Izuku's pov (he's 4 rn)

I excitedly ran up to my best and only friend Kacchan, I found out I had a quirk yesterday and I can't wait to show him!

"Kacchan!" I yell as I ran over to him, he looks up from his Allmight figure and smiles.

"Hi Izu! How was your birthday yesterday?" I smiled even wider and hugged Kacchan.

"It was amazing! I got my quirk!" I yelled, excited for his reaction, he started jumping up and down demanding to know what it was. I took a small breath in and when I blew out flames came out of my mouth. Kacchan's face lit up like a Christmas tree as I began to manipulate it into things, even turning it to the shape of the Allmight figure he was playing with earlier. As I finished playing with the flame as it died out Kacchan took my hands.

"You and me are gonna be the best heroes! I'll be number 1 and you'll be number 2, Or the other way around! I don't really care as long as you're by my side!" I smiled and held out my pinky.

"I promise I'll be by your side no matter what!"

Flash forward

We've kept that promise for over a decade, Kacchan and I are almost inseparable, we do almost everything together, hell! We even trained together for the sports festival and tied for 1st! Tomorrow is Kacchan's 16th birthday, which means tomorrow is the day he finds out who his soulmate is.. I'm happy for him, I really am it's just... uh, nevermind.. I'll just ruin his day.

I walk towards Kacchan's dorm room, he turns 16 at exactly 1 am, so Kacchan and I are having a sleepover at his dorm so we can have cake and find out his soulmate exactly when it shows up. I knock on Kacchan's door and wait for a minute he opens the door ready to yell but his frown is replaced with a smile as soon as he sees it's me.

"Hey izu! Come in, come in. I have all the things we're gonna need to stay up ready to go, I have our favourite movies and video games and I also have the alarm set at 12:55 so we can get the cake ready!" I smile at his rambling, he always makes fun of me for it, but I never brought up his. I find it adorable and I know he'll stop if I point it out.

"Good thing you didn't get snacks because I spent over 50 dollars on these" I said as I motioned over to the 2 bags in my hand, Kacchan laughed as he closed the door behind us as we walked inside. The night was filled with laughter, food, coffee, and video games. We were telling each other offensive pick up lines when the alarm went off, I immediately got the birthday cake I pick up from the small bakery in town, across the cake in cursive handwriting said
"Happy birthday Kacchan!" The cake had an explosion design on the side. I quickly put candles on the cake and lit them and slowly brought it over to Kacchan.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear ground zero~" Kacchan chuckled at the mention of his hero name, and it made me giggle through the last line.

"Happy birthday to-" I was quickly interrupted by Kacchan yelling  'me!' As he blew out the candles, as I cut the cake I looked up at Kacchan and tried to remember every feature, his ash blond hair that matched his ruby red eyes absolutely perfectly, the way his cheeks would blush when he laughed, his laugh, oh it was one of the best things about his explosive crush. He handed Kacchan his cake and had to fight to keep a smile on his face when he realized it was 1 am.

"It's 1 am." I said was half fake, half real enthusiasm, I covered it up with a yawn to make it seem like I was tired, in reality I was wide awake. I kept thinking, who's gonna be the person to steal the love of my life away from me? Ochaco? Momo? Todoroki- wait no, todoroki's soulmate is Iida. I watched as Kacchan rolled down his sleeve and fought to stop a smile from growing on his face.

He knows them, he already likes them.. I have no chance. I don't show my emotions because I should be happy for him, but.. ugh! I wish this soulmate thing didn't exist! I don't care who I get I just want him.

"Well? Who is it!?" Kacchan looks at me like he's thinking about something, then he pull up his sleeve so I can't see what it says.

"I'll wait until you have yours, so we can show each other together." He says as he smiles, I look at him, mouth agape.

"What?! Why can't I know now?" I ask as I stuff cake in my mouth, I just want to get my heartbreak over with! He smiles and pats my head

"Don't worry, you only have to wait... 3 months." I death glare at him as he laughs. I sigh and ask if he wants to play Mario, he replies with "hell yeah" and I'm left wondering who is gonna take my Kacchan away.

Month 1
I came up with a plan, I would just annoy Kacchan into telling me, simple as that! Well, I get impatient very easily and Kacchan can play a long game. He once told me the day after my birthday he already knew what he was getting for me next year, I asked him everyday what it was and he never got tired of it! I groan into my pillow.

"Why does he have to be such an ass!" I whisper yell to myself as I turn on my favourite movie, John wick.

Month 2
This is absolute torture, Kacchan wouldn't tell me so I kept trying to see it, he started wearing things on his wrists to stop me from seeing, now he always keeps his wrist wrapped so I don't see, when he's asked about it he even says flat out

"Because someone keeps trying to see who my soulmate is and I told them to wait so now I have to cover it so they don't see"

I cuddle up to a huge plushie he gave me for my 10th birthday and sighed.

