TONY'S POV

I picked him up over my shoulder. I was only able to do so because of the armor. He was really hurt, I was starting to have an anxiety attack.

I can't, not now, he needs me! I repeated to myself so I could calm down and concentrate.

Natasha, Peter and Bruce were already gone in my car. I was walking through the hall with Steve passed out on my shoulder, I could not even describe what I was feeling, but it was close to total desperation.

Stephen found us and teleported the three of us to the tower.

I put Steve lied on the couch and disabled the armor.

"Oh my God" - it came out just a whisper.

Now I could see how hurt he was. Panic took over my whole body and brain and a knot was formed in my throat.

His face was filled with blood on one side, his nose, chin and lips were cut and his hands too.

I kissed his hands and then his lips, I didn't mind the blood at all.

"Let me help" - I felt Stephen's hand on my shoulder. - "I'll get some supplies. While I go, try to get him out of his uniform, at least the top part."

He said and went to the room where I keep medical supplies.

I started to open it, I knew this uniform like the back of my hand.

I was able to pull the top part exposing his torso, it was apparently perfect, except for a bruise on his stomach.

"I love you, please be fine" - I couldn't hold it anymore, I started crying, my face against his chest.

Strange came back and I had to step aside so he could treat him, right when Peter, Natasha and Bruce got home. Thor and Clint showed up too.

"Are you insane?" - I screamed directly at Peter.

I was furious, so furious that the kid got scared.

"I'm sorry, Mr Stark, I didn't know"

"You should be sorry, really sorry, look what you did" - I yelled and pointed at Steve.

"I need you to grow up, kid and get real." - I walked towards him,but Clint stopped me .

"Tony, calm down, please! "

"How ? Please tell me, cause I want to know the magic thing that will make me forget that the most important person in my life is hurt, because of a child's imprudence."

Clint stepped back, a little uncomfortable.

"I'll make it right, Mr Stark" - the boy started crying - "Please forgive me"

He was begging with his hands together.

"Tell me what I need to do"

I just turned my back at him trying to breath.

His eyes were drowned in sorrow, but all I could think was that Steve was hurt.

"How are you, Natasha?" - I asked.

"I'm fine, just a few cuts, dodging and flexibility are my things and the boy helped a lot" - she answered.

"I don't know what I'd have done if anything happened to you" - Bruce said and kissed Natasha.

  "Honey, Steve is not a normal human being, he'll heal before we can realize" - Strange said and everyone nodded along.

"I know that, but you guys don't understand, this man is everything that matters in my life, he can have a scratch on his face that will heal in an hour, but I'd still be concerned, I love this man like I've never loved anyone or even myself, so I'll worry and be mad every time someone tries to hurt him"

I let it all out, it wasn't my intention, but everything just came out of my chest along with tears. Everyone around were astonished, surprised

"Tony?" - I heard Steve's voice calling for me.

I ran towards him.

I couldn't hold myself back and started crying a lot. His blue eyes met mine.

"I won't ever let anyone hurt you again"

The pain I was feeling from seeing him like this was unbelievable.

"Hey, come here" - he pulled me to a kiss.

I leaned and when our lips touched softly, it was like my whole body was going to fall down.

He moved his lips slowly on mine, it was intense, passionate.

" You're gonna need a little time to heal, considering it's you, it will be fast. "

"It will , thanks Stephen" - Steve said and sat down.

"Any chance you didn't hear anything I said?" - I said embarrassed.

STEVE'S POV

"I heard everything" - I answered him and smiled.

I knew he loved me,but I didn't know that it was that much. Tony Stark became vulnerable for me and it's unbelievable.

He looked down embarrassed and I laughed.

"Don't be embarrassed, I love you just like that too, I'd protect you with my life if I had to. You're everything to me, Tony Stark. " - I kissed him again.

I wished I had the ring with me right now, but we didn't have time to pick it up.

"Damnit, I hate you both" - Thor said, he was crying.

We all laughed at him.

"I'm gonna be honest now, was going to talk to Steve, ask him if it wouldn't be safer if you guys broke up, but now I know that this is that serious, I just wanna protect you both and I will, I promise" - Thor said and it felt so good hearing this.

" So will I" - Natasha said.

"Me too" - Bruce agreed.

"Count on me as well" - Clint said.

"Thank you guys, it means so much" - I said and Tony just nodded. - " Peter, don't feel guilty, ok? Just be careful next time"

The kid nodded positively, he was scared.

"I'm not sorry I yelled at you and I still mean everything I said to you, but I forgive you. It doesn't mean I'm not mad, but I forgive you" - Tony was tough and didn't like to be soft.

"He has a good heart,kid, he just doesn't want anybody to know it" - Clint said and Tony rolled his eyes.

"Thank you, Mr Stark, I won't let you down again"

The kid was so happy, I think he was afraid Tony would change his mind and ran to his room.

"That's the spirit, boy, make your dad proud " - Bruce joked.

Everyone including me started laughing a lot.

"What are you laughing at, Steve? If Tony is his Dad, you're his papa"

We laughed even more. I wanted so bad to call him my husband.

"I'm sending Pepper and Rhodes to Russia with Wanda and Pietro for a little time, they'll be safer there till we solve things here, they agreed and were actually excited to go on their 'second honeymoon' and Wanda and Pietro can be closer to their relatives for a while too. I'll pay for everything they need or want" - Tony told everyone.

