Chapter Thirty

"Hey look! It's the cripple!" Akira yelled, shoving Zoë against her locker.
"W-What?" She asked, the wind knocked out of her. Her books were smacked out of her hands.
"Oh, just shut up! YOU'RE the reason Yukino and Melody are gone. They were our best friends!" Shiroi yelled. "And you made them into villains!"
         Zoë held back tears.
        "H-Huh?! I...I didn't!"
"You DID!" Akira yelled. "My parents finally told me what happened- someone leaked to the news what REALLY happened about your fight at the USJ, AND all of the pain and suffering you've caused for so many of the pros for being so damn weak!"
       "I-I'm not...weak!" Zoë sobbed.
"Aw, the poor baby's crying!" Shiroi laughed. "Not weak my ass. Some hero she is."
"Hero? Ha. She's worse than a villain. If it weren't for her dads, she probably would've never gotten into UA. She's just a spoiled bitch who tries on her parents' popularity."
"It's not my fault my dads are stronger than your parents!" Zoë snapped. Akira punched her in the face.
"Say. That. Again. I dare you, bitch."
        Zoë was silent.
Akira eventually let her go, kicking her books down the hallway.
"Just go kill yourself. No one wants you here anyways."
Both girls walked away, and Zoë sank to her knees.
What the hell had just happened? How? How could they have known her weak spot? After Yukino and Melody were taken, she never stopped blaming herself.
She picked herself up, and walked outside to the bus, sitting as far in the back as she could. What she would give for Kirika or Sakura to be there- they had both gotten the flu, and couldn't attend school.

"So, baby, tell me about your day!" Izuku smiled, setting a plate of steak in front of her.
"Anything fun happen today?" Bakugo chimed in.
"No," she whispered. Bakugo and Izuku exchanges glances.
      "Nothing? Nothing at all?"
"NO," she replied, more forcefully this time. "It's none of your business!"
"What the hell's going on?!" Bakugo yelled, his fists crashing onto the table, spilling his glass of water. "You've never talked back like that! Explain yourself!"
Before Izuku could meditate, Zoë stood up.
"I SAID I'M FUCKING FINE." She screamed. She ran to her room and locked the door. Bakugo's mouth was wide open, and a scowl crossed his face.
"I don't think so! We've raised you better than that, Zoë Bakugo! Open the door!" He yelled. Izuku slapped him.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Katsuki?!" He shrieked.
"What the hell am I doing?! She just cursed me out and lied to me!"
The lock clicked open, and Bakugo faced the door in less than a second. Zoë has thrown the door open.
Tears were freely streaming down her face.
"YOU WANNA KNOW WHY I'M SO UPSET?! DO YOU?! IT'S BECAUSE SHIROI AND AKIRA TOLD ME I SHOULD KILL MYSELF, AND THAT YOU WOULDN'T MISS ME. THEY SAID I WAS WEAK AND I BELIEVE THEM. I CAN'T KEEP CAUSING YOU PAIN."
Bakugo was taken aback. Izuku covered his mouth in shock.
"They...they said WHAT?!" Izuku whispered. "Asui's and Ashido's..." Bakugo simply fell to the floor on all fours.
        He was speechless.
        "I...I...Zoë..."
Izuku walked over to their daughter.
"Zoë, I'm not sure if you know this, but either Dad or me would give our LIVES to let you live. You are our everything. The only, ONLY way your could cause us pain is if you listened to those horrible things!"
Zoë nodded weakly, and threw herself into her dad's arms. He stroked her hair gently, whispering soothing words. Bakugo still hadn't lifted his gaze from the floor.
Bakugo seemingly regained his senses. He bolted upwards, and ripped her away from Izuku. He pulled her into a fierce hug, openly weeping.
"YOU. YOU PROMISE ME RIGHT NOW. YOU WILL NOT EVER ACT ON THOSE THOUGHTS. EVER."
Zoë nodded, terrified. Bakugo then kissed the top of her head, weeping.
"My baby! My Zoë! My own daughter! You were in so much pain, and I couldn't even see it! I jumped to conclusions and made you feel even worse about yourself. Zoë, a few more minutes with you unsupervised..."
Bakugo wailed, a heart-wrenching sound unlike anything Zoë had ever heard in her life. It was as if his heart was being ripped out of his chest, and the very air burned his skin. He had fallen to the floor again, and Izuku had bent down, and Zoë also crawled over.
"Daddy?" She whispered. Bakugo lifted his head, barely able to meet her gaze.
         "Yes, baby?" He stuttered.
She pointed into her room from the hallway. The only thing near where she had been sitting, was her Ground Zero plush toy, and the small blanket Izuku had made her when she was a baby.
           "I...I wasn't going to...do anything. I promise. I was just...scared."
Bakugo held out his arms, and Zoë crawled into them, the place where she felt the safest in the world.
"I'm going to contact Aizawa, and we'll set you up with a guidance counselor, okay? We'll get through this, okay?"
Zoë nodded and then smiled sheepishly.
"Can I...can I sleep with you tonight?"
Bakugo wiped his eyes and grinned. As embarrassing as it was, Zoë still felt the safest when she was close to her parents. Most teenagers didn't really do that, and she was the exception.
"Of course. Go get your pajamas on, Kay?"

She crawled into the huge, fluffy bed, the white comforters enveloping her tired body. Settled between Izuku and Katsuki, she cuddled into Katsuki's chest, and Izuku wrapped his hands around her, and she squeezed his hand. Bakugo kissed her on the top of her head.
By now, the whole event seemed like a dream, but Bakugo wasn't as calm on the inside as he was on the outside.
I'll kill them. Those bitches who hurt her. I don't care if Ashido and Sero are her parents, or even Asui or Tokoyami...they are going to PAY for hurting my daughter. My world. My everything.
