinking I was normal." He nearly started crying. "Your Papa was one of those people. We...we got to middle school, and my mental health was shit. One day, I snapped. I couldn't stand it anymore. I snapped and it hold your father..." he sobbed. "I told him to kill himself, and to pray that he was born with a Quirk in his next life."
Zoë gasped softly. Bakugo turned towards her, tears streaking down his face.
"I know. I know. I'm a horrible fucking human being." He laid down next to Zoë and pulled him into her arms. "And to this day, I still forget who I am now and snap. People, even my own daughter, are still scared of me. I don't deserve you or your father."
They sat in silence for a good two minutes.
Then the door was busted open, and Izuku walked in.
"Oh give me a BREAK, Katsuki!" He screamed. He ran over, smacking Katsuki again with the ladle.
"Fucking OW!" He roared. Izuku just hit him again.
"I don't even know what to say! Yes, back in middle school, you were a self-centered, homophobic, crusty, annoying ugly piece of shit."
Zoë just sat there awkwardly, never having heard Izuku swear.
"But you know what? Who cares?! Who gives a shit?! Back in middle school, I would write love poems about you in my stupid goddamn All Might notebook, okay?! We were BOTH dumbasses!"
They all sat there in silence.
Zoë and Bakugo then burst out laughing.
"P-Papa!" She laughed, choking on her own laughs.
"Z-Zuku!" Katsuki wheezed. He ran over to him and twirled him around, embracing him and kissing him deeply. He then fell to the floor laughing. Izuku's amuses gave only made him laugh louder. "Y-You...you used to WHAT?!"
Izuku blushed.
"I...I cannot believe I just admitted that."
Zoë started crying from laughing so hard. Katsuki's eyes widened. He bolted out of the room towards the stairs.
"KATSUKI! KATSUKI BAKUGO! IF YOU ARE GOING UP TO THE ATTIC TO FIND MY SHIT FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL, I SWEAR TO-"
Katsuki stood on top of the stairs, brandishing a notebook like a Bible, and reading in a loud, dramatic voice.
"If kisses were raindrops, I'd send you showers! If hugs were seconds, I'd send you hours! If smiles were water, I'd send you the sea! And if love was a person, I'd send you me!"
Bakugo nearly fell down the stairs laughing, and Zoë quickly got in her chair and sped down the hallway. Izuku was standing at the bottom of the stairs, bright red, as Bakugo turned the page.
"Also, I want him to fuck m-"
Izuku sprinted up the stairs and snatched the journal out of his hands.
"IT DOES NOT SAY THAT!" He shrieked. Realizing Zoë was watching, he threw his head into his hands.
Bakugo disappeared up the stairs again, and Izuku pulled the ladder down, trapping him, and shutting the trapdoor.
Bakugo's muffled voices could still be heard.
"Every day with you gives me a chill! All of my dreams you richly fulfill! I'm a fool for your charms, you belong in my arms; love me, please say that you will!"