"You made the right call" - I approved.

"I always do,babe" - he said and patted my head.

Unbelievable.

"Bruce, can I talk to you for a second?" - Tony called him.

What was with the secret?

I was feeling better by the minute.

They stepped out of the room and I walked towards Natasha.

"How are you?" - I was concerned about her.

"I'm fine, honey, just a few scratches that's nothing"

" I was worried" - I said and she hugged me. - " Nath, I don't want to push this any longer, I need to propose to him this week."

I whispered, cause Thor and Clint were near.

"Oh thank God, I was dying with anxiety already"

"From what?" - Thor asked. Clint and Strange were curious too looking at us.

Bloody hell.

"Nothing, just Pepper's pregnancy, we're all excited to find out about this" - I thought quickly and it got them all distracted.

"I want it to be a surprise for everyone" - I whispered and Natasha nodded  with a huge excited smile on her face.

TONY'S POV

"Is everything ok?" - Bruce asked when we got into the workshop.

"I want to show you something"

" I'm afraid,but ok" - he said suspicious.

"JARVIS, open the hottie surprise safe"

"You are so weird" - Bruce was going to start criticizing my odd names for things I run in the workshop,but he just became speechless when I showed him.

It was a titanium little box, inside there was a beautiful ring.

"I do" - Bruce said and laughed. - " Oh my God, Tony"

"Yeah, I know, it's beautiful"  - I couldn't help but smile

"Beautiful? I'd marry you right now just for that ring"

"This is only the engagement ring." - I was a little surprised of how he reacted to the ring, when he sees the actual wedding ring he will drop dead.

"Titanium box and a safe to guard an engagement ring? Isn't it a little too much ?" - he was perplexed. - "I wonder what did you use to guard the wedding ring.

I started laughing.

"Oh my God, you freak, you didn't, tell me you didn't" - he was disbelieved.

I just shook my head laughing at his reaction.

"I can't believe you put a ring in a box of vibranium."

"They're not common rings, they've been in my family for generations, it's from world war II, Stark legacy. "

"Ok, a little less insane now" - He was still perplexed.

"Well, they were made for women and of course daddy didn't think I'd be marrying a man and lesser his experiment soldier" - we both laughed hard.

"He would be really surprised."

"So I had to modify it a little without losing the essence and respecting the legacy."

"Oh my God, Tony, you are nuts. You had the courage to mess with a world war II, Stark heritage ring?" - his chin dropped and he sat down. - " You are officially the most insane person I've ever met in my life"

"I'm not insane, I'm just insanely in love with him, that's how much Steve means to me" - I said to Bruce, but I was telling it to myself as well.

I am so sure about Steve that I don't have any boundaries when it comes to him.

"Do you want to see the ring or not?"

"Of course I do"

I typed the password on the other safe and got the box.

I put my digital Bellow to open it.

Bruce was speechless for a long moment.

"It's... It is vibranium too" - he was breathing heavily.

" My family knows a place they have it and I have contact with them, I convinced them to sell me some to modify the ring"

"There's a place that has vibranium? Where ?"

"It's a nation and I can't really talk about it, sorry" - I dodged the subject, I couldn't talk about them not even to Steve.

"What do you think? Do you think he'll say yes?" - I asked and started biting my nails.

"It's a fucking world war II vibranium ring from the Stark family for God's sake" - he got up excited. - " Tony, if you asked him to marry you with a gumball machine ring he would say yes, that man is crazy about you. And I can see you are crazy and crazy about him as well"

"I am, I really am" - I smiled and couldn't stop. - " He's worth everything, even my dad rolling in his grave" - I laughed and he laughed too.

"Thanks for trusting me so much to tell me this. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness" - He was crying and I started crying too.

I hugged him.

"I'm crying too much for one day" - I said and we let go. - "I just told you about this, you're the only one that knows about it, I'd like it to be a surprise for everyone."

"I'll be silent as a dead person"

"I also want to ask you in advance to be my best man"

"Oh Tony, you're going to give me a heart attack" - he was so emotional and happy that it gave me life. - "When are you planning on proposing?"

He wiped his face.

"This week, I can't wait any longer"

"I'm so happy for you" - he said and hugged me again.

It was the right person to tell, he was one of my best friends and always has my back.

I wanted to tell Pepper as well, but I couldn't put her through all this anxiety right now, I know that she would be overwhelmed by the news and I also want it to be a surprise for her. She knows I have that ring since my mom died, but like me, she never thought I'd actually use it.

I guarded both of them on the safes again and we left the workshop.

I went to the kitchen cause Natasha told me Steve was there.

"Hey" - I called his attention when I got in.

He was distracted by the counter.

Shirtless.

"I know you're hurt, but oh my God"

I got close to him and got on tiptoe to kiss him.

"I'm almost all better" - he took me by surprise and put me sitting on the counter to kiss me.

"I just can't deal with that much" - my whole body shivered and I threw myself back.

He caught me with one arm and laughed at me.

"So sad you can't deal with that, because I was going to ask you to help me take a shower" - he talked with his face so close to me, looking at my eyes and my body with lust.

"I'm so glad you're a super soldier" - I said and kissed him intensely, my hands on his neck.

"Let's go" - he said and picked me up again and started carrying me.

"I weight nothing to you, huh! "

"It's like a bag of feathers, honey" - He laughed and carried me upstairs.