"I'm not gonna make it until my birthday!" At this point I don't even want a soulmate if Kacchan has a soulmate he already loves.

Month 3
I'm sooooooooo close to finding out! Kacchan started writing letters to his soulmate and on his soulmates 16th birthday he's going to give the letters to them, the letters basically are Kacchan saying how much he loves them and reminiscing about all the good memories they've had together, I think it's some in our class because I caught him writing about an event that happened to 1-a in one of the letters, when Kacchan noticed me looking at what he was writing he smiled and said

"Izuku, you'll find out on your birthday, don't do that or I won't ever tell you who it is." I sighed, but nodded and walked back to the dorms.

Now it's the day before my birthday I was born at 7am, so Kacchan is coming over to my dorm with all the presents he got me (because he rich) and isn't letting me open them until after I find out who my "soulmate" is, not gonna lie if it's mineta I'm killing myself. I even told Kacchan that in front of mineta, he started laughing and I looked at him dead in the eyes and said

"You think I'm joking, don't you?" He continued to laugh.

I was quickly snapped out of my thoughts by a knock on the door, I got up and was met face to face with Kacchan, I smiled and moved aside so he could come in. He had lots, and I mean lots of gifts, he had so many that he had Kirishima help carry them from his dorm! I looked at him disappointed.

"Kacchan, you didn't have to do this for me, I would've been fine with a card." I admit as I look at the large, medium and small gifts that were stacked in the corner of my room. He laughed.

"You've been my best friend since we were 4, it's been over a decade, you've stuck with me through thick and thin. This is my thank you... and apology that you put up with me for so long" his statement earned a laugh out of me. We spent the night talking about how fast the years had went by, then we watched all 3 John wicks, then we played Mario kart. By the time all was said and done at was 6am.

"Hey izu?" I looked over at him and hummed in response. He looked back at me with a billion dollar smile that made my heart race.

"Wanna open your presents?" A smile made it way onto my features as I basically jumped up and down with excitement.

He handed me my presents one by open after opening them, he got me loads of things, to list a few. 13 more good quality notebooks, lots of plushies, a framed picture of us when we were 4, Allmight merch, then he got me something very unexpected, he got me my own hero merch.

"I didn't know they made hero merch for me.." I said almost crying, he also got me his merch witch made me laugh, especially the ground zero head plushie.

By the time I had one gift left it was about 7:30, I had my soulmates name, I could find out Kacchan's, I had it in my grasp but, I didn't really want to know.

I was about to grab the last present when Kacchan grabbed it and moved it away.

"Hey! Why did you do that?!" I asked all grumpy, he chuckled before sitting next to me and showing me it was 7:30, I already knew but I had to make it seem like I didn't, I was nervous, Kacchan could tell he rubbed his hand on my back, I looked at him, he gave me a smile of reassurance, I smiled back as I took a deep breath and pulled back my sleeve..

Katsuki's pov
I sat on the corner of my bed and pulled down my sleeve. In black, cursive handwriting was the name of my soulmate. Izuku Midoriya. The I's has hearts above them instead of tiny dots, I fought a smile as it made it way onto my face.

"Well? Who is it?" I looked up at my now confirmed soulmate, I want so badly to tell him but that would ruin the surprise.. hmmm

"I'll wait until you have yours, so we can show each other together." He looked at me with his mouth agape, I didn't really listen to what he said, I was too busy thinking of how I should surprise him.

Present time

Izuku's pov
I pulled back my sleeve and in bold, black letters was the name of my soulmate. Katsuki Bakugou. I immediately turned to Kacchan and pulled back his sleeve, in cursive handwriting was my name. Izuku Midoriya. I wasted no time with pulling him into a kiss, it was passionate, gentle and full of love. Kacchan was the first to pull away, I whined as he ended our kiss, he smirked but got up and picked up the last present. He put it in my lap then sat behind me, I leaned into his chest and started opening the present. There were 85 letters, I know because they were numbered, then there was a small box on the middle.

I sat there in Kacchan's arms as we both read the letters, I soon realized he had written one for each day in between our birthdays, on the last line of the 85th letter said.

"I can't wait to see your reaction to finding we're soulmates, but I also can't wait when you see what's in the box."

I put the letter aside carefully as I grabbed the tiny box, I carefully take the top off of it and see the most gorgeous ring I've ever seen

Kacchan leans closer to my ear.

"I have and will love you until the day I die, I know we're soulmates, I just want to make it official. So Izuku Midoriya, the light of my life, the rain to my rainbow, the name on my wrist, my soulmate. Will you marry me?" I choke down sobs as I nod my head up and down, I feel Katsuki smile into my shoulder, he quickly moves in front of me and puts the ring on my finger and puts in identical one that has an emerald instead of a ruby on his finger.

The rest of the morning was filled with kisses cuddles and laughter.
