TONY'S POV

After that horrible day, no one saw Steve anymore, we just knew he was keeping touch with Fury cause as the good leader he is he wouldn't abandon his team. But, there wasn't any missions in this period of time.

3 months exactly.

I missed him terribly, I exiled myself from everyone, all I do now is drink and stay in my lab.

Sometimes Pepper would stop by to beg me to stop drinking and update me on Stark's industries, sign papers and stuff, but I didn't care anymore.

Natasha would text me sometimes, saying that I had to go after Steve, but I know he's better off without me.

I didn't care about anything, I didn't care about myself, but I cared about him. Stupid soldier, wish I never fell for him.

Yeah, I was in love with him, disgustingly in love and I hate myself for that.

I heard someone enter and JARVIS announced Pepper.

"Not now" - I said and didn't even look at her.

"Tony, please, you're horrible"

"Thank you, I feel much better now" - something I didn't loose was sarcasm.

"You gotta stop drinking, please. There's someone here that wants to talk to you"

For a moment my heart stopped and I was hit with a spark of hope to see Steve at the door.

But it wasn't, it was Natasha.

"Go away, both of you, I know you want to help, I appreciate, but it's not worth it"

"Tony, I talked to Steve yesterday" - Natasha caught my attention. - "He's at Bucky's house, you should go see him, please."

Bucky

That name was everything I didn't want to hear, the only person I didn't want by Steve's side. That made me feel nauseous and my heart seemed like was going to stop right now.

"I don't care, he's happy, he doesn't need me to make him miserable again. Now please, go"

Natasha and Pepper turned to leave, I saw the pity in their eyes. That's what I am now, just a crap that people feel pity. I was a selfish and egocentric proud man, and now I am nothing.

My head spun just to think of Steve with Bucky.

I poured another dose of whiskey and went to my bedroom.

STEVE'S POV

"I think I need to leave, you helped me a lot already" - I said to Bucky as we were having breakfast.

"It's nice to have you here, really, you don't need to leave, I missed you, buddy"

"Thanks, man, but it's not right, I have to go and face things, besides, you have a family, a beautiful one I must say, I shouldn't be here in the middle of it"

"Stop, Steve, the kids love you and Sarah likes you a lot" - He said smiling.

He got everything I've always wanted, a family, someone to be with me, kids, a home. I wasn't jealous, I was truly happy for him.

"Buddy, thank you for everything" - I said, prepared to leave.

"You know you are more than welcome here. Come back anytime you want" - He said and hugged me.

"Send my regards to Sarah and the kids" - I said and walked out the door.

As I walked on the streets, getting courage to call a cab, I thought about how I was going to face them, all of them, especially Tony. He messed up, but I did too, I slapped him , for God sake. What if he really wanted to protect me?

In those 3 months I thought about him a lot, even if I didn't want to, I missed him.

When I got into the cab, I got a call from Natasha.

"Hey, Nath"

"Steve, please, you need to come home, fast" - her voice was pure despair.

"Calm down, I'm on my way, what happened?" - I was worried too.

She started crying, a lot.

"Natasha, please, you're scaring me, are you ok?"

"It's Tony" - She cried even more and my heart skipped a beat. - " He was in a car accident"

Silence.

Panic.

Horror.
