Jisung wasn't really happy with his parents decision of moving back to South Korea. The teenager liked it in Malaysia and the thought of transferring to a new school made him uneasy. He had good friends back in Malaysia and the students at his school respected and liked him.
Jisung glared out the window of the moving car. He realised that he just had to make the best out of it. The blonde boy put in his AirPods and put his playlist on shuffle.
As the familiar sounds of Shoot Me by DAY6 started to play Jisung relaxed. He bopped his head to it.
Soon enough the family reached their new home. Jisung looked at it through the window. He scrunched his nose. It was smaller than the house that had in Malaysia but it didn't look too bad.
"So, what do you think?" Jisung's mom asked and turned to look at her kids in the back. Jisung shrugged. It'll do. His little sister jumped up and down in her seat.
"I have to go to the toilet! Now!" Jimin yelled. Jisung rolled his eyes and unbuckled first her seatbelt then his own. The two siblings walked into the house before their parents. While Jimin quickly found the toilet Jisung took a quick look through the house.
It was painted in a weird grey nuance and it had two floors. A stone staircase led up to the front door which had a door bell Jimin had to press at least five times before they walked inside. Of course there was almost no furniture in the house yet. The white walls were boring and it felt creepy and empty.
Jisung walked up to the second floor. The staircase creaked. There were three rooms on each floor. Toilet, kitchen and living room on the first floor and three bedrooms on the second floor. The blonde boy checked the three rooms and claimed the smallest one. He didn't need much space to survive.
From the single window in his room he could see down in an alley behind they house. It didn't look especially friendly and Jisung decided that he could avoid to look out the window. He put his backpack down on the floor.
A sudden feeling of emptiness flooded over him. A part of him was afraid that his life would change for the worse.
"Jisung come down and help us!" His dad called from downstairs. Jisung walked out of his new room. He skipped down the staircase. His mom and dad stood outside by the trailer with moving boxes. The moving van would come in a few hours, that's what Jisung's dad had told him.
Jisung helped his parents carry the boxes inside. Some were heavy while others were lighter. Jimin didn't carry anything since you was only eight years old. She sat in the empty kitchen and drew kittens on a paper.
The blonde boy sighed when all the boxes were inside. He walked up to his room. It was still as empty and boring. Jisung sat down on the floor and picked up his phone. No texts from his friends.
Jisung shut his phone off and stared up in the ceiling. Tomorrow would be his first day in the new school. To be honest he was a little bit nervous. But Jisung was sure he'd make new friends quickly, it was something he was good at.
He always tried to stay optimistic, even now when he would rather be in Malaysia. He'd make the best out of it.
Jisung fell asleep that night hoping that his life wouldn't fall apart from now on. Oh if he only knew back then that his life would change for the better in so many ways.
The next day Jisung woke up ten minutes before school started. He didn't feel any motivation to get out of bed and he could hear Jimin yell from downstairs. Needless to say, this day was already a living hell and it had just begun.
Jisung got up anyway. He tried to think positive things as he slowly put on his school uniform. It consisted of a simple white button-up shirt and black dress pants. Simple black shoes, a navy blue tie and a thin jacket in the same colour. Since Jisung felt incredibly stupid in the tie he left it in the closet. He took his backpack and went downstairs.
Sadly he didn't have the time to eat breakfast. He just said goodbye to Jimin and kissed her on the head before heading out in the beaming sun. After the short walk to the bus stop Jisung was sweating oceans. He stuffed the thin jacket down in his backpack and unbuttoned the first button on his shirt.
The bus came one minute late and Jisung glared secretly at the bus driver as he payed for his ride. He walked to the very end of the bus and sat down. He saw other students with the same uniform. Two girls sat to the right in front of him. They whispered and giggled with each other.
Jisung looked out the window the whole way. His thoughts drifted away. He wondered what the school would look like and what the students would be like.
When the girls sitting in front of him got off the bus Jisung stepped off too. He walked slightly behind them the whole way to the school. It didn't take more than two minutes. Jisung entered the school right when the classes begun. Students rushed right and left without noticing him.
Jisung picked up a paper with information about his first day and where he was supposed to go. He searched the school for room number 9 and at last he found the classroom. The blonde boy took a quick glance through the window of the door. A male teacher with round glasses stood in front of the class and talked. He had broad shoulders and brown hair. Jisung thought that he didn't look much older than the students.
After checking the number on the door one more time Jisung walked inside. The teacher became silent and all eyes turned to Jisung. The teacher clear his throat and smiled towards Jisung.
"Hi, you must be Han Jisung. Right?" He asked. Jisung nodded and took a step inside the classroom. The door closed behind him with a loud bang.
"I'm Mr. Kim. Please introduce yourself to the class." The male teacher said. He smiled friendly and leaned against the desk beside him. Jisung nodded once again and turned to the class.
Most people looked at him with no interest at all. Some girls checked him out while just two people stared down in their desks. Jisung smiled and straightened his back.
"Hi I'm Han Jisung. I've moved here from Malaysia and I'll be living here from now on. I hope we can get along." He said and bowed slightly. Mr. Kim nodded. The young teacher stood up and looked out over the class.
"So, you can sit down beside Shin Ryujin." He said and gestures towards a girl with long black hair. She smiled sweetly towards Jisung. The blonde boy smiled back and walked up to her. He sat down on the chair.
Mr. Kim began the lesson and Jisung picked up a notebook from his backpack. He noticed that he didn't have a pencil. How stupid.
Jisung turned to Ryujin and tapped her shoulder lightly. She looked up and raised her eyebrow. Jisung leaned closer to her.
"Do you have a pencil I can borrow?" He whispered not wanting to disturb the class. Ryujin smiled apologising and shook her head.
"Ask Hyunjin." She said and pointed to a boy in the desk beside theirs. Jisung turned to the boy named Hyunjin. He had black hair in a slight mullet. His lips were plump and Jisung noticed a mole under his left eye.
"Do you have a pen I can borrow?" Jisung whisper. Hyunjin snapped his head towards Jisung. Then he searched through his own backpack. After a couple of seconds he turned back to Jisung with a pink pen in his hand.
Jisung smiled brightly and reached out for the pen but Hyunjin snatched it back before he could take it.
"I want it back." Hyunjin mumbled and handed it over slowly. Jisung nodded his head and rolled his eyes when Hyunjin wasn't looking. Now when he had a pen he started to take down notes.
Not even after two minutes of focusing Jisung was interrupted. Something light had hit his head. He looked behind him and found himself staring into a pair of deep brown eyes. The boy who had probably thrown something at him had black hair and a black hoodie over his school uniform. He had a bruise on his jaw and bandages on his hands.
Jisung gave him a glare. The boy just smirked at him. He stuck out his tongue and Jisung furrowed his eyebrows. Weird kid.
Before turning back Jisung flipped his middle finger towards the boy. He could hear him scoff and then laugh slightly. Jisung ignored it and continued to take notes down.
He hoped he didn't need to get so tangled up with that boy in the future.
