TWO YEARS LATER

"Dear Diary..."

Lizzie stared at the blank page, thinking hard about what to write. It had been over two years since her beloved sister Mazikeen left the school, and so much had changed since then.

First off, Hope was a fully activated tribrid. She unlocked her vampire side to take down malivore... but unfortunately it came with a price, being Landon's life.

So Landon was dead. Hope had shoved a stake through him, killing him. It broke her, killing the boy who'd become one of her closest friends, and after everything else she had lost, she decided to turn off her humanity.

Jesse had been inconsolable and depressed. Molly had kept a close eye on him, worried that he may become suicidal. The Hale boy never had shown suicidal tendencies before, but after losing his sister and then the love of his life, he felt so utterly and completely broken.

That wasn't all of it. Hope had attacked Alaric before leaving Mystic Falls and now he was in a coma, and Josie then left the school. This meant that Lizzie was technically alone, as all of her family were gone.

And worst of all, after all of the horror she caused Maze and her family, Bianca freaking Harris was still at the Salvatore school.

The Saltzman sighed, dropping the pencil, as she didn't have the strength to write. So much had been going on, and she just wished things would go back to the way they were... over two years ago.

"Lizzie?" A small voice asked, as Clary stood in the doorway. The siphon sadly looked up at the blonde. "I can't do it Clar... I can't write today. Everything is just too much."

Clarissa nodded, as she entered the room and approached the girl. "It's okay, babe. You don't have to. Try to take it easy." She spoke, before she gently kissed the girl's forehead.

Lizzie leant into her girlfriend, and closed her eyes, wanting to just stay put in bed. That's right, girlfriend. Lizzie and Clary had finally started dating.

It had come as a surprise to most, especially MG and Ethan Machado who'd both been pining over Lizzie even though she had been 100% uninterested in them both, and also to Cleo Sowande who had been crushing on Clarissa since her arrival at the school.

"What are you going to do?" Clary asked softly, knowing that Lizzie always had a plan. Holding the O'Connell's hands gently in her own, the witch sighed. "I think I'm going to go after Hope."

"Okay, well I'll come with you." Clary declared, moving to sit beside the other blonde. Lizzie shook her head, "Clary, that'll be too dangerous." She insisted as the girl frowned. "I can't let you do this alone, plus Hope is my sister and— I'm not human anymore... I'm much stronger."

"Baby, she's a fully activated tribrid now, and we don't know the full extent of your powers yet." Lizzie reminded her, "She could hurt you, or worst of all she could kill you."

Clary nodded, understandly though she was a little disheartened. "I understand."

"Uh, sorry to interrupt.."

The two blondes turned to the doorway of Lizzie's dorm, where Ari was standing. The witch that was once all sunshine and rainbows, was rather doubtful now.... doubtful of herself and everything around her.

"Hey Ari." Clary gave the Mae a smile, though Ari doesn't seem to smile back, as she looked upset.

A few months ago, Ari had found her way back to Josie. She didn't expect to, after everything that happened in their previous relationship. But they worked things out and decided to start over... although they never expected to both become infatuated with Mystic Grill's waitress, Finch Tarrayo.

Ari, Josie and Finch all dated, becoming a polyamorous couple, but with Josie leaving the school she left her girlfriends behind and upset.

Truthfully, no one had seen much of Ari or Finch since Josie's departure, as they'd been sort of hiding away together, not wanting to face others. It wasn't until Cleo had knocked on their dormitory door to check on them, that anybody had seen them.

"Cleo just came to let Finch and I know there's a super squad meeting. Obviously we're not apart of it, I think she just wanted to try and get us out of our room, but I figured I'd let you guys know." She said, before offering a weak smile.

The Mae was broken... a shell of the girl she used to be. She'd lost Jade, Maze, Landon (who she became close with), Hope and now Josie... she was worrying deep down that everyone was going to leave her, so she stayed closeby Finch at all times.

"Thanks Ari, but I have another plan in mind." Lizzie insisted, as Ari came to a very quick realisation. "Are you going after Hope?" The witch asked. "I sure am." The Saltzman nodded, "And I'm not going to let any of you stop me."

Ari chuckled lightly, a forced chuckle though, before she looked to Clarissa. "I think it would be best if you stay here." She spoke, "I know things are different now but..."

Clary nodded, "I know. Unfortunately I am staying behind." She replied, hoping to spend some time with other students while Lizzie was gone, though she knew she wouldn't get the Saltzman out of her mind.

Although, the O'Connell had no idea that her beloved wanted to kill Hope.

Lizzie had wasted no time in her search for Hope. Infact, the blonde had packed immediately after her conversation with Ari and Clary. She'd kissed her girlfriend goodbye and was on her merry way. In a short time, she was already quite far from home.

Images flashed in her mind, of Alaric's current state. He had been a bad person... and certainly a bad Dad, but in Lizzie's mind he didn't deserve this.

Clutching the stake in her pocket, she felt anger rise in her body. This anger was towards Hope, and she couldn't wait to find the Mikealson.

She'd been in quite a fit of rage, until a person raced right past her, screaming at the top of their lungs. "What the hell?" Lizzie blurted, turning to the stranger, before she anxiously looked around to figure out why he was screaming and running.

It was then, a figure with long, dark hair zoomed past in a blur, chasing after the stranger. Instantly, Lizzie's heart rate picked up. "Hope." She managed to say.

The dark haired figured grabbed hold of the stranger, and opened their mouth widely to reveal fangs. Without any hesitation or reluctance, the vampire sunk their fangs into the neck of their victim, before they completely drained them of blood.

Lizzie watched in horror, before the vampire stood upright, and tossed the now dead body aside like garbage. She let a gasp escape her lips, catching the attention of the vampire.

"Who the hell do you think you are?!" The Saltzman snapped, her voice shaky after she'd witnessed a literal murder.

The vampire snapped her head towards Lizzie, and the Saltzman felt the colour drain from her face as she recognised her features. It wasn't Hope, as she had assumed. It was Mazikeen.

The Parker's fangs were still elongated, as blood had dripped down her chin and neck. Her vampire eyes were still showing and darkened veins completely flooded her body, worse than they ever had.

"Maze!" Lizzie managed to choke out, as darkness had completely taken her beloved sister, and she'd also been turned, making her a heretic. The person standing before her wasn't the loving sister she'd grown up with and idolised... but a shell of the kind hearted girl she used to be, before she let the darkness take over.

Mazikeen, with her new brunette hair, tilted her head slightly, as her lips curved up into a large yet frightening smile, her fangs still clearly visible. "Hello, Elizabeth." Mazikeen finally spoke in a chilling voice, that sent a shiver down Lizzie's spine.
