3rd PERSON POV

Steve grabbed his keys and stormed out, his eyes showed pure anger.

After a couple of seconds Tony felt the urge to go after him, he knew exactly where he was going.

He grabbed the key for one of his cars and got down to the garage under the protests of their friends who asked him not to leave the house alone, but as a true stubborn, he went anyway.

Steve got into S.H.I.E.L.D's headquarters going around anyone that tried to stop him till he barged into Fury's office.

"Excuse me, captain, we're in the middle of a meeting"

There were at least five more executives there looking surprised, but for one time Steve didn't care about manners or chain of command and became face to face to Fury leaning on the table.

"What's wrong with you? " - Fury asked which made Steve's blood boil

"Really? You wanna know what's wrong? What about going behind our backs with that bullshit you said on TV? YOU'RE A TRAITOR, You don't care about any of us, you only care about these stupid fancy pants here"

Captain was so blind with rage he didn't care about controlling what came out of his mouth.

"ROGERS, get out of my office now, before I call security on you"

"Oh really? Good luck with that" - everyone in the room went from surprised to scared now.

"Steve, let's go" - Tony showed up behind him, but the blond one never looked back.

"Listen to Stark" - Fury said between his teeth.

"Why did you have to go behind my back? I said I'd do it" - his ton of voice was scary, he was fighting not to jump on Fury's throat right there.

"I'm not stupid, Rogers, I know you wouldn't stick to the plan, you wouldn't say something to hurt Tony."

" You're right, I wouldn't. But now I want you to know you messed with the wrong man." - Even Tony wasn't recognizing his fiancee right now.

" IS THAT A THREAT? DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW WHO HAS MORE POWER? " - Now Fury had stepped up too. - " Yeah, Rogers, great job you do protecting your man"

Fury said looking at Tony, who had a black eye.

"Tony? What happened? " - it was enough for the Captain to lose his tough pose.

"Should have let you die when I had the chance, Stark" - Fury said under his breath, thinking they wouldn't hear.

Steve went for him right away and punched him in the face, one punch was enough to lay Fury out.

The men in the room were scared to make a move. Fury got back on his feet and Steve held him by his collar.

" Take my husband's name out of your filthy mouth, am I clear?" - Steve said between his teeth almost growling.

"STEVE, THAT'S ENOUGH, LETS GO " - Stark called him firmly, he knew Steve was not normal and something really worse could happen.

"Listen to Tony he has something in his head " - Fury Muttered after Rogers let him go of his grip.

Tony stepped forward to look directly into Fury's eyes.

" Just for the record, I think you totally deserve what he was going to do to you, but I'm not a coward who kills people just to get them out of my way. "

Tony knew he understood the hint.

They left the room and Fury dropped on his chair, he was pretending he was cool but inside he was filled with fear, he knew Steve's power and he wouldn't want to test it when the latter was that out of control.

Now he had some explaining to do to the executives who just witnessed everything.

"What happened to your eye?" - Steve asked when they were on their way out. 

"I'll explain later, let's just go" - Tony knew he couldn't say anything at the moment cause Steve's reaction would be very impulsive and bad.

When they reached the door they found an angry crowd waiting for them outside along with the press. Tony pulled Steve back by the shirt.

"Steve, you can't do anything, please, this will hurt us badly." - Tony pleaded.

"They did that to you?" - he was possessed.

Tony just didn'tsay anything.

One of the security guards from S.H.I.E.L.D  showed up.

"I know another way out"

"You would help us why?" - Steve was throwing knives at everyone.

"Mr. Stark here helped me a lot in a desperate time of my life, that's the least I can do. Come, I'll guard you out of the building."

Tony gave Steve a look to show him trust and the latter accepted.

As soon as they got to the tower, Steve ran to Tony, holding his face between his hands.

"Are you ok?" - His eyes, once filled with rage, now was a mix of pain and worry.

"I'm fine, it was nothing" 

"This isn't nothing, Tony. Who did it?" - Steve asked again.

"Why? So you can go after him and kill him with one punch? We can't do anything, specially you, and you know that"

"DAMNIT" - Steve cursed then punched the wall leaving a mark there. 

"Babe, if you do that to a wall think about what you are going to do to a normal human being" 

Steve haven't told Tony yet about how he felt when he was suposedly "dead", the things he felt or have done, he was mainly afraid of what Tony would think of him, if he would still love this part of him.

Instead of saying another thing Steve just held Tony in his arms and pressed his lips against his forehead.

When they got upstairs, everyone was gathered around the TV.

"Guys, I think you should see this" - Natasha said, she was devastated.

The news report was showing Tony grabbing a man by the collar and portraying him as a raging alcoholic. Of course they didn't show the part where the man he was holding punched him out of nowhere and how Tony let go of him without hitting back. 

"Why are they doing that to you? I don't get it" - Thor said.

"Here is just like in Asgard, would your people prefer to believe a God was doing something they didn't approve or put the guilt on an ordinary person?" -  Tony said. - " Well, here, Steve is a God to many people" 

"That's ridiculous" - Steve was outraged.

"But he's right, though" - Natasha said. 

"What is easier for them to believe that a man like Tony, who had his bad share with the press did this or that THE Captain America, a representant of the old values and conservative America is now fucking a man?" - Bucky went straight to the point.

"It's not fair" - Steve was feeling defeated.

"Don't worry, I can take the heat, we'll be fine" - Tony said trying to calm him down.

"We want you both to know that we'll stand by your side no matter what" - Bruce spoke for everyone.

"Thank you, but I don't want anyone else into this mess with us" - Tony was firm in this decision.

Mr. Stark, Nick Fury is here

JARVIS voice echoed in the room.

"Let him in" 

Fury entered stomping his way till he got face to face with Steve.

"Do you know what your little show cost me? Huh, ROGERS, ANSWER ME" 

Tony saw Steve's eyes change quickly the same way it did earlier. He put his hand on Steve's chest, it seemed he responded well to his touch, and got in between them.

"Didn't you get what you wanted? Destroy my image for the world. What else do you want? Just leave us alone" - Tony was not toning down either.

"Did you bother to see who was in that room when your lover punched me like wild animal?" - Fury was even closer to Tony now, but the billionaire was deadly staring into his eyes. - "You of anyone should know this Stark, you saw how it was difficult to approve the existance superheroes in society after Civil War and identities revealed and those man there now know I lied to them about y'alls relationship"

"Like I said before, you never cared about us" - now Tony was already enraged.

"Quite the opposite, Stark, I care about you all so damn much I have to make difficult choices everyday just so you all can exist. But you've always been a selfish, egocentric man who just cares about your own ass" 

"Yeah, I see how you think about me. What was that story about letting me die again?"

"You know what, Stark? I stand by what I've said if you were dead, none of this woullb be happening" 

As soon as he finished the sentence Steve was ready to jump on him again, but Tony stopped him once again.

"Now just to let you know, I won't care a bit about you anymore and I won't try to protect you from that group that was after you, you think you're so arrogant, you'll choke on it."

"We'll see about that"

"About the rest of you who still wants to survive with dignity in this world and still be superheroes, I'm still here to take care of you" 

"I stand with them" - Natasha spoke.

"Me too" -Bruce was next, followed by everyone else.

"You're all making a huge mistake. Perhaps you should ask your dear friend Tony what is it that the group threatening him want that he is hiding" - Fury said and Tony's throat tightened. - "You really thought they didn't come after us to negotiate something we didn't even know existed?"

"Leave now, this is my house and you're not welcome anymore" - Tony said between his teeth.

Now he had to come clean with everybody.
